Triamcinolone topical for Atopic Dermatitis "I had pain in the canals of my ears, which prevented me from wearing hearing aids. The audiologist provided me with medication that was supposed to prevent this condition. It didn't help at all. When I visited my doctor at the VA Clinic, she asked me if I was wearing my hearing aids. I told her of my problem with ear pain, and she prescribed Triamcinolone Acetonide 0.1% with the comment, 'See if this helps you.' After applying it to my ear canal, there was an immediate soothing effect, and by the next day, the pain was gone. The pain returns in about a month but disappears again with another application. It does not cure the problem but does give almost immediate and long-lasting pain relief."

For Psoriasis "Kenalog is a fantastic cream. I couldn't do without it. I also will get psoriasis inside my nose, and I use Cortaid spray for 2-3 days to make it go away. I saw that Cortaid has triamcinolone in it and tried it, and it worked. There is also an over-the-counter body lotion that is great... Curel Itch Defense works basically as well as Kenalog, except in extreme cases, so I save money on the Rx."

For Eczema "I use the triamcinolone ointment, not the cream. The cream seemed to make the skin worse, but the ointment cleared it right up in about a week. You really do need to apply 2 to 3 times a day and keep the area moisturized."

For Atopic Dermatitis "So I've had dermatitis for the last 10 years or so, and nothing has helped at all. I've tried so many creams, gels, natural remedies, soaps, diet changes, etc. Sadly, the dermatitis is only on my face, which drives me nuts. I went to a new doctor a couple of weeks ago during a breakout and told her all of the above. She mentioned this gel that I wasn't sure about because I don't really want to use these heavy-duty medicines on my face, but I told her I'd give it a try since I am at the end of my rope with this. In the two weeks or so that I've been using this, my redness and dry, flaky skin have disappeared. I noticed a big difference after the first day. My skin has not been clear like this in a decade, and I can't believe it. I'd like to incorporate other products with this so I can alternate, so that I don't build up too much of a tolerance, but this product has changed my life!"

Triamcinolone topical for Psoriasis "I have been getting Kenalog injections for over 30 years, and it has been amazing. It now helps with psoriatic arthritis, but I do suffer some of the side effects like a mild cough, severe indigestion (apple cider vinegar keeps it in check), and swelling of the ankles. I am thankful this worked for me, even with the side effects, having had severe outbreaks since I was 10 up in my 30s until I found my dermatologist."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I have had atopic dermatitis since birth. During puberty, it was horrible! Skin was itchy and oozed constantly. Had it on my arms, hands, wrists, and face. NOTHING I ever used (and I've used just about everything) helped. As I've gotten older, it improved, but in the winter months, it would flare up. At a doctor's appointment for something completely different, I mentioned my severely dry and itchy arms and hands. The doctor prescribed triamcinolone ointment...WOW!! Arms and hands are soft and don't itch! Directions say to use 3 times daily, but I use it every other night after a hot bath. This was a miracle medication for me!"

Triamcinolone topical for Atopic Dermatitis "I've had dermatitis for 16 years. It started as mild eczema on my hands, but within a year, it went from mild to wild! Woke up one morning and both my forearms were swollen, red, itching, burning, and leaking fluid when pushed against. 3 pitting edema. From that point on, over the next few years, it spread to my torso, legs, back, scalp, and face. Topical creams no longer worked, I was put on prednisone dose packs, but over time, prednisone was causing terrible side effects, i.e., moon face, hyperglycemia, depression, agitation, oral thrush, etc. I was then put on Kenalog 40 mg every 3-4 weeks, but then Kenalog created new side effects. Now I have to take 80 mg of Kenalog and methotrexate. Works, but my life is a wreck."

For Dermatitis "I used this cream for the first time and within minutes started feeling multiple side effects listed on the sheet-throat tightening, short of breath, confusion, thirst. I quickly washed it off and took an allergy pill. Have tried 3 medications for my breast rash that the doctor provided, and I've had reactions to all."

For Dermatitis "I went to the dermatologist a couple of weeks ago, and I had pretty bad eczema on my hands for about 3 years. It started on my wrist and then disappeared, and it started on my hands and fingers. It would worsen around spring and summer. I never went to the dermatologist (for money reasons), but they prescribed me this cream, and my eczema already looked better in the first 3 days, and I love it. My eczema is almost gone, and my derm sent me to Walmart to get it, and it was just $4 (:"

Triamcinolone topical for Aphthous Ulcer "This works incredibly well on the horrible mouth ulcers I have suffered on and off with since childhood. Not using a toothpaste with SLS has greatly diminished their frequency. But when I do get them now, I apply a little paste and they’re usually gone within a day or two, rather than a week or two. It’s a miracle cure!!!"

Triamcinolone topical "I used to get a shot of this for my psoriasis, and it did clear up everything in less than a week. However, I found that the lesions returned within a few months (3). I was advised to not get the Kenalog shots more than twice a year because I have a slightly higher enzyme count in my liver."

For Eczema "I started using this medication for a week on my lifelong skin dermatitis, and it made my skin angry and made it way worse. My skin began blistering and getting swollen and red. They put me on an antibiotic and a different cream. I’ll be seeing a dermatologist tomorrow to see if we can fix this."

