Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "Done well losing weight but aware that I'm losing lots of lean muscle mass, not just fat. Lilly says in one clinical trial that 1/3 of the weight we lose is LMM, not fat. Might be more than this. I have a sense that the muscles in my legs are weak. A bit wobbly. They are very strong -- I can power walk for miles. I can do heavy weight-bearing exercises at the gym. But still some sense of weakness. Might it be a nerve issue, not a muscle issue? I am stocky. A tall friend of mine on Mounjaro had none of the feeling of weakness even though he lost 100 pounds. BTW, it's crucial to take a body scan before you start Mounjaro to assess your LMM and assess how much LMM you're losing."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "Obesity runs on my father's side and my weight gain has been a lifelong struggle. I did my best but by reaching 275lbs at 50 years old I knew I needed something more than all the traditional weight loss programs. I began taking Mounjaro in Nov 2022. My doctor did a low dose to start (1.5 mg). I experienced the more common side effects, sulfurous belching, heartburn, constipation for a day or two after the weekly injection, stomach feeling sour, etc. I manage these symptoms with my doctor's OTC recommendations. We advanced to a 5.0 mg dose and I continue to experience these side effects but they are becoming more manageable. It's the end of April and I've lost 40 lbs so far. I have more energy, manage my diet better/easier, and make better eating choices. I have just begun to experience hair loss and after reading the other reviews feel better knowing it too will pass. Please know your reviews including side effects, successes, and thoughts have been a huge help. ~Thanks"

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "Taking for obesity. Has reduced my appetite but not as dramatically as others here. I eat about 500 fewer calories per day than I used to, thanks to the reduction in appetite. I have lost 16 pounds in 18 weeks. The only side effect is constipation, but as long as I eat a salad and oatmeal daily, that is no longer a problem. Stats: Female, age 56, 5’1”. Starting weight 183. Current weight 167. Started on 2.5. Now on 7.5. Hoping to lose another 45 pounds."

Zepbound (tirzepatide) "5'4 female. Was 254, but lost weight by working out and came down to 234, which was not good enough. Started Zepbound 2.5 which was extremely hard for me to find. Had to wait months before I found a pharmacy that had it. I just took my second shot. No side effects (so far, knock on wood). I did weigh myself 2 days after I started taking it and lost 5lbs so now 229lb. But I think it's from working out, not Zepbound. I work out almost 7 days a week, maybe take 1 day off. I do 2-2.5 miles on weekdays & 3-4 on weekends. So I am hoping to lose more weight faster. But so far so good. I read so many reviews! I am just praying that getting my 5ml in 2 weeks won't be an issue. The needle is not painful and it is super easy to use! The spot I place the shot in is a little tender afterwards with a slight amount of blood after injection. I will weigh myself again maybe tomorrow after a week of taking it! I have zero desire to eat and don't eat much, so I have smaller meals."

Zepbound (tirzepatide) "Six years ago (at age 45) I was diagnosed with peri-menopause and insulin resistance. I put on about 30 lbs and seemed powerless to stop it or lose it! I’m 5’10 so can carry more weight better than most, but still my BMI was high and I just felt unwell. My GYN had me try several things like Ozempic, Metformin and hormone patches. The hormone patches helped tremendously with peri-menopause symptoms, but the weight was still there. Thank God for Zepbound!! My PCP started me on it and I was cautiously optimistic. In 8 weeks I lost 10 lbs. First month (2.5 mg) I lost 3 lbs. My PCP said sometimes it takes your body time to catch on so be patient, and we started me on 5 mg. End of the second month I lost another 7 lbs! That is huge for me! Best part…I no longer think about sugar and sweets. I didn’t realize how addicted to sugar I was! Food noise is gone. Con: stomach side effects started at 5 mg and continue; hypoglycemia."

Zepbound (tirzepatide) "Since starting Zepbound 13 weeks ago to shed 60 pounds, I've gradually increased from 2.5 mg to 10 mg. It's effective, but sleepless nights have become my unwelcome companions, especially on the higher doses. Heartburn and that uncomfortable chest sensation are no picnic either. Despite dropping 30 pounds, I feel drained—fatigue, dizziness, and concentration issues plague me. To tackle these side effects, I'll either stick to 10 mg or drop to 7.5 mg. But with a $1,000 monthly price tag and the hassle of hunting down my prescription, quitting Zepbound crosses my mind. Yet, the thought of returning to the weight loss battle isn't enticing either. Swapping out heavy meals for light options like chicken and soups helps ease discomfort, but what I really crave is a solid night's sleep. I'm giving it one last shot, tweaking my diet and powering through my remaining doses before deciding—is it worth it?"

