Zolmitriptan "I have suffered with migraines for 20 years, and without Zomig, I would have missed out on many things in life. There are side effects such as a spaced-out feeling, dry mouth, and increased urine, which only last a few hours after taking the medication. But I would rather have minor side effects and live my life without always being in pain."

Zolmitriptan "I was given this to try for menstrual migraines. (I only get my migraines the first day of, the last day of, and sometimes halfway between periods.) While it did get rid of my migraine, the pain got a lot worse before it went away. That was the one and only time I used this medication."

Zolmitriptan "Fantastic. I used to suffer with nasty migraines that would leave me in bed, in too much pain to even cry. I use Zomig Rapi-Melt 2.5 mg. It takes between 20-40 minutes to work, at any stage of the attack, and clears all symptoms."

Zolmitriptan "I was given Zomig nasal spray as a test prescription from my doc. She said the nasal spray works really quickly and may be a good alternative to my Maxalt. I should have stuck with my instincts. After 10 years of migraines and numerous medications, Maxalt always works. I tried the spray, it did act fast. I felt better within a half hour! But now, four hours later, my migraine is back and worse than before :( I may try one more time, but so far I am not impressed."

Zolmitriptan "I've been dependent on Zomig for about 6 or 7 years for food-related migraines - every time my system rejects another food - the first was chocolate, and now it's grown to about 25 things. I am thinking onion powder is the newest... tyramine in onion powder? Or is it rebound? How long between doses of Zomig and a rebound migraine?"

Zolmitriptan "Acute migraine, sumatriptan, and Lyrica not helping after years of use. Zomig 5 mg spray given. Frequent urination, pressure on bladder constant (so unable to go out). Blood in urine? To question with doctor yet. Very heavy fatigue, just random fall asleep. Rapid heartbeat. Difficulty swallowing, hurt. Bit of sore throat further down throat. Short-lived chest pain traveled to chest bone left side when bedtime? Speech, foggy head, thinking worsened. Dizziness (was already experiencing). Still woke during night with bad head (so cannot use). But these are manageable because better than the migraine. Could it be possible to spray first dose and take second evening hour or two before bed instead of two hours after the initial? Terrible aftertaste."

Zolmitriptan "Normally, my migraines take a few hours to go from the inkling I'm getting one to full-blown vomiting and feeling like my body is turning inside out, with chills and sweating, etc. After taking this at the inkling stage, within minutes, I was throwing up, and it had become a full-blown migraine. It clearly ramped it up!"

Zolmitriptan "I have tried a countless number of remedies, and Zomig is the only thing that has worked for me. I do have a couple of side effects to mention: sensitive skin (pain to the touch), tingling in my extremities, achy joints and muscles, and excessive urination. Although these side effects don't happen every time I use it, Zomig has been a miracle for me. I have suffered migraines for 18 years. I can live with the side effects and only hope my migraines will go away with menopause like the doctors have told me."

Zolmitriptan "My neurologist prescribed Zomig for my migraines (45 years) in November 2011. Within 1 hour, my migraine vanished with no residual effects. The only side effect I have is increased urination 2 to 3 hours after a dose. I also take Cymbalta, but it hasn't caused a problem."

Zolmitriptan "Zomig works wonders for me for migraines. The only side effect I typically have is hearing my pulse in my right ear. Annoying (and weird), but not a deal-breaker. I take a high dose of Effexor and have no interactions that I know of. However, I once took it with Ambien, and that was a big mistake, as even the next day I felt off-balanced and weak. I also try not to take it within 4 hours of Tylenol for similar reasons. It's nice to have a medicine that works so well, so consistently."

"The only migraine medication that has worked for me is this one. Side effects for me personally: increased urination (paler than usual), skin sensitivity (notice when getting into bath), 'floaty' feeling, and feeling a bit weaker than usual. Other than this, the headache usually goes within an hour and a half or so. For me, it's worth the side effects. This could be coincidence, but I'm also mentioning here that I have started to suffer from tinnitus as my ears ring a lot more now (coincidence?) since taking this medication about 7 years ago. Just an observation, as this has never been listed as a side effect."

Zolmitriptan "I started with the 2.5 mg dose, and the neurologist increased it to 5 mg due to the severity of my migraines. This medicine makes me itch horribly. I drove my son nuts last night, making him check my bed every few minutes because I just knew there were bugs crawling on me. I haven't stopped scratching, I probably look like I have scabies or something. I need to find out if I can take Benadryl with this. Also, I'm on the fence about this medicine, as it doesn't always work for me."

Zolmitriptan "Zomig is a miracle drug. I get migraines several times a week. I take this at the very first hint of a headache, and it aborts the headache. It makes you feel completely normal. The first 45 minutes, my heart beats a little fast, but that goes away quickly. Highly recommend."

"Just wonderful. Having suffered from migraines for years, a friend put me on to this. I now no longer suffer from migraines because I take a tablet when I feel one coming on, and it prevents it. What a life-changer. Expensive, yes, but worth every penny. Now been using it for over four years."

