For Giardiasis "I'm immunocompromised so sometimes end up with random bowel infections. I've been on a 2g stat dose of tinidazole a few times now. For violent bouts of uncontrolled and explosive diarrhea caused by suspected protozoal infections this stuff works amazingly, and quickly. Bad parts are the fatigue and metallic taste in your mouth (similar to radiotherapy) and no alcohol for 72 hours lest you end up with nasty issues."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I just got prescribed the tinidazole pill 4 of them for two days once a day. I took the pill and I have this horrible taste in my mouth. At first I thought my juice was expired so I brushed my teeth and everything and then drank water and it’s like water made the taste so much worst? So yeah I have a bitter metal taste in my mouth. I have a big fear of throwing up so hopefully I don’t. I mean I haven’t and it’s been 4 hours so I think I’m okay. This taste is just so gross."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I went in for a check up and got diagnosed with a yeast infection even though I knew I didn’t have one. I took the pill anyway. Shortly after that visit, I started showing signs of bv and my NP called this prescription in. I had to double check with the pharmacist that my insurance was on file because it was over $40 for 8 pills! After taking the pills, I kept getting this weird metallic taste exactly 30 minutes after taking the pills. I finally figured out it was this meds! Everything tasted horrible - water was the worst! I had to come here to read reviews on side effects to ensure I wasn’t losing my mind. But so far, it seems to be working."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "If I could give this a negative star I would! WORST side effects ever! So sleepy don't want to do anything and can't keep anything down! I finished my two days of 4 pills and on the second day I started feeling very sick and now it's the day after and I can't keep anything down, extremely nauseous, thrown up 5 times! Please eat a LARGE meal before taking this!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "So I read all the bad reviews before taking this, so I'm writing this in case it'll help someone else. To avoid any vomiting I ate food, took a bonine (tablet to stop nausea) ate some more food then took 2 of the antibiotics and chugged a 16.9 Oz bottle of water. I did this for the second set of two pills I took a few hours later. I had to take 4 pills daily for 2 days. This didn't help avoid the chills, headache, or the metallic taste, but I didn't vomit or have diarrhea not sure if it'll work out the same for you but I want to share in case it does, not entirely sure if it worked for me in regards to my condition"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Very fast acting and effective. I've only taken the first dose and my symptoms have pretty much disappeared. Definitely have a weird bitter metallic taste, but no other side effects. That said, I'm a moderately heavy drinker but I definitely will abstain from drinking, as is instructed. Also, make sure to take with food, it may prevent the other, more severe side effects."

Tindamax (tinidazole) for Bacterial Vaginosis "Well I can say the taste the headaches the cramps the fast heart beat which caused my severe anxiety to go bananas is due to this med. day 5 now I feel like it's back. Ugh!!!! I don't get it. My muscles hurt too. It's making my pain from open surgery WORSE! Oh and a loose stool hour after taking it."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Well today is Wednesday I just took 4 pills my 1st day. So I think I got BV because of damp swimsuits while vacationing in Cancun we did snorkeling, swimming at the pool, and cave swimming 4 days in a row I practically lived in swimsuits.. Anyways on top of this I also ate something and I've had vomiting stomach cramps and diarrhea. This pill takes care of it all together. As am typing this I can taste the metallic taste but it's not too bad. I just wouldn't handle more puking or diarrhea I'll let y'all know in 3 days"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I get bv every few months because I have the mirena. Iv'e used the metro pills and gel, they don't work. I took this ( 4 pills x2days). It made me feel so sleepy and dizzy when I woke up the next day, I had to call out of work! It made me that sick. So my doctor prescribed 2pills daily for 7 days. On my third day, haven't gotten any symptoms from the medicine yet. Hope this time it will clear it up finally for good..."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Got prescribed 2 pills daily for 5 days to treat BV that my doctor thought would not be treated by metronizole (spelling?) or basically any vaginal creams. It's been two days now and I'm only starting to feel better. Definitely not as bad as it was before but also not 100% there yet. I'm surprised by the comments about metallic taste and nausea. I have a very weak stomach and take antibiotics very poorly, except this one has really been a charm. I forget that I'm even on it throughout the day. I made sure to eat big breakfast and dinners before taking my doses. Slight headache that goes on and off throughout the day but really nothing compared to other antibiotics and their side effects. Have yet to experience the metallic taste."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "This medicine makes me feel like garbage. I Am prescribed 8 pills for 2 days. I took one last night felt like crap for hours. Took another one this morning was bad for the first hour then mild. Now time to take another and I don't want to... This is my second round and they made me feel worse last time... By day 3 I had to quit. That would be why I'm on it again.... I'm trying to do it right this time because I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO SUFFER through the medicine a 3rd time! Makes me feel dehydrated. Headachy, metallic taste, nauseated, rapid heart beat and gassy. But, it does clear up infection....."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I haven’t actually taken this yet, they prescribed it when I tested positive for trich and I have been too afraid to take it. I tried clearing it with organic cranberry which worked for a while but symptoms came back months later. Here I am today and just got rechecked and prescribed this again and I’m just deathly afraid cuz I’m only 100 pounds and I’ve never taken thousands of mil of anything before!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "It works, I was only prescribed 4 pills for 1 day. Treated with this med last year and again last week. I shouldn’t have waited to get treated. But what I NEED to know is..are you all iron deficient like me?? low Ferritin! Is the iron deficiency causing BV or is the iron supplements feeding the BV, I know that’s true but what about it being the cause?? No one cares enough about us BV sufferers to find our cause. I will continue with vaginal boric acid supplements to hopefully ward the BV off."