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "6 weeks, 10 lbs down. I love this. It's better than the sleeve surgery that I also had because it not only fills you up with a few bites, but it completely eliminates the food obsession. You don't even think about food."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "I am starting my 3rd month on Mounjaro. I have been overweight/obese most of my adult life. I have lost some weight but not as much as I expected. I feel terrible - I suffer with exhaustion, constipation, indigestion, depression, and nausea. I just do not feel good. It has sucked the joy out of my life. I used to exercise much more when I was not taking Mounjaro. I don't want to do anything. I am wondering if it is worth it?"

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "I am currently on day 2 taking Mounjaro injection 2.5. I have definitely lost all cravings to graze on food throughout the day. As a chef, this is great and very positive. I have no side effects so far, apart from feeling thirsty and drinking plenty of water."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "Lost 4.6 kg (10 pounds) after 4 weeks of 2.5 mg. Now starting 5 mg. No side effects so far. I lost a little bit more at the same rate with Saxenda but the constipation was horrendous, so I like Mounjaro better, I think. I also noticed fewer pimple breakouts while I'm on Mounjaro, so that's a plus."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "In October 2022 I was pre-diabetic. My daughter had good luck with Mounjaro so I went to my doctor to ask her if it might work for me. I am a 65-year-old female. I am 5'2" tall and weighed 182 lbs and wear size 16. I started Mounjaro in the middle of October 2022. Today April 27, 2023, I weigh 122 lbs and wear a size 4. I am now just trying to maintain my weight. The side effect that I experienced was constipation as I would only have a bowel movement once a week. I rarely experience hunger and have to remind myself to eat. I do not crave sugar or any other food. I started on the 2.5 mg dosage for a couple of months and then went to the 5 mg dosage for two months. I have been on 7.5 mg for the last few months. I stopped my acid reflux medicine last month and have not experienced any acid reflux since I stopped it. I have so much more energy now and feel great. I would highly recommend Mounjaro it has changed my life."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "I'm on my 6th dose as of today. I started 12/30/2023 at 2.5mg for 2 weeks and then increased to 5mg on 1/13/2024. I have lost 12 lbs so far. Prior to starting this medication, I was unable to lose weight no matter what I tried. I even resorted to almost starving myself, but my weight kept increasing. It was a defeating experience. In my 40s, I was always slim, but in my 60s, my weight became a problem. I was diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome and was at risk of developing Pre-Diabetes. As I continue with the medication, I am learning about what foods I can and cannot eat due to the side effects. These side effects include feeling nauseous or having trouble with bowel movements. I have found that lean meat, vegetables, and whole fruits work well for me. I focus on consuming whole foods and avoid processed foods and sugar. I have also discovered that bananas help with my stomach issues. During weeks 2-4, I experienced instant headaches and occasional nausea. I have adjusted my eating schedule and now ensure that I eat early in the evening, with no food consumption after 6-7pm, except for fluids. Additionally, I have started taking Magnesium Gummies and occasionally having a piece of sugar-free hard candy to help with bowel movements and to combat any unpleasant aftertaste from certain foods sitting in my stomach."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "The first month on 2.5, and it has been *very* effective. I selected weight loss above, but the real reason is I have been pre-diabetic for some time and the numbers are rising quickly. I am now extremely close to a diabetic diagnosis. It is hard to describe the change in food craving. It used to be as if my brain turned off when I was near food, so seeing candy in the drug store and buying and eating it were almost automatic, and I thought about it after I had bought the candy. Now I had a bowl of candy bars for Halloween and was not interested in eating one. I walked by it all day on Halloween and had no desire to eat it. This seems to work on food craving in much the same way Prozac works on mental obsessive negative thoughts. The only side effect I notice is a beginning tendency toward constipation. I am a bit needle-phobic, but the injections are sort of like a rubber band snap on the skin. It is extremely easy to use."

