What is the difference between Clenpiq and Prepopik?

Official Answer by Drugs.com 22 Jan 2018

Prepopik is supplied as a powder and must be reconstituted with cold water right before its use, while Clenpiq is ready to drink and it does not need to be diluted prior to administration. Both products require two doses for a complete preparation prior to a colonoscopy. Clenpiq and Prepopik are both a combination of sodium picosulfate, a stimulant laxative, and magnesium oxide and anhydrous citric acid which form magnesium citrate, an osmotic laxative. Both agents are used in adults for cleansing the colon in preparation for colonoscopy and are manufactured by Ferring Pharmaceuticals.
