"So I started getting vaginal burning, and I knew I had a YI. I went to the store and bought tioconazole, came home, and inserted it. It’s been about 30 mins, and my vagina is burning worse than before the medication. The burning is uncomfortable but not intolerable. Hopefully, when I wake up, I feel a lot better."

"Went to Walmart looking for Monistat 1, but they were out, so I bought Tioconazole 1. I showered, did my regular cleaning routine, laid down, inserted it, and rubbed what was left on the outside. I immediately felt relief, the itching stopped right away, and the soreness went away. I feel great and haven’t experienced any swelling. Will most definitely recommend and purchase again if needed."

"Used on day 2 of noticing symptoms. Minor ones at that. Only felt intensified burning and itching for maybe an hour after insertion, but definitely tolerable. Had sweet, sweet relief after that passed. Didn’t really feel like I was leaking that much either. Definitely recommend."

"I have been having some itching for a couple of days, noticed the normal yeast discharge. Went to get the Monistat 1 as I normally do. I like the one and done. I’m a busy girl. They didn’t have it. I wanted to take something ASAP. Got this instead, it was cheaper. Got home and took it. Today I just worked from bed, as I used it in the morning. It’s now 5 hours in, and I have none of these crazy burning, extra itchiness, or swelling symptoms. I would recommend it. I’m already feeling better and not itchy."

"The first time I used this product, I was completely fine. This second time, I feel like I have put hot sauce in my parts. Inserted it around 10 pm and fell asleep. By 2 am, I’m in tears. My parts are swollen, red, and burning like I have never seen before. And you can skip putting ice as it did NOTHING for me. The only thing that gave me relief was a warm shower for 30 minutes, just sitting at the bottom with a warm wash rag on my parts. After that, I kept my movement as minimal as possible, and I’m currently laying in bed at 3 am waiting it out, praying I don’t need a trip to the ER."

"I did not experience any burning or itching while using this. If you have any burning or itching, you might have BV or an untreated STI, or even a very severe case of yeast infection. Make sure you have a yeast infection before using this product, or you will have those adverse reactions."

"I used this product and then read the reviews, this may seem a bit backwards - I know. Either way, the medication was beneficial. I showered and then used the application - there was an increase in irritation, but the following morning, I felt very relieved. I recommend going to see a physician and requesting a fluconazole tablet to make sure the infection is completely gone."

"This over-the-counter tioconazole drug is horrible. I applied it at night, and as soon as I jumped into bed, I felt so much heat and was asking my friends about their experience, and they told me I shouldn’t have used this product. I stuck it out till the morning and found that it burnt my vagina and left me completely torn up and swollen. So I woke up and sat in the bathtub trying to get all the medication out while thinking about going to the hospital because it looked like fire was in my vagina. Meanwhile, the yeast infection continued to worsen. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT WHATSOEVER. Just having the infection is better than using this product. I recommend going to the doctor or hospital if you got the same effect that I got from this over-the-counter product."

"This is the second time I've used this drug for a vaginal yeast infection. The first time I had intense burning and itching following insertion, but it only lasted about 20 minutes. This time, though... it's been an hour and a half... I'm writhing in pain. The burning and itching are unbearable. I typically handle pain well, but this is just outrageous. The next yeast infection will be treated with the antifungal pill."

"My vagina is worse now than the night before! I have used Monistat plenty of times, I decided to use this, and I wish I never did. I woke up at 6 am after putting in the cream the night before, and it's so swollen, red, and itchy down there I can't even close my legs, it hurts so bad! Never again!"

"Inserted Tioconazole 1 Day three days ago. My vagina is so swollen I’m afraid I’m going to have to go to the hospital or something. It’s unlike anything I’ve experienced before. I was hoping it was just irritated and that the medicine would do its job, but I am more itchy than ever. Do not purchase this product."

"I used this cream today, 2 days after noticing symptoms, and I also experienced the burning and itching. It’s still itching, and it’s bearable, but no more burn, really. I’m hoping tomorrow it gets even better and I can walk!"

"Experienced burning and redness as a result of this medication. I don't understand why/how products like this that burn and irritate the user are over the counter yet Diflucan (fluconazole), which is an oral yeast infection medicine with no side effects, is prescription only. It is completely backward and makes women suffer and experience more discomfort and pain versus a painless pill. It's been 4 days since I took this medicine and I'm still feeling raw and uncomfortable."

"Works great for a 1-day treatment for me. I had severe pain with Monistat 1, less with Monistat 3, and zero pain with Monistat 7, which I prefer because it’s not an ointment, but you have to apply for 7 days. The only downside to Tioconazole 1 for me is that it’s an ointment that feels greasy, and the feeling lingers a bit for a couple of days after."

"Felt cool going in. Seemed promising. Woke up to the itching and burning, but really, I feel this with any product. I would rather put up with it for one day, not 3 or 7 days. In the past, the other products also burned...the whole time! So, sitting in a bath with mild soap, washing it off the outside and more shallow inside part, then put on coconut oil or olive oil. This helped me. Putting on the coconut oil during the day helps too...and coconut oil actually is mildly antifungal!"

