For Rheumatoid Arthritis "My doctor has recently asked me to start Rinvoq. I’ve had RA for 24 years and have been on Methotrexate, alsulfadine, Plaquenil, enbrel, Orencia, Kevsara, and Cimzia. I’ve had multiple foot surgeries to correct deformities. I’m so bad now I’m wondering if I can continue to drive a car. I can barely lace my shoes. I finally acquired a bad infection and have spent months on IV meds plus another surgery. I thought things couldn’t be much worse but after reading the reports of all of these horrible side effects I realize things could be MUCH worse. I’ll eat the cost of this drug this month but I won’t take it. How does the FDA allow drugs like this to be released? How can it be effective when you pay for it in misery?"

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "I was on TNF blockers, and after a while, they stopped working. I switched to Rinvoq, and I've been much happier. I still have stiffness and pain, but on a way smaller scale than before. It went from an 8 down to a 4, which makes me happy. I did have a shingles problem which is clearing up. I also had a plugged tear duct problem. I had to have it drained four times. The other thing is I'm really tired, but I'm not sure if it's the medication or stress from work. I've been slowly losing weight, but I'm able to walk and exercise, so I think it's from that more than the medication. Overall, I'm really happy with it."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been taking this medicine for a week. My blood pressure has been uncontrollable and I have been having headaches. I was diagnosed with juvenile RA and haven't had to take any medicine. I was trying it to see if it helps for occasional pain. I believe I will stop it and do more natural things. Don't like how I was feeling."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "For close to a year I suffered each day with chronic pain. Misdiagnosis and the wrong prescriptions. My dermatologist confirmed that I had psoriatic arthritis with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis of the hands and feet. She initially gave me Tremfya but after 16 weeks my pain had subsided from the arthritis but my hands and feet were worse. Deep, painful fissures in my skin that would bleed if I walked or pet my dog. I started Rinvoq on a low dose and within a few days saw major gains. I’m now on my 3rd week and had to increase the dosage because I began to plateau but my hands and feet which had become unrecognizable are almost back to normal. The only side effect I’ve noticed is similar to mild heart burn/mild upset stomach. I had so much fatigue from pain that since being on Rinvoq I feel like I’m getting my energy back. I’m cautiously optimistic and extremely grateful."

For Ulcerative Colitis "I have been suffering from colitis for the last 7 years. I have been using rinvoq last 2 months. It’s working well for me but I have had a large hair loss. Don't know if its because of Rinvoq. However, it looks like my life is back thanks to Rinvoq."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I had a good start with Rinvoq but ended up in Acute Care with double pneumonia 6 weeks in. Since then, I have had vertigo and constant headaches. It’s now 6 months into my treatment, my vertigo is getting worse, and I wake up every day with another spot on my face or neck. I had perfect skin before and am way too old for acne."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I’ve had RA 20 years, treated with a dozen different meds. Started Rinvoq about a month after having Covid and soon developed strong headaches; I’ve never really had headaches before(I’m 54). It hurt to move my eyes; difficult to even watch TV. Rheumatologist told me to drop Rinvoq, and the headaches got better immediately… but didn’t100% disappear. Now just low-grade. I started wondering if they were a leftover issue from Covid, so after 2 weeks I restarted Rinvoq. Noticed my energy level and mood dropped right away, BUT joint pain did, too. I switched to taking it at night and that helped with fatigue. But, a month and a half in, the headaches are returning daily, I’m dragging through the day, and I’m feeling discouraged, wondering if this will just be life from now on. Joint pain seems to be returning, too. I used to think crushing fatigue was a result of RA flares, and now I’m beginning to think it’s actually from the meds."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I've been taking Rinvoq for almost a year now and had to increase from 15mg to 30mg because the itching and inflammation came back after about 20 hours of taking it. I've gained almost 15 kg!!! and I can't get it off without starving myself. The cholesterol and kidney values are also noticeable but not yet worrying. All in all a completely new life and wouldn't want to have to vegetate without this effect anymore!"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Started Rinvoq 4-5 weeks ago and the past 3 weeks I’ve had extreme cystic acne appear! It stated on my scalp, then around my hairline, behind my ears on my neck. Now it’s all over my chest and my back. I’ve never had skin issues and this is ruining my skin!"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Two and a half years ago, I was diagnosed with RA. Over a little more than a year and a half ago, the doctor tried methotrexate, Humira (2 shots monthly), and Inflectra infusions (every 2 months). I would improve a bit early on (from bad pain and stiffness) after the treatments, then I’d fall apart. Flare-ups, allergic reactions, bad pain & sadness would creep in. Within 2 days of taking Rinvoq, I felt great! I’m sorry to read the other reviews, as my experience has been very positive. Any infections I’ve gotten can be explained - and stopping Rinvoq for a few days helps my immune system catch up. Knock on wood it keeps working for me! I respond well to taking Rinvoq every day! Thank you for inventing and investing in Rinvoq!!"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been taking Rinvoq for 16 months and have no pain and very little swelling and the fatigue has improved tremendously. I have been on at least 12 different meds and while Remicaid worked well, after 3 years I was taken off it due to spikes in liver enzymes. I am hoping Rinvoq continues to work long-term as it is amazing. It's quite pricey, but I was able to get copay assistance through the pharmaceutical company."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I started Rinvoq 3 weeks ago, and it eased the pain right away. However, after taking it for a week I felt fatigued and tired all the time, had low energy, and was irritable. Then my vision started getting bad, and I became overly hungry. After 2 weeks I had enough and stopped taking the medication. I have been off the medication for almost a week now and my vision is coming back."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was diagnosed 40 years ago and have tried so many different meds. After 3 months on Rinvoq, I started to feel better. More energy and very little swelling. It's now been 9 months and I feel like before. It's just barely keeping symptoms at bay. How I wish for a medicine that helps me in the long run! I haven't had any side effects like others so I am thankful for that."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I'm a 60-year-old male and have had atopic dermatitis for around 12 years. It appeared suddenly with no apparent cause. Over the years, I've been on ciclosporin, dupilumab, and tralokinumab. All resulted in side effects - opportunistic infections with ciclosporin and significant eye irritation and inflammation with the biologics. Started taking Rinvoq 30 mg daily in Autumn 2022, and at first, it was very effective - no skin irritation or itching. However, I developed a nasty herpes simplex viral infection after around 5 months, which floored me completely. Felt as bad or even worse than I had with COVID. Only cleared up after a course of antivirals (acyclovir). After discussion with my dermatologist, I stopped taking Rinvoq, but now my eczema has returned with a vengeance. Large patches of inflammation all over my body, and it's now starting to keep me awake at night. Feel I have no option but to restart Rinvoq, but going to try a lower dose of 15 mg per day as suggested by my dermatologist."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been taking Rinvoq and I have gained 18 pounds in four months. It’s helped my RA, ok but I do have big flares once a month. I tapered the drug down to one every other day myself. I am so depressed too. I have never been so big in my life. I am not liking this drug but don’t want to go on steroids again was on them for 7 years. I have tried all the RA drugs."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis since 2019 and in the last six months, I could not get it fully under control. I was prescribed Rinvoq and have been taking it for 5 days and I have really felt the difference for the better. The swelling is definitely reducing. I have also found wearing arthritis compression gloves helps me to sleep better at night."