"I've been taking Tirzepatide for a couple of weeks so far, down 8 lbs. Zero side effects. Here are three things I make sure to do to ensure I don't have any side effects: fast for at least 16 hours before injection day, fast for an hour or two after injection, and drink 'Smooth Move' tea every night, which keeps the bowel movements regular. When I eat, I ensure I have protein-based foods. Since I can't eat much, I eat the protein first and then some of any sides (this was my doctor's advice, and it's 100% sound). Obesity is a beast; for me, it manifested in super-fast digestion (not fast metabolism) and constant hunger. I felt tortured eating less food as my body and brain always told me that I needed more. Three bowls of cereal weren't enough. Two plates of dinner were never enough. It was a constant battle to tell my body that it's not hungry. Now I know my body PERFECTLY well and better on less food. I'm never hungry on this drug; I eat one yogurt at 1 pm and a very small dinner."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "Been on Mounjaro since 9/11/22. Today is 3/4/23. I have lost close to 60 lbs and went from a pant size 46 down to 40. Wife says I “lost my tire” looking at me from behind. Started at 2.5 dose. Was dizzy and unsteady in the early days. Headache and nausea till my body acclimated. Switched my shot day to Friday night so if I’m not feeling great it’s the weekend and not impacting work. Worked up to 5.0 then 7.5. Did each for 8 weeks instead of 4 to level off the side effects. Wanted to stay at that level but no one can get it. Took my first 10.0 shot last night. So far so good. All my levels are great. Sulfur burps if I overeat. Am also doing herbal life shakes 2 times a day and having a sensible dinner. I still snack after dinner but nothing crazy. Exercise 5/6 times per week. I think 7.5 should be my maintenance dose but again, no one can get it. Will trade the mild side effects for being able to fit into my clothes."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "Diet, exercise & 1,000 mg of Metformin twice per day has not improved the quality of my life. My disciplined efforts kept me in a pre-diabetes state & made me insulin resistant, worsening my other health conditions. To improve the quality of my life & afford access to a drug that might help control my glucose & worsening health issues, I sold my car & now pay approximately $1,000 per month out of pocket for Mounjaro. It has changed my life! No more blurry vision due to fluctuating glucose levels. My energy level is consistent. I’m able to start exercising, as well as participating in family activities. I’m slowly but steadily losing weight which I believe will improve other health issues such as high cholesterol, blood pressure, insulin resistance, beginning signs of neuropathy in legs, and exercise intolerance. The good news is that as a pre-diabetic, Mounjaro helps my body properly utilize glucose. Sadly, I can't continue due to the cost, but Mounjaro WORKS & gives back hope!"

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "I took my first injection on April 20 and the second injection on April 27. On April 20, I had shortness of breath which increased dramatically. Ended up in the hospital on April 22 for the day. Shortness of breath continued. Took another injection on April 27. That night I looked at my calendar and realized that I had done activities without shortness of breath the week of April 17, 18, and 19 with no problem. I took an injection at about 9 am on the 20th and was short of breath by 10:30 am that day. Endocrinologist says it takes 4-6 weeks to exit the body. My symptoms did NOT improve until the 4th week and then they have improved only slightly. I can't walk 40 ft without sitting down to catch my breath. Before the 4th week, it was 20 ft. Praying that at the end of 6 weeks, my breathing will return to normal. Also many instances of bp under 90/57. When this happens I am exhausted, have to drink 8-12 oz water, and lay down for at least an hour with feet elevated to get bp up to acceptable levels. No weight loss."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "Let me preface this by saying I’m extremely sensitive to medication and have terrible IBS. Mounjaro was Godsent. I lost 45lbs in about 9 months on this. While I did have days of bad GI side effects, I could usually trace it to eating something I shouldn’t have. Gotta eat clean on this to avoid those side effects. Otherwise, I did great. I will say on day 2/3 after the shot, I was always really tired and cold. It always passed, but I still planned for it. Give it a go!"

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "I've been a yo-yo dieter for as long as I can remember. This is by far the best thing I've tried. I lost 11 lbs in the first week - this really does work to decrease your appetite! My diet doctor gives me injections, and told me to follow what is essentially a keto diet (no carbs or sugar - 8 oz of protein and as many veggies as you want), in conjunction with intermittent fasting (16 hours fasting, 8 hrs allowed to eat). There is NO WAY I'd make it through 16 hrs of not eating without this!! I feel very slight nausea sometimes after I eat, but not enough to affect my day-to-day activities. This is a game changer if you have struggled to lose weight as I have!"

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "I’m a 58-year-old woman. When I started Mounjaro I was at 172lbs. I am taking 5mg. On the first injection of 5mg I had hives but the next day with allergy medication it went away. I had a little bit of nausea off and on every time I took an injection. The worst part about this medicine is I feel cold all the time and fatigued. The fatigue goes away after a couple of days. I just took my 4th injection of 5 mg and will move up to 7.5mg next week. So far all good. I did notice I got pretty hungry 2 days before it was time to take my 4th 5mg injection which to me said it lost its effectiveness. I did struggle with those 2 days trying not to go back to old habits. I have lost 20 lbs since starting Mounjaro and all of my blood work is much much better. My A1C is down 2 points!"

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "You do lose weight, but the waves of nausea, vomiting, severe constipation and hypoglycemia are so unpleasant, and if you escalate and find it too much - it lasts for a whole week. Consider liraglutide daily, much easier to titrate and if you escalate and find it too much can lower down and only have one day of downtime."
