"Taking for obesity. Has reduced my appetite but not as dramatically as others here. I eat about 500 fewer calories per day than I used to, thanks to the reduction in appetite. I have lost 16 pounds in 18 weeks. The only side effect is constipation, but as long as I eat a salad and oatmeal daily, that is no longer a problem. Stats: Female, age 56, 5’1”. Starting weight 183. Current weight 167. Started on 2.5. Now on 7.5. Hoping to lose another 45 pounds."

"I've been a yo-yo dieter for as long as I can remember. This is by far the best thing I've tried. I lost 11 lbs in the first week, this really does work to decrease your appetite! My diet doctor gives me injections and told me to follow what is essentially a keto diet (no carbs or sugar - 8 oz of protein and as many veggies as you want), in conjunction with intermittent fasting (16 hours fasting, 8 hours allowed to eat). There is NO WAY I'd make it through 16 hours of not eating without this! I feel very slight nausea sometimes after I eat, but not enough to affect my day-to-day activities. This is a game changer if you have struggled to lose weight as I have!"

"You do lose weight, but the waves of nausea, vomiting, severe constipation, and hypoglycemia are so unpleasant, and if you escalate and find it too much - it lasts for a whole week. Consider liraglutide daily, much easier to titrate, and if you escalate and find it too much, you can lower down and only have one day of downtime."

"The first month on 2.5, and it has been *very* effective. I selected weight loss above, but the real reason is I have been pre-diabetic for some time and the numbers are rising quickly. I am now extremely close to a diabetic diagnosis. It is hard to describe the change in food craving. It used to be as if my brain turned off when I was near food, so seeing candy in the drug store and buying and eating it were almost automatic, and I thought about it after I had bought the candy. Now I had a bowl of candy bars for Halloween and was not interested in eating one. I walked by it all day on Halloween and had no desire to eat it. This seems to work on food craving in much the same way Prozac works on mental obsessive negative thoughts. The only side effect I notice is a beginning tendency toward constipation. I am a bit needle-phobic, but the injections are sort of like a rubber band snap on the skin. It is extremely easy to use."

"I have slowly lost weight. I have taken it for 8 weeks and have lost 18 lbs on the 2.5 mg dose. It makes me very nauseous and causes GI upset. But overall, I think slow weight loss is probably best anyway for long term."

"I’m a 58-year-old woman. When I started Mounjaro, I was at 172 lbs. I am taking 5 mg. On the first injection of 5 mg, I had hives, but the next day, with allergy medication, it went away. I had a little bit of nausea off and on every time I took an injection. The worst part about this medicine is I feel cold all the time and fatigued. The fatigue goes away after a couple of days. I just took my 4th injection of 5 mg and will move up to 7.5 mg next week. So far, all good. I did notice I got pretty hungry 2 days before it was time to take my 4th 5 mg injection, which to me said it lost its effectiveness. I did struggle with those 2 days trying not to go back to old habits. I have lost 20 lbs since starting Mounjaro, and all of my blood work is much, much better. My A1C is down 2 points!"

"210 to 165 in three months. Started on 2.5ml and increased to 5.0ml after the first month. I went back to 2.5ml after the third month. I have been experiencing low blood pressure symptoms now at six months. My doctors are trying to balance my other medications which may be causing this."

"I was happy with the weight loss, but recently found out that I have developed pancreatitis. I don't drink, and I've never had pancreatitis before, so my doctor says it's due to the Mounjaro, and that I need to stop taking it. I'm bummed because I had lost 20 pounds and still need to lose 40 more."

"Started Dec 2024 and as of today June 2025 down 80 pounds! Started at 237 and now at 157. Have never had side effects and still on lowest dose 2.5. Have never had to go up to a higher dose. First month I lost about 25 pounds and then went down to losing 1-3 pounds every week. Every week is different but always lose some weekly. No cravings. Don’t eat much. A little bit of protein and veggies."

"Works well. The appetite suppression and quieting of “food noise” has been very effective. Unfortunately, I just saw my recent labs and discovered that my triglycerides are well over 500! This is very alarming since I do not consume large amounts of butter, fat, etc. Now I’m worried that I may have/get pancreatitis."

"6 weeks, 10 lbs down. I love this. It's better than the sleeve surgery that I also had because it not only fills you up with a few bites, but it completely eliminates the food obsession. You don't even think about food."

"21, F, 5’3”. 8-24 weighed 230 lbs, have had a history of overeating due to never feeling full. Unknown medical/family history due to being adopted. As of 5/25, I weigh 185 lbs (loss of 45 lbs). Initial dose for the first month was 2.5 mg, each month increased to my current dose of 7.5 mg. Most likely will keep it at my current dose, as I’m already only able to eat one meal a day. Make sure to eat proteins, nutrients, micros, and macros for the meals you can eat, drink lots of water, and work out when able. For the past 4 months I’ve had to decrease my normal workout routine from high-impact to low-impact with mild cardio (biking, swimming). While I’ve lost weight, I can also tell I’ve been losing a lot of my muscle density—my current plan is to increase my weight-bearing exercises. The only side effects I’ve experienced are very slight nausea (mainly from the sound of the injection) and slight lightheadedness if I haven’t eaten around the time of injection."

