For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I am a 61-year-old woman. I was diagnosed with RA years ago. My specialist had me on so many meds, I even had to take injections. They didn't work, I was in so much pain. I had a hard time getting up in the morning and walking around. I have it in my hands, fingers, toes, ankles, and knees. I started seeing a new specialist, and he put me on Rinvoq. I have been on it for almost 2 years. I have been noticing I am always tired and sleep a lot. I don't know if this is because of the meds, or is it just me. I have been breathing deeper too, so is this normal or what? But I do not have any pain. I can walk again without pain."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "I was on TNF blockers, and after a while, they stopped working. I switched to Rinvoq, and I've been much happier. I still have stiffness and pain, but on a way smaller scale than before. It went from an 8 down to a 4, which makes me happy. I did have a shingles problem which is clearing up. I also had a plugged tear duct problem. I had to have it drained four times. The other thing is I'm really tired, but I'm not sure if it's the medication or stress from work. I've been slowly losing weight, but I'm able to walk and exercise, so I think it's from that more than the medication. Overall, I'm really happy with it."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "I have gotten sick regularly with this drug. It helped my arthritis, but I stopped taking it for 3 days when I started to get a fever and night sweats. After three days of stopping the medication, my arthritis came back with a vengeance, and I started taking it again even though I was sick. I still have back pain and joint pain."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have psoriatic arthritis, just got off of one medication that kept me sick 3/4 of the time and prescribed Rinvoq. After reading all these comments, I have decided not to take this. I would rather suffer with my arthritis than subject myself to more sickness. The last 3 months on the other medication have been a living nightmare, and I don't want that again."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been taking this medicine for a week. My blood pressure has been uncontrollable, and I have been having headaches. I was diagnosed with juvenile RA and haven't had to take any medicine. I was trying it to see if it helps for occasional pain. I believe I will stop it and do more natural things. Don't like how I was feeling."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Has anyone tried this after Humira? I was on Humira for years and did great, but had to stop when I couldn't afford it because I was student teaching. Fast forward about 4 years later and wanted to get back on it... been on for a year but not seeing the same result after restarting... granted, I haven't always been able to be consistent with it because the mail-order specialty pharmacy my insurance uses is a mess."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "My doctor has recently asked me to start Rinvoq. I’ve had RA for 24 years and have been on Methotrexate, sulfasalazine, Plaquenil, Enbrel, Orencia, Kevzara, and Cimzia. I’ve had multiple foot surgeries to correct deformities. I’m so bad now I’m wondering if I can continue to drive a car. I can barely lace my shoes. I finally acquired a bad infection and have spent months on IV meds plus another surgery. I thought things couldn’t be much worse, but after reading the reports of all of these horrible side effects, I realize things could be MUCH worse. I’ll eat the cost of this drug this month, but I won’t take it. How does the FDA allow drugs like this to be released? How can it be effective when you pay for it in misery?"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I’ve had RA for 20 years, treated with a dozen different meds. Started Rinvoq about a month after having Covid and soon developed strong headaches; I’ve never really had headaches before (I’m 54). It hurt to move my eyes; difficult to even watch TV. My rheumatologist told me to drop Rinvoq, and the headaches got better immediately… but didn’t 100% disappear. Now just low-grade. I started wondering if they were a leftover issue from Covid, so after 2 weeks, I restarted Rinvoq. Noticed my energy level and mood dropped right away, BUT joint pain did, too. I switched to taking it at night, and that helped with fatigue. But, a month and a half in, the headaches are returning daily, I’m dragging through the day, and I’m feeling discouraged, wondering if this will just be life from now on. Joint pain seems to be returning, too. I used to think crushing fatigue was a result of RA flares, and now I’m beginning to think it’s actually from the meds."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Rinvoq, 15 mg daily, has been a miracle for my RA symptoms, which had not responded well or consistently to many others of the usual oral and/or injectable medications. Low-level disease activity now, and very thankful. Initially, I did not even register any negative side effects, however, over time-just over a year-I am experiencing weight gain, iron deficiency, and a mild drop in white blood cells. Doctor is monitoring this-query due to Rinvoq? I hope NOT!"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Severe respiratory issues, shortness of breath, small skin sores all over my body, and fatigue. I've had severe rheumatoid arthritis for some 35 years now. I've been on pretty much every medication available, with some of them giving pretty severe reactions. In my case, Rinvoq has been one of the more difficult medications regarding the side effects I've experienced. Having said that, we're all different, what affects one may not cause the same issues with another."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was diagnosed with RA in 2020. I was first put on hydroxychloroquine, then methotrexate, which did not work for me, then Rinvoq. I took Rinvoq for 3 months and started to feel the drug working well on the RA. I had less stiffness and pain, but between the third and fourth month, I started to feel my heart beating rapidly, like it was on a treadmill. I had to stop taking it, and now I have to see a cardiologist. The drug was working, but my heart could not tolerate it."

