my doctor gave me 1g azithromycin tho treat chlamydia but gave my partner 500mg the first day then 250mg once daily for three days. why?
Azithromycin is the antibiotic usually prescribed to treat Chlamydia in a single, large 1 gram oral dose. Sometimes other antibiotics are prescribed for 7 days such as doxycycline or erythromycin. I'm not sure why your doctor has opted to give your partner a different dose but as long as you both take the medicines as instructed and abstain from sex for 7 days you should be fine.
