Eliquis is used in the treatment of prevention of thromboembolism in atrial fibrillation; deep vein thrombosis; pulmonary embolism; deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis after hip replacement surgery; deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis after knee replacement surgery (and more), and belongs to the drug class factor Xa inhibitors. There is no proven risk in humans during pregnancy. Eliquis 5 mg is not a controlled substance under the Controlled Substance Act (CSA).