For Ulcerative Colitis "I have had ulcerative colitis for forty plus years. I've been on steroids off and on, then had an infusion that did not work. So, I'm trying this. My situation is that they can't cut it out because it is the lower part. That would be a last resort."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I suffered from severe pain all over my body from my teenage years onward, no one really listened to me about it. A few doctors diagnosed me with tendonitis. Well, finally as an adult, I decided to take control of my own health. After endless years of suffering, in 2015, at the age of 43, I finally went to a rheumatologist and was diagnosed with RA. I tried Methotrexate for some time, it did provide some relief, but not too much. I moved out of state in 2022 and found a great RA doctor. After explaining to me how much at risk I was of damaging my joints and my body if I did not treat this inflammation, I agreed with him to try Rinvoq. I have been on it for 2 years now, and it literally has changed my life. I can walk the mall without having to sit down, I can drive without my toes cramping up in pain. If I feel like I'm getting the sniffles (which is very rare), I will stop the drug for a week. My blood work has never looked better, my RA is finally under control."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "For close to a year, I suffered each day with chronic pain. Misdiagnosis and the wrong prescriptions. My dermatologist confirmed that I had psoriatic arthritis with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis of the hands and feet. She initially gave me Tremfya, but after 16 weeks, my pain had subsided from the arthritis, but my hands and feet were worse. Deep, painful fissures in my skin that would bleed if I walked or pet my dog. I started Rinvoq on a low dose, and within a few days, saw major gains. I’m now on my 3rd week and had to increase the dosage because I began to plateau, but my hands and feet, which had become unrecognizable, are almost back to normal. The only side effect I’ve noticed is similar to mild heartburn/mild upset stomach. I had so much fatigue from pain that since being on Rinvoq, I feel like I’m getting my energy back. I’m cautiously optimistic and extremely grateful."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been taking Rinvoq for a number of years to combat my arthritis. I have seen incremental reduction in pain levels and local swelling after a few years of 15 mg/day. I haven't experienced any serious side effects while taking this drug."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I started Rinvoq 3 weeks ago, and it eased the pain right away. However, after taking it for a week, I felt fatigued and tired all the time, had low energy, and was irritable. Then my vision started getting bad, and I became overly hungry. After 2 weeks, I had enough and stopped taking the medication. I have been off the medication for almost a week now, and my vision is coming back."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "My lab results are good. My level of fatigue did not change, but seems to work as good as Enbrel, Humira, and Actemra. They all worked well up until 3 years, and then they stopped. Coming up on the 3-year mark with Rinvoq."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Rinvoq has been a lifesaver for me. I went from being invalid, so fatigued that emptying the dishwasher had me experiencing excruciating flares, to being able to put in a 5-hour day around the house with very little pain. I was on prednisone, methotrexate, and Cimzia and had a very bad reaction to one of those drugs. The longer I have been on Rinvoq, the better my symptoms improve. I have a very low dose, but I may talk to my rheumatologist about going up to the next dose. No regrets."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was diagnosed with RA in 2019. I tried Rinvoq first with side effects of depression, acne, etc. I stopped taking that, then my RA doctor put me on Methotrexate, the shots. Lucky I had very good insurance, very expensive. The side effects are bad, I learned it was a chemo drug when all my hair fell out. Stopped taking that. My doctor said I would have to start infusion, really. I asked about other alternatives, e.g., diet or herbal remedies. The doctor did not want to hear it. I no longer have a job, no insurance, and no doctor. I keep looking for relief and pray every day to God. I pray each of you will find relief. Take care, and God bless you. CB"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been taking Rinvoq, and I have gained 18 pounds in four months. It’s helped my RA, okay, but I do have big flares once a month. I tapered the drug down to one every other day myself. I am so depressed too. I have never been so big in my life. I am not liking this drug but don’t want to go on steroids again, I was on them for 7 years. I have tried all the RA drugs."

For Crohn's Disease "I rate this a 5 in hopes that it works for you. I’ve been on it for 3 months. 1 month in, I felt horrible for two weeks, but then I started showing improvement and thought I was headed for remission. Now, at the 3-month mark, I’m in a bad flare again and have a terrible hemorrhoid. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s working for me. I hope it works for you. P.S. I was on Humira for 5 years with no issue until it stopped working. Prior to that, I was on Remicade for several years in remission. Before that, I had a couple of surgeries (resection and fissure/fistula repair when I was younger) when I was on no maintenance medication."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "This medication is excellent so far. I have been taking it for about 4 or 5 months, and I can tell a noticeable difference in my flares and pain levels for the psoriatic arthritis. The most incredible thing about this medication is that it cleared my skin in only a few weeks. I have psoriasis on my joints (over knuckles, knees, elbows, etc.), the palms of my hands, the soles of my feet, and my wrists. They are all much better. I hope they approve this for just the skin condition soon so those who need it can find relief."

For Atopic Dermatitis "With my asthma and atopic dermatitis (AD), I’ve been on various medications. I’ve never had reactions. Two days in using Rinvoq, I had severe eye swelling, lip swelling, and face swelling. Pins and needles all over my body. I also had zero energy, vomiting, and intense dizziness. This drug has a black box warning for a reason. There are so many other options, truly not worth it."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I'm a 60-year-old male and have had atopic dermatitis for around 12 years. It appeared suddenly with no apparent cause. Over the years, I've been on ciclosporin, dupilumab, and tralokinumab. All resulted in side effects - opportunistic infections with ciclosporin and significant eye irritation and inflammation with the biologics. Started taking Rinvoq 30 mg daily in Autumn 2022, and at first, it was very effective - no skin irritation or itching. However, I developed a nasty herpes simplex viral infection after around 5 months, which floored me completely. Felt as bad or even worse than I had with COVID. Only cleared up after a course of antivirals (acyclovir). After discussion with my dermatologist, I stopped taking Rinvoq, but now my eczema has returned with a vengeance. Large patches of inflammation all over my body, and it's now starting to keep me awake at night. Feel I have no option but to restart Rinvoq, but going to try a lower dose of 15 mg per day as suggested by my dermatologist."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Started Rinvoq 4-5 weeks ago, and the past 3 weeks I’ve had extreme cystic acne appear! It started on my scalp, then around my hairline, behind my ears on my neck. Now it’s all over my chest and my back. I’ve never had skin issues, and this is ruining my skin!"
