Chlamydia is a common sexually transmitted infection caused by bacteria Chlamydia trachomatis. It is easily treated with a single dose of azithromycin.
To prevent spreading the infection your doctor should have advised you to abstain from sexual activity for 7 days after single dose antibiotics or until completion of a 7-day course of antibiotics.
You may both still be contagious.
