For Pulmonary Embolism "I have been on this Eliquis for almost six months. I had a clot in my lungs. I tried asking my doctor to get me off, they say it depends on how bad my heart condition is, and they will see what they can do. I have nosebleeds every week, the last nosebleed was a nightmare. They did a rhinorocket up my nose, and it's been a week and I still have a little bleeding. I'm scared to blow my nose. I can't sleep and have no energy. I tried telling my doctor about this, but nothing happened."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "One cannot expect no reaction to this med. The 'drug' is a biologic specifically made to be an antibody to the coagulation factor Xa. As many patients noted, evidence of complement activation and subsequent 'leaky membrane' is apparent. At least one patient is prescient (predictive) enough to state these products should be taken off the market."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "Mom (88) was on this for 4 months. Had to take her to the hospital as she was exhausted and felt very ill. Found that the Eliquis gave her bleeding ulcers, and she had to be given blood transfusions because of severe blood loss, as well as drugs to help heal the ulcers. She always ate a healthy diet. Never had stomach issues before. After she went off this, her stomach healed up and she had no further problems with it. Stomach ulcers are not listed in the warnings for Eliquis."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "At age 79 and put on Eliquis 5 days ago-I have had such bad dizziness and nausea-and because of Meniere's also, the ears ringing has been awful and added to all this. I have chronic a-fib and have had two cardioversions. I was previously on 2 baby aspirin daily. Couldn't tolerate either of the other newer meds either. Everything seems to increase my dizziness due to Meniere's and adds to nausea and even confusion, etc. So, I just told my doctor, no more of this drug. I want to stay with the 2 baby aspirin daily. No history of stroke in my family, nor have I had any. I just don't do meds well 'at all'."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "This is a terrible medication that shouldn't be on the market. My brother-in-law is fighting for his life right now. My sister (his wife) just had a hip replacement and has to deal with him having a brain bleed due to this terrible medication. Pray for Robert."

For Pulmonary Embolism "I have been taking Eliquis for almost three years. I am 79 years old. I had a blood clot on my right leg and both lungs in 2020 and was put on Eliquis. I have experienced a lot of side effects. Some of them include fatigue, leg cramps, bleeding, hair thinning, itching, blurry eyesight, black tarry stools, and nose bleeds. For the bleeding, I had a complete hysterectomy and colonoscopy, but I still experienced symptoms. My doctor would not reduce my dose or stop the medication. However, I took half my dose for 1.5 weeks and then stopped a week ago. I am feeling so much better!"

"Ever since I started taking this medication, I have been in more pain, and I never know from one day to the next what I'm going to feel like. What really scared me this morning was that it was hard to breathe. I get rashes, headaches, nausea, and anxiety. I'm so fatigued all the time and have more pain. I feel better when I first wake up before I start taking medication. I take 5 mg twice a day. I thought about just stopping and not taking anymore as I feel like it's going to be the end of me anyway! I've never been the same since I had my stroke!"

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "Recently had a TIA due to A Fib and was put on Eliquis. No issues for 3 weeks until my heart rate spiked to 180 BPM, tachycardia, and feeling a flush of adrenaline throughout my body. Within 4 days, I had 3 episodes of it and was finally put on metoprolol to control my heart rate. It's now been 2 months, and I still continue to have episodes of tachycardia with the flushing of adrenaline feeling. I'm also feeling dizzy quite often and in a fog a lot of the time. I feel like I'm a few heartbeats away from a heart attack. Doctors don't seem too worried, but they're not going through it. I've never had instances of tachycardia until taking Eliquis and Lipitor. Not happy and will be asking for alternatives."

For Deep Vein Thrombosis "Stented for May-Thurner syndrome in August 2020, no history of clots, developed a small one from surgery. Put on Eliquis 5 mg 2x daily + 1 baby aspirin a day. First week, body aches from head to toe were terrible...it faded...reared again 2 months into treatment. I will be so glad to get off of this medicine. The body aches for me are awful."

For Pulmonary Embolism "Was placed on Eliquis after a small PE. The clot was dissolved within three weeks, so while I’m grateful the Eliquis did its job, I begged my doctor to take me off it and got switched to Warfarin. Eliquis just made me feel lifeless. I had all day fatigue and weakness, feeling spacey and zoned out to the degree that it was very challenging to work at times, dizziness, heart palpitations, spells where I felt on the verge of passing out, difficulty swallowing, random weird pains in my eyes, ears, and extremities, back spasms and constant back pain, water weight gain and uncomfortable bloating and swelling, swollen feet and ankles, nausea, GI distress, stomach pains, and diarrhea, and rectal bleeding. Also had liver tests come back with abnormalities while on the med. These symptoms caused my doctor to refer me to several trips to the ER."

