For Urinary Tract Infection "My mother received this medication for a UT bacteria, and it almost killed her. Prior to this medication, she did not have problems with her kidney, and then she was one hour away from dialysis. Her levels of BUN went up to 111, and her creatinine was 7.6. Since then, her BUN has not been normal. It is a drug of double-edged sword."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I did one injection of amikacin for prostatitis, and within 1 hour I was clumsy and had a feeling of being drunk. I felt as if I was going to stop breathing. One of the most horrible feelings ever experienced. I called my urologist and told him about my side effects, and he advised me to stop taking it."

"Fantastic drug, in my experience. We used amikacin for treating urinary tract infection, which was caused by a resistant E. coli strain."

For Urinary Tract Infection "The injection hurts really bad. I can't walk even if it's been hours since I got it done. Maybe intravenously it will hurt less."
