For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have lost 20 lbs in 3 1/2 months on Zepbound taking 2.5, 5.0, and 7.5 mg so far as per plan and dosage increases. I plan to use 5 mg for maintenance dosage now that I am almost at my goal weight. It is very simple to use. I had some GERD, nausea, and adjustments to make with certain foods, but that subsided after the first few months. You definitely cannot overeat as you will not feel well. The exhaustion and body aches are what bother me the most. For the first 3 days after an injection, I am so tired that it impacts what I can get done in a day, including energy to exercise and do my job during the day. I am sleeping okay with it, but the fatigue is almost debilitating."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started my Zepbound journey in August 2024. I have been on .50 the whole time. I've lost 40 lbs using this medicine, which is amazing! In February, out of nowhere, I started to get side effects after my shot: nausea and diarrhea. Thinking it was the flu, I nursed myself back. Shot day is Wednesdays. On Saturday, the diarrhea came back again. I truly am excited for my weight loss journey but am literally pooped out."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on the shot for 5 months now, and at first, the appetite suppression was strong, with no side effects. After I went up in dose month two, I had extreme bloating and nausea to the point where I nearly took myself to the emergency room. Since then, the side effects have gone down, and the only one I deal with regularly is heartburn. Ask your doctor for Zantac and keep it and Tums on you at all times. Thankfully, it has mostly subsided, and I'm down 80 pounds with moderate exercise in 5 months. I have basically 0 appetite most days and have grown to work with it. I'd give it a 4/5. It's not easy, but if you're serious about losing weight and taking back control of your body, do it. Make sure you work out and follow a strict diet while you're doing it to get the most out of the medication. ALSO! Go to the manufacturer Lilly's website and sign up for the savers card. Saves me $300 a month with insurance."

"I was prescribed Zepbound as a minor by my PCP since a close relative had great improvement of symptoms on the drug. I had moderate/severe side effects, including severe abdominal pain, complete lack of appetite leading to hypoglycemia, exhaustion and weakness, increased stress, nausea, IBS flare-ups, and significantly increased suicidality. While my lab results showed improvement, my physical and mental well-being plummeted. I was told that side effects would subside and that they were mild, but unfortunately my side effects did not subside and were unmanageable for me. Luckily, I was able to convince my doctor that it wasn’t working after a few more months and am now off the drug."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 49-year-old female. Started on 2.5 mg of Zepbound at 201. Lost some weight quickly and got to 191, then stopped. Second month, they bumped me to 5 mg. I only got sick once. It was nausea. I started losing again. Got down to 185. Then, for reasons I can’t explain, I gained 2 lbs despite walking and tracking food. On my 3rd shot, I was very lethargic for a whole weekend after the shot. I have no energy, and I am taking nothing else. I hope it goes away soon and I start losing again. It’s not a magic bullet. You have to track your food and exercise too (which is hard with lethargy)."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 5'2" and 46 years old. I started Zepbound on 8/20/2024 at 166 pounds. I took the 2.5 mg dose for one month, then increased to 5 mg in Oct. and Nov. I had very mild side effects, and I steadily lost weight until last week. I have now increased to the 7.5 mg dose, and the nausea and diarrhea are pronounced. I'm down 30 pounds, but I may switch back to the 5 mg dose if the side effects don't subside."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Flu-like symptoms, nausea, discomfort after eating anything. Broth has been my go-to. Very fatigued. Hoping week 2 will be better. Today is day 7. No appetite, no energy. There's not an option for maybe. One week isn’t enough time to give recommendations."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started using Zepbound on October 31st of this year. The beginning dosage was 2.5 mg. I started to lose 1-3 lbs. a week. The dosage was increased to 5 mg, which I started on the 4th week. Current total loss of 11.5 lbs. My provider has suggested that I increase the dose to 7.5 mg for my next refill. I do have side effects: nausea, constipation, dry mouth. My appetite has diminished, but I have to make a conscientious effort to eat. Cravings for specific foods have gone as well. I have a fear of needles, but do not feel the injections or any discomfort associated with normal 'shots.' Overall, my experience has been a good one, but it is still early."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Severe nausea, horrid vomiting and diarrhea after 7.5 mg dose - did okay with 2.5 and 5 mg doses - there should be more warnings with the higher doses as this was severe. Higher doses should be reviewed further for safety reasons."