Tamsulosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I was experiencing severe back pain, in which I was barely able to turn my head to the right or the left. I did extensive research and found out that the probable cause was my prostate. I consulted with my doctor, who confirmed that it was my prostate. I asked my doctor to explain the connection between my back and neck pain, but she got irritated. She prescribed Flomax, which has been a nightmare for me. After taking the Flomax, I was able to pee more freely, which has been a problem for me. Now I cannot hold my urine for long when I want to pee. Secondly, I do have a dry orgasm. I did some research and found out that Flomax will do this. It is irreversible. Based on reviews here, it confirms my fears."

Tamsulosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I just started this and then read reviews here. I'm REALLY concerned. One guy said that he has good luck taking Flomax every other day. If he reads this, do you get the side effects of sexual dysfunction, like every single other guy has mentioned here? I decided to try this, and it seems to be working so far. Has anyone stopped this and had their sexual functioning return to normal? I wonder if this is just an effect of lowered blood pressure. Besides, I cannot afford this stuff. I've done a lot of research on natural alternatives. I'm going to try these, and at least right now, I am optimistic, as user reviews are very positive."

Tamsulosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Not effective half of the time; causes me to feel like the room is spinning; doesn't always get bladder fully emptied; makes me feel weak and tired at least half the time; occasional urinary incontinence; loss of sexual desire and poor erections; often makes me feel nervous or apprehensive."

Tamsulosin for Urinary Tract Stones "Had kidney stones, had a stent put in. Ugly, ugly painful surgery. Stent removal was just as bad as the surgery. When you ask the nurses how bad the stent removal will be, and they say you have to ask the doctor, you know it's going to be bad. Flomax helped with the flow, but the side effects are unbearable. Back pain, nausea, low blood pressure, dry ejaculation, flu symptoms. Goodbye Flomax."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Pros: Flow: Improved by at least 50%. As a result, better sleeping and improved health that results from improved sleeping and urinating. Cons: Some level of nasal allergy or others that could be corrected or mitigated, in my case, with Claritin, for instance. Terrible decrease in sexual drive, interest, and performance. It may work if you can interrupt for 1 or 2 days prior to any anticipated experience. The question is, what is more important: to urinate better or to have better sex, or avoid tolerable allergic reactions?"

Tamsulosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Stress incontinence -- piss pants at the gym when working hard. Inability to reach orgasm -- can't get over the edge and blue balls. Overall, it works, starting a stream is no problem and can empty, but now going back to a low dose of Cialis and put up with painful balls."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I have an enlarged prostate, and I was prescribed tamsulosin. Unfortunately, my symptoms were not compatible with the diagnosis. My symptoms are dysuria and soreness upon sex. The medication numbed my sensitivity during the sexual act and also gave me dry ejaculation. This stuff is not for me!!"

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Miracle drug, it's great when a med exists that solves an issue and has no bad side effects! I got to the point that urinating was something I dreaded. It was an ordeal! Energy draining, painful, time consuming... It was affecting my quality of life significantly. Taken it for years now, I continue to be extremely active and pursue sport competitively still. Absolutely no libido issues as of yet, as well as no performance issues at any phase, lol. I tried supp before Flomax and I had zero relief!"

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I'm a very young 60-year-old and active sexually. But have had problems peeing and then rushing to the loo to pee and no stream at all, and then waking up two or three times a night. I've been on Flomax for three weeks, and I have a much stronger stream when I have to pee, and now only wake up once a night or maybe not at all. But the worst thing is it has absolutely killed my sex drive, it's hard to get erect, it's hard to feel any sensation, and it's hard to climax. I am a bit at a loss because I don't want the TURP (Transurethral resection of the prostate) procedure, which means no more ejaculation - they go retrograde into the bladder."

Tamsulosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Wow, this is bad. The side effects, fellas, absolutely not worth it. Go herbal or go home. Does it make you pee? Yep. Does it make the rest of your life unbearable? Yep. Good luck breathing out your nose, and if you like sex, good luck. You'd rather turn on the TV. Oh, and your orgasm, if you get there, is dry and lazy. Takes away the rapid pulses."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Due to my poor flow of urination and physically checking the condition of my prostate (also did my lower abdominal ultrasound measured prostate gland is 58cc and my PSA value is 0.4 ng/ml, far from 4 ng/ml), my urologist advised me to take tamsulosin. After 1 month, the result of my uro-flowmetry found good. But side effects are sexual, as a result, mental, decreased sex drive, and volume of erection, even it's difficult to get harder for a long time. Tomorrow, I am planning to consult with my physician. Should I drop tamsulosin now because I already took 1 month's medication he advised?"

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I’ve been diagnosed so far with prostatitis/BPH and was prescribed tamsulosin after a 21-day course of antibiotics. I noticed improvement 1st dose and have been taking the low dose once a day for two weeks. I take a lot of other drugs that are listed as interacting, but for me, I haven’t had any of the complaints others have, and strangely, my ejaculations are restored/increased on this drug unlike others. I’m 55 and have libido issues due to antidepressants anyway, but it’s actually helped with both bathroom and bedroom... my issue though may be prostate cancer, though I’m still undergoing testing. All I can say for sure is at least give it a try if you have plumbing issues, I did, and so far it’s great."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Had a really nasty UTI that was cleared after 2 weeks on ciprofloxacin. It left me with acute prostatitis and urinary difficulties. Saw the urologist, and she said all looked normal from the urine sample, but she put me on 0.4 mg tamsulosin daily (generic Flomax). I had read about all of the potential side effects, but REALLY needed relief. 2 days in, and it does seem to have helped. No more urgency or trouble emptying. The most inconvenient thing is taking it 30 minutes after the same meal each day, but I understand why. NOT doing that will increase the concentration in your bloodstream much quicker and can lead to serious side effects. I had also been suffering with ED. She prescribed 25 mg sildenafil as needed with a STERN warning to avoid taking the two less than 4 hours apart. I'm also on 100-25 mg of Losartan-HCTZ, so the last thing I need is a sudden drop in BP! Worst side effect so far is thin and almost clear semen. Libido is lower overall, but that's OK. Still some ED as well."

For Urinary Tract Stones "I must say. I am 30 years old, and haven’t had a prescription drug since I had my wisdom teeth removed. #1 I was diagnosed with a 4mm kidney stone moving. The ER doc prescribed Flomax. I did as I was told, as the pain was the most intense I’ve ever felt. So whatever. Following taking this med, I was urinating a lot, up every other hour on the hour (never before). Then comes the headaches and the vision frustration. I’ve had 20/20 vision since I can remember. Never have I needed glasses or contacts. So I panicked. THEN comes the sexual side effects that no one warned me about - zero ejaculation or orgasm whatsoever. I’m 30 years old and have a high sex drive. No one mentioned this to me when giving me the medication. Dry ejaculation, zero orgasm, and serious prostate area pain and throbbing. Yikes. I stopped taking the medication two days ago. Never again. Hopefully, I’ll be back to normal soon."

Tamsulosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Taking for more than 2 weeks now. This drug is not for me. Foggy brain in the morning, low sex drive, retrograde ejaculation, vision issues, and oddly, constipation. My bowels feel like they don’t move anymore. My flow is better, but I’d rather have to go more often and take longer than deal with this."

For Urinary Tract Stones "I'm fairly young, 35, and had to go to the ER because of side pain, which turned out to be a kidney stone. They gave me painkillers and Flomax at the ER. Also prescribed it for 7 days. I came home and started taking one 0.4 mg pill every night. I was getting very stuffy and having a dry mouth. Then, day 3, I masturbated and had absolutely dry ejaculation. It freaked me out because I've never experienced this in my life. A little online research led me to this page, and I see that it's a common side effect of Flomax. As someone who's going to be getting married soon and would like to have kids one day, I stopped taking it immediately. I took it for 4 days in total. I'm hoping this dry ejaculation goes away because I'll take kidney pain over not being able to have kids. So, yeah, there's absolutely no way I'm taking this medicine again."