"After 5 years of trying literally every drug prescribed by my GP and neurologist, this is an absolute miracle. Migraines, which were so frequent and severe, accompanied by constant vomiting (and lots of crying), made it impossible to hold down a job, go on holiday, or plan anything at all, are now 9 times out of 10 knocked on the head (pun intended) by this wonder drug. I use the nasal spray, which I've found works best if taken at the first sign. Also, lying down helps to keep the medication in the nasal passages where it's absorbed quicker. If you throw up with migraines, don't hesitate to try it. I hope it works for you as well as it has for me. Life restored to normal. It stings a bit and tastes nasty, but a small price to pay for such miraculous relief!"

Zolmitriptan "First time trying this medication for my migraines, and the experience was horrifying. I did as the pharmacist told me, as in when I felt the pain starting to take my first tablet right away. So I did, and after about an hour, the migraine was getting worse, so I waited the 2 hours in order to take my second tablet because the pain was only getting worse for me with some added nausea. Hoping for relief, I took the second dose, and oh my, what a bad idea. After just about 1/2 an hour, the pain intensified. My head felt like it was going to burst, my vision was not blurred, but if I looked at something, it was bobbing. I had to ice my head constantly, and anything I laid on felt so hard and made everything hurt. I could barely sleep because the pain was throbbing so bad and I was getting even more nauseous. So needless to say, I had a terrible night, still woke up with a pounding head, and will NEVER take another dose of this medication. I will be going to my doctor to do a different prescription."

Zolmitriptan "I really liked Zomig. It always knocked out my migraines. I have had them since puberty. I wasn't prescribed Zomig until about 3 years ago from the VA Hospital. Then they stopped allowing us to get it and changed it to Imitrex. Imitrex takes longer to work."

Zolmitriptan "Maxalt did nothing, and oral sumatriptan stopped working, so I tried Zomig spray. I followed the directions exactly and still got a ton of product dripping down the back of my throat (which is normal). Either my migraine kept getting worse, or the Zomig made it worse. Either way, this did not work for me."

Zolmitriptan "Unfortunately, after taking my first dose of Zomig, I had an allergic reaction to it. My upper lip felt like I was stung by a bee and started to swell up on one side. This stayed in the same location for about 45 minutes. After that, my left cheek started to swell and get numb, along with my nose. Off to the ER I had to go. While it did kick the migraine, I had an unfortunate reaction to it."

Zolmitriptan "I took Zomig because I got diagnosed with migraines during my second year of college. I took it during one of the lectures. My face got wicked itchy, so I had to take a Benadryl. The next time, I figured that I would just take the Benadryl with it so I was safe. I found out very quickly that I have an anaphylactic reaction and almost stopped breathing. While I understand that I'm just allergic to this medication, it really didn't get rid of the headache and just made things worse for me. Hopefully, it will work for others."

Zolmitriptan "I have been having migraines since I was very young and now 60. I found I couldn't travel anywhere and couldn't go out in the sun. I've been taking Zomig for 4 years, and usually it just stops my migraine straight away. I must admit it has given me my life back. But yesterday, while I was driving a long distance, it came on quick, and Zomig didn't work as well. I think I took it too late. When I finally got home in agony, all the side effects started. I felt really ill, my throat closed, and pain shot around my neck and back. Hopefully, this won't happen again."

Zolmitriptan "I would be lost without this Zomig medication. It always works, takes about an hour to reach full effect and lasts for the whole day. Minor side effects are slight drowsiness, increase in urination, increased sensation around mouth, throat, and fingers. Have been using 1 to 3 times a week for about 12 years."

Zolmitriptan "I have suffered with migraines for over 40 years. I have even gone so far as having my ovaries removed to help with them. Although it helped, I am still on daily medication, and I still have approximately 6 migraines a month. I take Zomig nasal spray when I get these annoyances. I classify them as annoyances because once I use the nasal spray, the migraine will be 90-95% better in 15 minutes and completely gone in an hour. The only side effects I have had are my skin becoming very sensitive... almost as if I have bruises all over my body just under my skin. I am also tired. A 30-45 minute nap cures the tiredness."

Zolmitriptan "Not a fan of this medication at all. First, it made me nauseous because the taste was so awful dissolving in your mouth. It makes me nauseous just thinking about it. Then, it would make me overwhelmingly drowsy. I dreaded taking it. I thought I could get used to taking the medicine like I usually do, as I'm not a wimp about these things, but couldn't. It didn't work on some of the migraines. Still trying to find what best works for me."

Zolmitriptan "I have had migraines since childhood. This has been the only medicine that has truly helped. I have to take it early in the headache or it’s not as effective. If I take it during the night, I am groggy all day, but if I’m already up and doing stuff, I don’t get tired and feel better in about a half hour. I do have some sensitivity when I eat something, kind of like I am eating something very sour. This medicine has truly changed my life. I have lost jobs and missed so many holidays and family events over the years. I wish I would’ve been prescribed this a long time ago."