"Done well losing weight but aware that I'm losing lots of lean muscle mass, not just fat. Lilly says in one clinical trial that 1/3 of the weight we lose is LMM, not fat. Might be more than this. I have a sense that the muscles in my legs are weak. A bit wobbly. They are very strong -- I can power walk for miles. I can do heavy weight-bearing exercises at the gym. But still some sense of weakness. Might it be a nerve issue, not a muscle issue? I am stocky. A tall friend of mine on Mounjaro had none of the feeling of weakness even though he lost 100 pounds. BTW, it's crucial to take a body scan before you start Mounjaro to assess your LMM and assess how much LMM you're losing."

"First injection 5mg, 3 days ago and no issues with the injection but I do feel extremely tired! I’m not one to nap ever unless sick and I have napped the last 2 days. Also, very hard to eat, just don’t want to and the food does taste different but I just make myself eat small amounts throughout the day and drink lots of water. The weirdest thing is that I’m feeling cold!! We live in Florida by the beach, it's 104 degrees outside and I’m inside with a sweatshirt on, long pants, and my husband's thick socks."

"It has reduced my appetite by about 20 percent. I have lost 25 pounds in 10 months. I am still 40 pounds overweight. I am up to 10 mg dosage. Minimal side effects. It's a bit frustrating as I see others losing much more and much faster. It has helped but I still have a pretty hearty appetite. Minimal side effects."

"I have had great success with Mounjaro. I switched from Ozempic and the weight just started falling off. I feel like something was broken in me that is now fixed. I normally lose about 2 lbs a week on a 1200 calorie diet. My weight loss has gone from 2 lbs a week to 4-5 lbs a week. I don't understand how it works but I'm happy with my results."

"I have had great success with Mounjaro and experienced very few side effects. The injection site gets an itchy welt, but that isn't troublesome. It initially caused constipation, but that cleared up as soon as I started taking a stool softener at night. I no longer have food cravings for sugary treats, and I feel full much longer and am able to avoid overeating. I lost 45 lbs in 6 months, which was 25% of my body weight. I am using it with diet and exercise for the best results."

"Side effect I’d say I’ve had is a little bit of diarrhea and nausea. I’ve been on it for over a year now. I’ve lost over 140 pounds, still have a lot more to go, but it also helps control my type two diabetes, brought my A1c down from 10.8 to 4.6. Very happy with that, but I just had to have my appendix out right away because it was just about to rupture. Never had a problem with it until recently, so a coincidence or is it the medicine? Who knows, but I do know that this medicine has been a godsend for me. I do have gastroparesis along with IBS, and I tried to take Ozempic before this, and it about killed me, so an ambulance had to come and get me on the Ozempic. I do know I’m able to handle Mounjaro a lot easier on my system. If it wasn’t for Mounjaro, I don’t know where I’d be with my health right now, trying to raise three kids under the age of 14. So thank you."

"I'm a 67-year-old female and weighed 365 lbs when I began Mounjaro. In just under a year, I've lost 85 lbs. I'm now on the 10 mg dose. I only wish Medicare covered it because I don't know how much longer I can afford the $1,036 a month I pay out of pocket. The good news is that I now qualify for knee replacement surgery. I have struggled with obesity my whole life, and Mounjaro has been a godsend for me."

"I have lost 45 lbs. with Tirzepatide. I dieted down from 265 to 215 on my own. Started Tirzepatide at 215 lbs in April, continued my dieting and exercise and titrated up to 15 MG. 5 months later I am now at a goal weight of 170 lbs. There are side effects but they are diminishing as my body has learned to tolerate the drug. I no longer feel uncontrollable hunger... for the first time in my life I have experienced satiety."

"Started Mounjaro 5 months ago. Starting weight was 168. Had gained 30 lbs through several rounds of IVF. At 41 years old, the weight would not come off. Fast forward now 42, I consulted my Dr. and was prescribed Mounjaro. First 2 weeks mild nausea at lunchtime. So switched from a protein bar to banana. Stopped the nausea. Had a weird dislike for coffee, which I love. That never went away while taking Mounjaro. I ate very clean, chicken and veggies for dinner. Small plate, completely full. Increased my dosage slowly month to month and incorporated different foods. Only twice I had a very bad stomach reaction: ice cream and pizza. Do not recommend. As of today, I have been off Mounjaro for 2.5 weeks. Still losing weight! Down 44 lbs, feel great. Bloodwork is perfect. And this has forever changed my life for the better. Miracle drug! Healthier, happier, and hoping one day it is approved for weight-loss."

"I have been on Mounjaro for a year, and I have lost 20% of my body weight, and now I am nearing my target weight using 12.5 mg. I am a 60-year-old male, and I had developed metabolic syndrome as well as knee problems. My blood pressure is now normal, triglycerides are normal, and my joints don’t ache. I did not experience any notable side effects on Mounjaro."

"Mounjaro has been a blessing to me. I'm a 70-year-old male who was previously obese, had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes. I've had 2 heart attacks and received stents, as well as a knee replacement. I started with a low dose and quickly moved up to 10, then 15, over 6 months. I started at 290 pounds and now weigh 215. I'm 6'1" with wide shoulders and frame. I'm no longer obese. I've been on 12 medications and now down to 5. Metformin was just reduced at night due to low glucose alerts in the early hours on my CGM. Mounjaro has improved my life. It's easy to use and WORKS."

"I've been on Mounjaro for 12 weeks and I've lost 25kg (55lbs). Currently in the last week of 7.5mg. No major side effects, but I do have dry mouth (very, very dry mouth and throat) and dry lips, but other than that, nothing major. I have noticed on the 7.5mg the weight has drastically come off, in one week, I lost 7.5kg (16lbs), and in a couple of days, a further 4kg, but honestly, I can't complain!"