For Pulmonary Embolism "I had an appointment with my doctor last week. I told her that something isn't right and I'm not feeling well. As I was trying to explain my symptoms, I was slurring when I talked, plus I was very confused. She ordered a bunch of blood tests and a CT scan of my head. About an hour after seeing her, my phone rang. It was my doctor telling me that I have to get to the ER right away. She told me that the blood test was positive for blood clots. While at the ER, I was given a CT scan of my lungs. The tests showed that I have a blood clot in both of my lungs. The doctor put me on Eliquis. I am not pleased with the side effects. I have been having shortness of breath and horrible heartburn. I'd advise anyone to research all of the drugs and find out all of the side effects before taking Eliquis."

For Deep Vein Thrombosis "Following knee surgery, I developed a blood clot. The doctor originally put me on Xarelto, and that was a disaster. The doctor had to take me off of it after 3 weeks, and we switched to Eliquis. Almost immediately after beginning to take Eliquis, I started to have random itching sensations all over my body. At first, I didn’t think anything of it, but after 4 weeks on it, I started to have uncontrollable itching late at night and extreme swelling in my hands and feet due to the scratching. I would also develop hives and what looked like diaper rash all over my body. Luckily, between the two drugs, the clot is gone, and I am back on aspirin. I have only been off of Eliquis for 5 days, and some of the rash and itching have gotten better but not yet gone. I think some of the interactions seemed to be related to what I would eat."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "I was prescribed Eliquis after getting a pacemaker, and then the troubles began. Rapid water retention of 50 pounds occurred the first year. Then gout, a kidney stone, and finally I could not walk 15 feet without holding onto something or sitting down. Then sleep was another problem, 3 or 4 hours a night, with stiff and painful mornings followed. My life changed from very active to almost an invalid. Doctors treated me, tested me, they all claimed nothing was wrong with me, all vitals were within normal guidelines. This is my current state and has been for over 2 years."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "Within 5 days of taking Eliquis, I have an itchy rash on both sides of various parts of the body. It is particularly itchy at night after a couple of hours of sleep. The rash seems to appear on the same area of opposite sides of the body simultaneously, such as on the legs, upper arms, forearms, thighs, sides of the stomach, and chest. I also experienced muscle spasms in the legs, hips, back, and arms. After stopping the drug, the muscle spasms stopped, and the itching and rash cleared up within a week to ten days."

For Deep Vein Thrombosis "I have been taking Eliquis for more than 2 years now after being diagnosed with left leg DVT and PE. At first, it was okay, but after 6 months, I noticed joint pain and thought it was just plain arthritis. It started to get worse, and I can't sleep due to pain in my elbows, palms, knees, and pelvis. Due to Eliquis, I can only take Tylenol for pain. I went to the emergency in Oct 2021 due to this pain and was told I have polyarthralgia. My rheumatologist made me take a lot of blood tests, including rheumatoid factor and anti-nuclear antibody, but the results were all negative for autoimmune disease. Then last year, I started having chest pain and shortness of breath and also went to the emergency because of this. After all the tests, including echo and CT scan, they found my heart had no problems. My chest pain and some joint pain come and go, but my shortness of breath is frequent now. I asked my pulmonologist if I can reduce my dosage from 5 mg twice a day to 2.5 mg a day. I am a 63-year-old male."

For Deep Vein Thrombosis "Been on Eliquis for about a month, and they found a blood clot in my vein leading to my ovary, which is now gone, but the side effects are horrible. I’ve been extremely tired, no energy, headaches, gaining weight, swollen ankles and legs, dizzy, can’t concentrate. Was taking 10 mg in the morning and 10 mg at night, which was even worse because I felt like passing out, blood pressure dropped real low, and I was really dizzy, so they cut it down to 5 mg in the morning and 5 mg at night, so side effects didn’t change much. I want off this medicine."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "My mom was put on Eliquis for Afib. Then, after a month and a half, she started bleeding rectally. We took her to the emergency room, where they found that it was necessary to give her a blood transfusion. It took 2.5 days for the bleeding to stop. She was put in rehab, but after 11 days, her blood pressure dropped dangerously low. She died a few days later, and I feel that this entire event was a result of Eliquis. Older people should not be put on this drug!"