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 55-year-old female, 5’7 starting weight 250, started Zepbound 6 weeks ago. 1st month, 2.5 — moved up to 5 2nd month. Probably the most annoying, almost immediate side effects were GERD, bloating, and constipation. However, this did improve quickly when I added more fiber, avoided high-fat, saucy foods, and ate less. I do agree with the others… that it definitely helps your “hunger-food brain.” I can skip a meal without even noticing. I fill up eating a quarter to half of what I would normally eat. I begin getting nauseated while I eat, which makes me stop eating, of course. Now that I've increased from 2.5 to 5, the nausea is a little worse, but intermittent and tolerable. Hoping this will improve once my body adjusts. Overall, still very thankful for this opportunity to try Zepbound. I'm trying to find some type of a meal plan to follow, with sufficient protein and fiber, as well as other foods or supplements to prevent muscle loss, hair loss, constipation, and fatigue."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Zepbound on July 1, 2024, after much research and many discussions with my primary care provider. My insurance did not cover the cost and, at that time, it was difficult to get access to some of the other weight loss drugs. I was able to get Zepbound at my local Walmart Pharmacy and decided to go for it in spite of the cost. At the beginning of my weight loss journey, I was 74 years old, 5'5" and 190 lbs. I started at the lowest dose, 2.5 mg, and began losing weight right away. The only side effect I experienced was slight nausea for a day or so after each injection. It also lowered my blood pressure and I was able to stop taking blood pressure medication. I never exceeded the 7.5 mg dose and am still using it sporadically (probably not the proper way to go about it). I was able to go from 190 lbs. down to 135 lbs. in 9 months."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Zepbound late January. I was generally a small person and was the same size for over 25 years. However, with menopause and COVID combination, I gained over 25 pounds and my BMI went from a 24 to a 30 in the past 4 years. Both of my parents were diabetic, therefore, my risk factors were great. Initially, I felt nauseous for a few days, but the nausea went away. I started on 2.5 mg and lost 13 pounds in the first month. Moved to 5 mg the second month. I was down 18 pounds after month 2. No side effects from the meds. I went to 7.5 for the 3rd month and am still on it. I have lost 24 pounds. I am also exercising more. I try to put in 10k steps at least 5 days a week and exercise for 30 minutes 4 days a week. I am 5'2 and started at 166 pounds. I am down to 142 now and have more energy. My A1C was 6.1 when I started and is now 5.7. My cholesterol did go up from 212 to 267, however, I attribute this to the rapid weight loss and will test again in 6 months."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Zepbound made weight loss easy. I have lost 40-50 pounds on it. Very little side effects outside of a little nausea occasionally. It’s so easy to use with the prefilled injector. I am now maintaining, and my doctor is happy with my weight. I’m so excited, I haven’t been this thin in 30 years! The only downside for me is the cost. It’s quite expensive even with the coupon. I’m not sure how much longer I can keep paying at this price."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "First dose 2.5 today, and already my appetite is none. I only ate a very small portion plate and drank nothing but water. It wasn't until I tried to have my daily cup of coffee when I felt very nauseated after only a few steps. Day 1, and I'm here to say I know it's going to work out (I'm hoping I can build my coffee/frappe tolerance back up, I LOVE my coffee)."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "On week 5 of Zep. Goal to lose 20-25 lbs. Received a 2.5 mg 'loading' dose, I split it into 1.25 doses 3 days apart for the first 2 weeks as I tend to react strongly to meds. I had a bit of anxiety and fatigue on this dose and appetite suppression that waned by week 2, so I increased to 2.5 in one shot for weeks 3 and 4. Less anxiety/fatigue but more nausea and constipation, still manageable. I received a 5 mg dose in the mail at week 4 but had already lost 15 lbs on the 2.5 dose for 4 weeks. Week 5 - I tried the 5 mg. The next day, I was so sick to my stomach and nauseous that I struggled to eat or drink at all. I was dizzy and felt terrible, depressed, and kept getting the long bouts of hiccups. I will be at goal soon and plan to switch to metformin to maintain weight. For me, this med is miraculous, but I do not feel great on it. (For reference - I have a mental health diagnosis and pre-existing mild gastrointestinal issues, MTHFR gene variant)"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have only taken it for 5 weeks. I have had a lot of nausea and acid reflux. Hopefully, they go away, but when I started, I weighed 174, and 5 weeks later, I am at 165, so it's working. Side effects seem to be decreasing, so I'll keep going for now."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have had great success with Zepbound, currently on 15 mg. Been on it for 6 months, 67 lbs down. Went from a size 20 pants to a 12. I have had some nausea and vomiting. It’s easy to use. I’m squeamish when it comes to shots, so for the first 2 months, my husband had to inject me. I got used to it and can now do it on my own. I feel so much better about myself and so much healthier."