Upadacitinib "Rinvoq is literally a godsend. Within one week, my RA calmed down, and I haven’t had a flare since. I also have an undiagnosed stomach issue that I believe is IBS-C, and within one month of taking Rinvoq, all symptoms disappeared! I didn’t get the correct paperwork to Abbie for the trial, and I went without for 4 weeks. I have been absolutely miserable! All symptoms returned with a vengeance!"

"I was on Humira, but it wasn’t lasting two weeks. My rheum wanted to try another injectable, but my insurance wouldn’t cover it until I failed this class of meds. This is the worst my RA has ever been! This seems to do worse than nothing! I have a bunch of edema in my feet and ankles now, too, not to mention what is in my knuckles. I can barely open a door handle by myself now, and I am only 40."

Upadacitinib "Was invited on a new drug trial after 4 years of various viral infections; pleural effusions; pneumonia, shingles, etc. and none of the 4 or 5 treatments I went through were very effective. I was reliant on prednisone for pain relief. Within a month of starting the trial on Rinvoq, my flares stopped, joint pain and swelling gone, and to this day (now 10 years+) no viruses and no hospital visits. Over the last couple of years (I'm now 68), I've had some significant weight loss and diarrhea for which, after internal cameras and scans, has cleared me of nasties. I'm back to the rheumatologist in a couple of weeks for checkup and recommendation on pain relief for chronic back problems. Great to get older... Personally, this drug gave me back my life."

Upadacitinib "I have taken Rinvoq 15 mg since February 2024. It has turned my life around in terms of rheumatoid arthritis - I am more active, with less fatigue and much less pain. However, I have been sicker in this last year than ever before - pneumonia, RSV, COVID, one bout of cellulitis. Bloodwork is fine. Now, I am flare-free and only have some dull aches in my thumbs when I lift something like a half-gallon carton of milk. Before Rinvoq, I was on the classic triple therapy - methotrexate injections, max dose of sulfasalazine, and max dose of hydroxychloroquine. And while it worked for more than 10 years, those meds stopped being effective - I had almost daily new flares in my hands, wrists, and ankles."