For Dermatitis "I started getting these contact dermatitis issues back in the summer of last year. I had suffered these flaky, itchy red rashes on my eyelids, started getting urticaria, it has appeared on both sides of the forehead, the neck, back of the knees, back of the elbows, and between my thighs. And I mistakenly went to a doctor, and I was prescribed triamcinolone cream, and I applied it once a day. Because of how strong the cream was, I used my fingers as the tissue just absorbs it. It went away within a few days, but the dermatitis (result of hot showers, dust mites, cold dry air) had allowed it to come back in a matter of days. At the same time, I was trying various OTC antihistamines, in which diphenhydramine worked the best but made me so sleepy."

For Dermatitis "I've suffered with flare-ups of dermatitis all my life, and this is the best prescription-strength cream that I've ever used. Within a few days, the irritated areas have disappeared. I love it. Sure beats all those oatmeal baths I took as a kid."

Triamcinolone topical for Psoriasis "I got the Kenalog injection for my sinuses, and it was a nice surprise to have it clear up my scalp psoriasis. I had never been able to wear dark shirts, and it constantly itches. It’s embarrassing. But now, after a week or so, it goes away for 6 months. This last time, a new PA informed me of bone density being affected by the shot. But weighing the options right now, the shot is worth it. I’m 49 and have suffered for years and years."

Triamcinolone topical for Eczema "I received no more than 3 Kenalog 10 injections in 2 years to help with eczema flare-ups. 2 years after my last injection, my tissue and muscle showed wasting at the injection site. Since this site was my glute, it was incredibly painful to sit and contributed to other pains and aches due to overcompensation. I had to receive Platelet Rich Plasma treatment to rejuvenate tissue and muscle growth in the area. Proceed with caution."

For Dermatitis "Triamcinolone in the ointment formation is a miracle! Every winter, beginning of the season, I get a couple patches of dermatitis. Always seems to be around my nose. Tried hydrocortisone and so many others...nothing. Kenolog ointment (generic) literally knocked it out in 2 days! Every time. My fiancé started getting it as well when he saw the results! I only use very little because it is on my face. But it is incredible!"

For Dermatitis "I've had 2 really bad bouts of poison (ivy, oak, sumac) in the past 2 months. One dermatologist prescribed triamcinolone acetonide ointment (0.1%) for the first reaction, and an urgent care physician prescribed triamcinolone acetonide cream (0.1%) for the second reaction, and neither provided an ounce of relief. I haven't gotten more than a couple of hours of sleep in days due to incessant itching and burning. The dermatologist prescribed a 20 mg day prednisone taper, which took well into the second week to start showing signs of improvement. The urgent care physician gave me a steroid shot on site and a 6-day prednisone taper. Within an hour or so of the shot, I began to feel slight relief from itching, but it came back on my arms by nightfall. I'm ready for amputation to get away from the itch."

For Atopic Dermatitis "I suffered with eczema on my face for years. I would put triamcinolone on my face nightly, and it would clear it up. To keep my eczema away, I would have to use this medicine nightly. It became a habit just to try to keep my eczema away. Triamcinolone has steroids in it, those steroids can break the skin barrier on your face. After using it for a long period of time, that is exactly what happened to me. I broke the skin barrier on my face and didn’t even realize it. My skin got so used to the triamcinolone that when I stopped using it, my face would break out in a rash around my mouth and nose. I now suffer from perioral dermatitis and periocular dermatitis. It is caused by using too many steroids. I have now stopped using triamcinolone completely to try and recover my skin barrier."

For Dermatitis "Red, itching rash on the inside of the right arm. 1% prescribed by dermatologist to be used twice a day. Have used it for 21 days and have not been given any relief. Will see doctor again in two days for a solution as this has not helped, other than giving some immediate itching relief for a brief time."

For Psoriasis "Used this for two weeks for inverse psoriasis, worked like a charm. I only used it in the worst places because one possible side effect is raising your blood sugar, and I can't afford that. Where I put it, the psoriasis disappeared, and right next to it the parts I hadn't covered stayed the same. For me, this stuff rocks."

Triamcinolone topical for Psoriasis "I have suffered with severe psoriasis since 1995. Creams and ointments are ineffective and very impractical, as I tend to have flares involving most of my body, feet and hands being the worst. I’ve had many injections of Kenalog over the years, and it is highly effective. I generally get rebound about 4 to 5 weeks after the injection and dampen that with hydroxyzine. Last year, after my first Covid booster, I started a severe cycle of flaring. Most dermatologists will not give Kenalog any more, and as a result, I’ve spiraled into a very severe case. I had to look up my old dermatologist 600 miles away and drive there for an injection. As I expected, I started to get relief from itching and clearing of my symptoms within 6 hours. It’s going to take 2 more injections to get 100% clear. In my case, Kenalog is amazing, it’s cheap and highly effective. I’ve tried Skyrizi (expensive) and light treatment as well, and nothing works like Kenalog."

For Psoriasis "I have had a few breakouts of guetal psoriasis, and this cream is great. It clears up in about 2-4 days (depending on severity) of applying this cream. I don't have any itching with my psoriasis, but I do tend to get 'dry winter itch,' and this greatly reduces the itching for that, though."

Triamcinolone topical "I too had an injection of Kenalog 10 in my face. After the first 3 weeks, I noticed a dime-sized dent on my cheek. Called the doctor who did the injection, came back to the office. But before that, I researched the internet and found a link where 4 people who had a Kenalog injection got saline injected in the same spot the Kenalog was and could possibly help flush out or decrease the effects of Kenalog working its full term of 6 weeks. I showed the doctor this link on this study, and he agreed maybe saline, which acts like water, can help. This study showed 4 people went every week for 8 weeks and had the same amount of saline injected in the area. All 4 people had great results."