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Zepbound for almost 3 months now. I've been at 2.5 the whole time as we are struggling to get any higher doses from back order. I have lost over 20 pounds already. My first shot, my side effects weren't horrible, but I also deal with nausea daily. I also had really bad pain in my upper back, neck, and shoulders like I had whiplash, but that was gone after 48 hours and was nowhere near as bad the 2nd shot. And then nothing after that. This past week though, I've been waking up starving, like I haven't eaten in days. I normally eat dinner around 5:30ish and have a small snack around 8ish, and I haven't had this before. The only other thing I've noticed and just read it could be a side effect is my hands have been super itchy, like I'm having an allergic reaction to something, which I've been thinking that's what's going on. But overall, my side effects have been very minimal, and the benefits majorly outweigh them."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve been on Zepbound since 8/1/24 (305 lbs, 5’6). So far, I lost 65 lbs, I’m 45 lbs away from my goal. My current dose is 10 mg. I experience side effects within 24 hours of injection administration, ranging from nausea, vomiting, belching, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fatigue, and dizziness. The side effects last about 24-36 hours. The medication definitely decreases my appetite and cravings. My doctor stopped my BP medication as I continue losing weight and my BP readings are good. My husband has noticed that I stopped snoring, lol. My plan is to reach my weight goal and stop the medication. I have changed my relationship with food. I look at food more as fuel for my body instead of indulging and overeating. I also introduced portion control and exercise, mostly walking and swimming. My insurance covers the medication."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am in the middle of my second month of 5 mg doses, after a month with 2.5 mg doses, and will go to 7.5 mg after done with this monthly 5 mg dose. I am an 81-year-old male, 5’7”. I started at a weight of 226.6 lbs the first week in May 2025. My current weight is 205.6! And my blood pressure, with the same blood pressure medication dose, is now consistently normal, in the under 220 over low 70s! Amazing. No side effects other than slight nausea. Eating moderately and eating healthy foods. Working out at the gym 3-4 times a week. Hydrating vigorously and taking over-the-counter Miralax to prevent constipation. No insurance help. Acquiring Zepbound through LilyDirect. I am retired, and the cost is a real hardship for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am happy with the results so far. I have lost 29 lbs in 13 weeks. My goal is 75 lb weight loss. My appetite is far less, and my cravings for sugar have much improved. I have had some constipation and 1 or 2 episodes of nausea but did not vomit. You have to drink water! I started on 2.5 mg and was increased to 5 mg. I'm worried to go to a higher dose due to potential increased side effects, as I have a history of kidney issues. However, since I started the medicine, my Hga1c is normal and lipid panel perfect."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 45-year-old female starting weight 243... I just took my fifth shot a few minutes ago, and I have lost a total of 26 lb since my first shot. Food noise is completely gone, and I find myself not able to eat anything until the day before my shot. I do drink a lot of water and have no cravings for sweets like I used to. I have done moderate exercise in the evening and tried to force myself to eat some source of protein throughout the day. I also take women's one-a-day gummies and I feel fantastic! The very first shot I took, the first few days I felt horrible, like I had the flu and had been hit by a bus. Since then, no side effects except for very mild nausea, which I take promethazine to help, and it does wonders. My sleeping patterns have gotten better, and my energy has increased. It states for my age and height at 5'9, I should weigh 167. I honestly feel like I would look very sickly if I got that small, so my goal is basically just to fit in my pants from last summer, lol."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I began this treatment in April. It is now mid-September. I have lost 20 pounds. It is very easy to use, which is a big deal for those who have a needle phobia. In the beginning, I had very few side effects. After going to the 7.5 mg dose, I started to experience constipation and nausea. To combat this, I began a small fiber intake routine and requested Zofran from my doctor. Both are very effective for those side effects. I am now on a 12.5 mg dose and doing well. I feel I am close to a maintenance dose. This medication was quite effective. I am a small person, menopausal, and struggled with losing weight. Losing 20 lbs for my size is a very big deal. Through this process, I have learned better eating habits, keeping my portions small to maintain a healthy weight and continuing my exercise routine even if I am not losing weight. All in all, this was a win-win for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It was rough in the beginning, with diarrhea, then constipation and heavy belching. The diarrhea ended after about a month, but constipation has continued. In addition to those symptoms, I experienced an undercurrent of nausea for several months, with it being more pronounced just after eating. After about eight months, the nausea abated for the most part. I started on the 2.5 and moved up in dosage every 2 months or so. I am entering month 10 and am on the 12.5 dosage. For the first 6-7 months, I lost approximately 1.5 lbs/wk, and over the last 2-3 months that has slowed down a little. I have lost a total of 50 lbs. The other side effect I've experienced is I sometimes have low blood sugar in the mornings, so I will have juice or something to help take care of it. It is easy to use, and despite the rough start, I am pleased with the results."