"Pre-treatment, my only symptom was severe burning during intercourse. I went to my doctor and found out I have a yeast infection. I used this product at about 3 pm, laid down for an hour, and went about my day, unknowingly that I should have used it at bedtime. I didn't have any side effects at all, but it also didn't cure the infection. One week later, I bought another box, used it again correctly and at bedtime. I had slight tingling before I fell asleep. I woke up 7 hours later and had no side effects besides discharge. It has been 4 days since, and still nothing but some light spotting, cramping, and discharge. I'm not yet sure it cured the infection because of no intercourse, which is why I gave it a 9 instead of a 10. My infection may not be as severe as other reviewers, but I'm not sure. I have used egg ovules in the past, and I do remember how bad they burned, so I do at least have a reference."

"If you are in the early stages of your yeast infection, then Tioconazole is a good choice. If you are in the later stages, you do not want to use this product. It will cause further itching and burning. In turn, your vagina will be raw."

"I grabbed the Equate Tioconazole 1 Day after my spouse accidentally used body oil instead of lube, causing a mild yeast infection and general discomfort the next day. I inserted at about 9:30 pm and definitely had more itching than before using the product. After about 2 hours, I went ahead and ran a bath after reading some reviews and deciding it wasn’t worth the risk. I cleaned up so there was only a thin layer, and that stopped the itching. So now I wait to see if I will have a swollen vagina tomorrow or not, I guess."

"I must agree with one person that said it burns and itches like crazy, but it will be worth it. I also took this because antibiotics gave me a yeast infection. I inserted it the night before and woke feeling worse, with itch, burning, and swelling. I took a shower, and I also rinsed down there with cool water, and after an hour or two, the swelling went down and the itch went away. Discharge is gone, only a slight burn, which is fine. Trust me, I felt like the rest of them, I almost regretted using it. But now I'm glad I did."

"Worst experience. I was so upset after using this. Upset at my doctor for recommending it and upset I actually tried it when I know I don't like any kind of vaginal cream or gel. The medication is worse than the infection. After using this, my vagina was burning, swollen, and it hurt to even wipe it when I pee. I wish I had just asked my doctor for the Diflucan pill. I will never use this again."

"Don't ever use this! This product is awful. Not only will you feel like your vagina is on fire after using it, but by day two, you will have the most extreme bloating you've ever had in your life. The side effect symptoms from the amount of medicine are horrible. I've had a fever, extreme bloating and abdominal cramping, hot and cold chills, a runny and stuffy nose, ear pressure/popping, a metallic taste in my mouth, and fatigue/lightheadedness. Avoid this product at all costs! I'm on day three now and still experiencing the side effects. I called my primary care and OB-GYN, and after doing a vaginal swab to make sure nothing else is going on, they were like, all you can do is ride it out. I can't wait till day seven is done because this is awful."

"Never again. Do not use this stuff. It's terrible. I had a horrible reaction to it. I woke up with a very sore and swollen vagina. I couldn't even walk or sit down without it hurting. Plus, it didn't even treat my yeast infection. In fact, my infection is worse. Spend the extra money and get Monistat."

"I have used this product multiple times over the past years because I suffer from regular recurring yeast infections. By recurring, I mean that I have one every single month. In the past, I have not had any symptoms from using this product, and I actually liked it better than Monistat and Terconazole, which I was getting via prescription. This is the first time that this product has given me severe burning sensations. I applied it intravaginally and then put the excess on the vulva. It has been about two hours, and I am still experiencing burning, enough that it will be hard to fall asleep. This is the first time that I bought the Amazon brand. Previously, I was buying the Target brand and did not have any issues. Perhaps it is a specific brand that people may be having trouble with. On Amazon, it was half the price, so I stocked up. My yeast infection was pretty bad by the time I used the medication. I had also taken fluconazole three days prior with no relief, so then opted for this."

"So I've had yeast infections before, tried fluconazole, which worked great, and even 3-day suppositories have worked very well. Now I get around, not gonna lie, but I got tested like a week ago and had a clean bill of health. I haven't done anything that would change it, and when I got some of that discharge, I knew what was up. So I figured I'd do the one-day thing, knock it out. Nah, man. I was so swollen, red, itchy, and all around in pain. Then stuff got clumpier than it had been before. Thinking that's partially because the medicine was leaking out. Anyway, all around a mess. I got a decent amount out, and it feels better, but I did leave it for like a day beforehand. Hopefully it got rid of the yeast, if nothing else, but that was pretty awful."

"I wish I had come to this comment session before using it. Applied the cream in my playground around 10 pm and fell asleep, so far so good. Woke up at 4 A.M. to pee, and my whole vulva was red, swollen, and sensitive to touch. I had never felt anything like it, even wiping after peeing was painful. The small lips were so swollen that they were hard, stiff (not to mention the size). Now it's 10 A.M., and it still feels horrible, I can barely walk, have to sit with legs spread, peeing is a sacrifice. Seriously, don't buy this."