For Trichomoniasis "I was diagnosed with Trichomoniasis last October, started using metronidazole and it wouldn't work..fast forward to May when the CDC had to take over my case to find out I contacted a very rare form of antibiotic resistant Trichomoniasis. They prescribed what they call a huge dose of tinidazole, so 2 pills 3x a day for 2 weeks. I am now on my 3rd day and absolutely miserable. I can't sleep, barely can eat, feel like I'm about to have a stroke but I have no choice if I want to get rid of this. My insurance did not cover this and the cost was $1075.00 dollars just for the generic, brand name almost 3K"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I was concerned about the side effects, but I really wanted to stop the BV. I'm one of those that has battled with it for years. In about 12 hours, I could feel the difference down there. Now, the side effects: Overall, not too horrible. Mild nausea. I can deal with that for another day."

For Trichomoniasis "I have BV and Trich and kept this stuff in my pantry for almost a year (3 weeks before it expired) cause I was terrified of the reviews on this stuff. I felt fine, ate fine, the only problem was the awful taste in my mouth and trying to drink anything with this taste was awful. It wasn’t so bad if I ate a bite of something the chugged some water, but it’s safe to say I didn’t get in as much water as I should have. I realize the dosage for BV is double what I took. I took 1 gram at 11am and then the next 1 gram at 6 pm. I took the pills on Saturday and it’s now Monday and the taste in my mouth is gone, smell below is gone, still having some discharge but ITS CLEAR. Don’t be afraid of this medicine. I’m aware that everyone is different but I made sure to take this on a FULL stomach with a couple swings of milk to coat the stomach better."

For Trichomoniasis "I was prescribed two 500mg pills to get rid of trich. I went to the doctor at 1:30 & left about 3. Maybe an hour or 2 later I had horrible diarrhea! My cycle came on a couple days later & now the scent is back with a discharge. Did the diarrhea have an effect on the pill?"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I had my appointment on Monday at 4pm. Was diagnosed with BV and was prescribed 500mg pills to take twice a day for 5 days. I took one that evening. On Tuesday evening (after 2 pills) I had a headache and metallic taste. I took the 3rd pill that night. This morning I woke up with heartburn and still a headache. Now I'm on pill 4 and my vagina is itchy and I'm sleepy. I'm going to take a zyrtec."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "My doctor gave me this since Metro wasn't working for a month. It did get rid of my BV but I woke up sweating with a very fast heartbeat. My doctor said it wasn't a side effect, but I think it might be with some people. Freaked me out. My bv came back 3 weeks later though."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "This medication is a miracle drug!! I had bacterial vaginosis for over 10 years and tried all other meds and boric acid suppositories, but it would always return. I had no side effects at all, and I have been BV free for almost a year now. This medication was life-changing in the best of ways!"

Tindamax (tinidazole) for Giardiasis "I was (incorrectly) diagnosed with giardia and took Tindamax. I had a horrible reaction with nausea and diarrhea. This went on and I ended up hospitalized for days. The bad taste in your mouth lasts a LONG time after you take the medication. It takes a long time to clear your system as this is a long acting medication. The reaction I had sounds like what is supposed to happen if you drink alcohol while taking it. I am certain I did not drink alcohol, but I got this ill anyway. The real bummer is that after I took it I was told the lab made a mistake and I did not actually have giardia!!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I was prescribed to take four 500mg of tinidazole for 2 days to treat BV. The only side effects I experienced were minor headaches, fatigue and dryness in my mouth. I was constantly drinking water because my mouth kept getting dry. Other than that, I’ve been fine. The drug worked and I’m happy. All drugs comes with side effects. Just deal with it."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I had intercourse with a new partner who ejaculated inside me and I started getting a strange odor. I tested positive for gardnerella a couple days later. My doctor prescribed me tinidazole 2 days, 4 pills a day. I took them all at once for 2 days. She also said I should take norethindrone, the mini pill birth control. I have dealt with BV for a year and this was a new treatment so I gave it a shot. After my first dose, nothing seemed to change, second dose nothing, I just had these pounding headaches and slept for a day straight. I went back to my doctor 4 days later. She said that it takes a full week for the medication to work even if the dosage is just for two days. After a full week, I ONLY started to smell and feel a difference. I think the pairing of the tindamax and birth control is what made the difference. There’s a few scientific studies about how the mini pill does WONDERS for BV. I also took balance complex and a bucketload of probiotics."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Ladies, I recommend trying this if metronidazole and clindymacin don't work for you. I had a milky white, mostly odorless discharge for ages, it looked and had the same consistency as plain yogurt. Sometimes the doc diagnosed me with BV, but other times I was told it was just regular discharge. I knew though that there was far too much, and this didn't start until about 6 months after I got a vaginal IUD for the first time. Even after I got the IUD removed though, the discharge continued and I was prescribed everything from solosec to clindamycin to metronidazole all oral and then vaginal gels and suppositories as well. NOTHING even made it go away once, it was persistent. Then, recently I got a fishy odor accompanying the consistent discharge and I thought for sure this is BV. Did some research online and thought I'd ask my doc for tinidazole this time around. I also got metronidazole and took that for 7 days first, then took the tinidazole and a flagyl. It worked!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "For me Tinindazole is really bad. Other than the stated symptoms my lips totally becomes so infected like I had allergy, it is swollen and feels injured. So gross & painful. Can't even take more than one tablet. But very effective."
