For Bacterial Vaginosis "This drug tinidazole was absolutely awful, and I will never take it again. I had to take a dose of 4 pills at 500 mg each for 2 days. The side effects I had were a headache, my fatigue was even worse, the most disgusting taste in my mouth, and after my second dose, I woke up sweating, vomiting, and had diarrhea. It better had done the job of getting rid of the BV because this was the worst experience I have ever had with any drug. I'll give it a 2 because I think it did work, but the side effects are NOT worth it."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "It works! I took Tindamax, 2-day dosing, 4 pills on the first day, 4 pills the second day, and yes, it made me very sick. I was sleepy, fatigue, nausea, headache, it was horrible, and that metal taste is totally disgusting. It made everything taste nasty for 4 days, but the medication started working immediately, within hours after I took the first dose. My advice to you is, if you are prescribed this medication, you may want to take time off of work just so that you can deal with your symptoms."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Metallic taste, yes. Fatigue, no. Hungry, no. Intestinal disturbance, no. Took 4 pills once for two days. Drank a lot of water. Smell gone, discharge clear. I ate Fage yogurt at the end of day two. Everything will be okay!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Don't let the reviews scare you. Everyone is different. I was afraid to take tinidazole because of the reviews, but then I remembered people with negative experiences are more likely to write reviews. Just want to add balance. I was prescribed 4 pills a day for 2 days for BV. I took all 4 pills at once with dinner because it's my largest meal of the day, and I wanted my stomach to be well coated. I had no gastrointestinal side effects at all. No nausea, no vomiting, and no diarrhea. Just took my second dose, and my only side effects were headache and fatigue. Pretty annoying and disruptive, but still able to do daily tasks. Symptoms are going away, so it seems to be working. Give it a try, just make sure you take with a large meal."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Within 10 minutes of taking the pills, I could taste the metallic taste. It was not unbearable. BV was gone when I was done with the 2-day treatment. Make sure to take with a very large meal! I think this is what saved me from vomiting. I have a very sensitive stomach and only felt nauseous a couple of times, but it went away quickly. The only other side effect was that I was very fatigued."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I started to take this after the metrogel, and the pills weren't working for me. My doctor gave me 4 pills of the tinidazole to take twice a day. The first day was okay, but the second, I felt very fatigued and sleepy. I decided to drink coffee, and that actually made it worse (I started really getting nauseous). My symptoms cleared up the next day, that's why I think it's still better than the other meds. Also, you don't have to take it for a whole week."

For Giardiasis "I'm immunocompromised, so sometimes I end up with random bowel infections. I've been on a 2g stat dose of tinidazole a few times now. For violent bouts of uncontrolled and explosive diarrhea caused by suspected protozoal infections, this stuff works amazingly and quickly. Bad parts are the fatigue and metallic taste in your mouth (similar to radiotherapy), and no alcohol for 72 hours lest you end up with nasty issues."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I've been on 500 mg twice a day for two days. I'm supposed to take it for three more days. Severe side effects. I have extreme weakness, numbness in my left hand/arm, body aches, now severe pelvic pain, which I'm hoping is just a yeast infection, nausea, food tastes weird, I can only drink water with lemon because it makes the water taste metallic, severe fatigue. My doctor has been trying everything for bacterial vaginitis on and off for the past year, and especially the past six months. I know this will work (as Flagyl did in the past), I'm just hoping the side effects go away."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I was prescribed to take four 500 mg of tinidazole for 2 days to treat BV. The only side effects I experienced were minor headaches, fatigue, and dryness in my mouth. I was constantly drinking water because my mouth kept getting dry. Other than that, I’ve been fine. The drug worked, and I’m happy. All drugs come with side effects. Just deal with it."