For Atopic Dermatitis "Completely healed the severe, bleeding lesions on my feet within two weeks! Significant improvement within three or four days. Overall, a total life-changer. I developed AT at age 71 out of the blue, so I do wonder what changed? Why has my body betrayed me? My primary side effects have been occasional cold sores and fatigue. I do not want to stay on this medication for life, however, so I am constantly looking for non-pharmaceutical alternatives."

For Ulcerative Colitis "I was given Rinvoq for treatment of my Ulcerative Colitis by my Gastroenterologist. Unfortunately, after only my 1st induction dose of 45 mg, I suffered an allergic reaction with the following symptoms: headache, constricted nasal passages, difficulty breathing, pain in my upper back, pain in my lungs, lungs felt like they were burning, lightheadedness, blurry/ fuzzy vision, numbness in my left arm, pain in my left arm, cold sweats, and pain in my abdomen. Ended in the ER and ER doctor said to stop taking this medication."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Ironically, Rinvoq has given me the most improvement in the one condition it’s not approved to treat. Before I was diagnosed with PsA, I had been diagnosed with severe psoriasis—at one point about 12% of my body was covered in plaques. Well Rinvoq keeps the psoriasis almost completely in remission (I’ve been at 1% for almost a year). I did notice a positive difference in my fatigue, but I wouldn’t say it was life changing. I also noticed a positive difference in my swelling—all of my affected joints would get so swollen unless I took handfuls of ibuprofen. Now the swelling is gone, and the pain in my larger joints (ankles, knees, lower and mid back) is much better….but it doesn’t seem to work on my smaller joints (hands, wrists, tarsals/metatarsals). Overall it’s the best drug I’ve taken that hasn’t caused me side effects, but it’s certainly not perfect."

For Atopic Dermatitis "With my asthma and atopic dermatitis AD I’ve been on various medications. I’ve never had reactions. 2 days in using Rinvoq I had severe eye swelling, lip swelling and face swelling. Pins and needles all over my body. I also had ZERO energy, vomiting and intense dizziness. This drug has a black box warning for a reason. There are so many other options truly not worth it."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Rinvoq 15 mg has been a game-changer. For the first time, my arthritis is under control. It worked from day 1. Side effects have included and resolved extreme fatigue (initial), headache, nausea, feeling of cold, and UTI. I suffer from Achilles tendinitis and work as a Respiratory Therapist, so I’m on my feet constantly! This has kept me working and active every day. I'm able to work 4-5 12 hour shifts in a row. I was not able to do that with previous Biologics and DMARDS. I'm not on steroids anymore. Yes, I have gained about 10 pounds. I'm working with my doctors now to get the weight off. Everyone is different, and your journey will be too. Good Luck!"
