"Great drug. Never knew how important sleep was to the human body. Would only sleep 3 hours a night and thought that was normal. However, since I have been on Ambien, I eat at night and do not remember it at all. My family tells me I am funny but do not remember talking to them. Never had dreams before, now they are vivid and real and colorful. This is a bit on the weird side."

"I had been contemplating taking a sleep aid for some time now, but after my engagement fell apart, I really need it more than ever. I have been on Ambien for 3 weeks now, and although I think it helps, I took mine 2 hours ago, and I'm still here. Once I do fall asleep, it is a very sound and restful sleep, but I still lay in bed tossing and turning, thinking of what could have and should have been."

"First time I went on Ambien CR, I was disoriented and felt like I was having an out-of-body experience. I was on it for 5 days. I decided after trying several other medicines that I would try it again. Now, I get 8 hours asleep and I feel better now that I am getting to sleep. Still am a little tired throughout the day, but I don't feel insane from lack of sleep. Definitely hooked on it because when I miss, I know."

"I took Ambien CR for a year, and at first, it worked pretty well, except for a minor side effect that left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't let that bother me as long as I was getting my 8 hours of sleep. After a year, it stopped working, so I tried to double my dose. Big mistake, I had to stop using it because I started sleepwalking and having conversations with others without remembering anything. Ambien works, but be cautious of side effects."

"I've taken 12.5 mg Ambien CR on and off for 3 months now. Within the last two weeks, it's been more like every day. I was so groggy all day. Also, I'm not sure I slept... It was more like just being turned off rather than in a state of recuperative sleep. I cut the pill in half last night and had only 4 hours of sleep, where I awakened twice. I still feel more refreshed than ever, probably because this is the first time in weeks I don't have an Ambien hangover. It's a great medicine, but I'd like to wean myself off of it. I suspect it's either causing depression or amplifying a depression I didn't know I had."

"I used to be on trazodone, Ambien, and Ambien CR. I enjoyed both Ambiens because I did get a lot of the sleep that I have missed out on, but I did feel groggy when I woke up and still tired. When Ambien CR started to not work as well, I would ride a bike and end up in someone else's lawn. My body got so used to all of them that, now after 1 year of not taking them, it still treats my body as if I am 'high.' Everyone's experience is different."

"Awful... I've been on regular Ambien for years, 10 mg, switched to 12.5 CR, and every day so far, all day long, I feel awful... sick feeling, kinda nauseous, over-medicated feeling, and bad headaches. Sweating all day profusely when I never sweat at all. Wishing I can feel normal again, awful, awful, awful!!!"

"All good, took the CR Ambien before bed with a few slices of pizza and fell asleep normally and slept a full eight hours or so, and had some errands to do around noon the next day in a busy part of West Iowa near downtown Council Bluffs. Waking up from sleepwalking in the middle of a busy intersection with cars coming at me from every direction definitely made it more interesting."

"I successfully took Ambien, not every night. And it was great. However, Ambien CR has caused vivid dreams, memory loss, sleep driving. I stopped using CR when I had a sleep driving event and no memory of the event. Will have to battle my sleep problem without it."

"This is my second night of taking Ambien CR 10 mg. Last night, I fell asleep and woke up with the pictures hanging on the wall on top of me. I'm not sure what happened there, but hopefully everything will be better! I have my fingers crossed!"

"I have taken CR for over 10 years. It is generic, and there are many. However, the blue 12.5 mg worked great while taking Vraylar and Trintellix, bipolar meds, which I am not, but they seemed to work on my depression. Until I was diagnosed with addiction. We stopped the Vraylar and Trintellix, switched to Wellbutrin XL, 2 100 mg tabs in the morning. Amazing miracle drug for addiction. HOWEVER, THE AMBIEN CR GIVES ME ONLY 4 HOURS OF SLEEP. That sucks. Any suggestions, PLEASE HELP."

"I would fall asleep but wake up a few hours later. I don't know how anyone can fall asleep while taking this medicine, but everyone responds differently. Tylenol PM makes me feel a lot more sleepy than this medicine."

"Long story short, I took this to help sleep, I had trouble my whole life until these magic pills came along and helped. After taking them for about 2 months, one early morning at 3 a.m., I woke up in a fenced-in construction site, sitting naked in one of the tractor cab's driver seats. I had no recollection of how I got 6 blocks from my house and through the fencing and into the tractor cab. If they had left the keys in it, I would be dead, I'm quite sure. I made it home by the grace of God, no one saw me. I flushed the rest down the toilet."

"They had me on Ambien 10.5 for thirty days. It never worked for me. Now he has me taking Ambien CR, which is not any better. Ambien seems like a sugar pill as far as I can tell. Think twice before paying for it!!!!"

"This medication doesn’t live up to expectations. I’ve tried nearly every option and found them to be ineffective. This med is also ineffective. I’ve had no change in length or quality of sleep regardless of taking it on an empty stomach. I’m quite disappointed. I will note that the first time I took it, my boyfriend was a little freaked out after finding me sleepwalking."

"Ambien is like a little piece of heaven in a pill. I have been on 12.5 CR since 2009. Before this, I tried all the others. Ambien is the only drug that helps me fall asleep. I recommend this drug."

"Very consistent seven hours of sleep. However, if I don't go right to bed, I may do things I don't remember, like leaving a bunch of lights and the TV on. Had to discontinue due to high cost."

"On Ambien CR, I was walking all around my house, talking to myself. I was told this because I remember nothing. I also woke up very early without much sleep. I took 1 Ambien CR."

"Ambien CR is great. You can expect a full night's sleep, waking up refreshed. Sometimes, however, I have problems with it not working at all. I will take one, wait two hours, take another, and after a little while longer, will take a third. Not only does it not put me to sleep sometimes, but it gives me a headache, and having been laying in bed for hours hoping for the Ambien to kick in, my anxiety levels shoot through the roof. After this, I surely need a few benzodiazepines to calm down. But then again, I'm still awake despite the three Ambien CR!"
