For Motion Sickness "I had used this patch that was meant for a 3-day cruise. Once it finally kicked in, I felt so dizzy I felt I was going to fall down. I just chalked it up to the nausea from seasickness. I started to get sick, not able to eat or enjoy any activities on our cruise. My bf suggested it might be the patch causing the nausea, not seasickness. I took the patch off, and it was so much better! I wasn’t nauseous or as dizzy anymore. I was extremely disappointed with this medication. My doctor also mentioned that if you use this medication, you could get withdrawal symptoms once you stop taking it. Glad I didn’t use it for the whole 3 days!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have a history of postoperative nausea, and right before having general anesthesia, the nurse put one of these patches behind my ear. She told me to leave it on for three days and that there are typically no side effects, just some slight dizziness. After surgery, I had no nausea. I removed the patch after the second day because I had read about possible withdrawal symptoms and didn't want to get them. Sure enough, after about 9 hours, I woke up in the middle of the night nauseous and dry heaving. Other side effects I had were extreme dry mouth, blurred vision, and hallucinations. Nausea lasted for several days, and I took Dramamine and Zofran to try and fight it. It wasn't worth the benefit, in my opinion."

For Motion Sickness "I used two scopolamine patches over the course of eight days and avoided motion sickness during my vacation. After taking the patch off, I have become miserably sick. Vomiting, nausea, dizziness, and headaches. I can't even get out of bed, and it's been three days! I have used this medication before for single-day events- a fishing trip, snorkeling, and long bus rides successfully with no side effects- but only left the patch on for the duration of the event- less than 12 hours. I will never leave a patch on for more than a day again. I have never felt so sick in my life! This medication does what it is supposed to, but the withdrawals are worse than any motion sickness one could possibly have."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Went on a 5-day cruise. Usually get motion sickness very easily. So trying to avoid that, my doctor gave me the patch with the understanding that it would only last 3 days. Since it was a 5-day cruise, she gave me 2. They worked awesome! Stayed very thirsty the whole trip, but not one time was I sick. After we got off the boat and made it back home, I removed the patch. I have been so dizzy and nauseated that I can't work, can't drive my car, can't do anything without the room spinning. Not sure the aftereffects of the patch were worth it."

For Motion Sickness "While the patch made it possible for me to sail the Caribbean with no motion sickness (I wore it for 4 days), when I removed it, I experienced severe blurred vision, felt dizzy and nauseous, and weak and could hardly stand! This drug is poison."

For Motion Sickness "Used for a music tour. Used for a day with mild success, but then the side effects were so bad it didn't matter that I wasn't getting sick from motion sickness-now I was getting sick from the patch itself. Dizzy, dry mouth, blurred/double vision. I fainted during a concert because the nausea and blurred vision made me super wobbly. I'm sure part of it was my body just reacting to the medicine in a negative way, and I know other people who used it to greater success."

For Motion Sickness "I've used the scopolamine patch before for severe motion sickness without noticeable side effects. However, for my recent vacation requiring significant travel, I wore the patches for 12 days, changing every 72 hours as prescribed. The withdrawal effects have been very unpleasant-vertigo, weird heartbeat, nausea severe enough to require me to lay down until it passes. It's been five days, and the symptoms are lessening, and Dramamine seems to help when they get bad. I don't know if I'll use the patch again or not."

Scopolamine for Nausea/Vomiting "My doctor prescribed this Transderm patch prior to an outpatient procedure. I was very careful and followed the instructions, making sure to wash my hands before and after placing the patch behind my ear. Only to wake up 10 hours later feeling so dizzy and nauseous. Worst of all was my vision. When I arrived at the hospital, my vision was so blurry I couldn't even read the paperwork I was signing, couldn't see the time on my cell phone, or read any messages. My pupils were very dilated, this lasted for 2 days. I'm on day 3, and my vision is back to normal, but upon doing too much, I'm still dizzy and nauseous. I always read thoroughly before I take anything, so I know I did NOT get this in my eyes by not doing as directed. Scary stuff!!"

For Motion Sickness "Used the patch for a 2-week trip to Thailand, including bumpy car, bus, and ferry rides. I had no side effects at all for the first 6 days, and it worked wonders! I applied the patches in the evening before going to bed, but on the 3rd patch (day 6), I applied it in the morning. I felt tired and dizzy with some strange eye dilations. I realized it was probably the patch making me feel strange. I removed it as the “bumpiest” parts of my trip were over. For a little less than 24 hours, the dizziness and anxiety (likely from reading all these reviews) continued, and I wasn’t hungry, but no vomiting or anything close to what I’ve read in other reviews. After 24 hours of removing the patch, I felt completely normal. I drank LOTS of fluids throughout the day and kept moving, although I would have preferred to stay lying down. It was our last day of the trip, so we continued our plans of sightseeing, which helped take my mind off the side effects, and I felt normal much quicker than I expected."

For Nausea/Vomiting "This was put on by my anesthesiologist during surgery to help with postoperative nausea/vomiting. When I finally woke up, almost a day after I was out of surgery, I was so sleepy and dizzy I couldn’t stand it. I had had the patch on less than 24 hours at this point. The nurse took the patch off, and within 2 hours or so, I was at least a little more coherent. It felt like I was rocking on a boat while sitting in my hospital bed. I won’t ever use this again for surgery. I’ll just use Zofran next time!!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "Please do your homework on this before using. This patch was placed behind my left ear prior to my procedure to help with post-op nausea. The only side effect I was warned of was dilated pupils and double vision. After my outpatient procedure, I had no nausea. The following day, I experienced extreme blurred vision and dry mouth. After 45 hours with the patch on, I removed it. That was 5 days ago. I am still nauseous and fighting vertigo and imbalance. The day after I removed this patch, I experienced what felt like a bad acid trip... I was also insanely sick, experienced vertigo (which I have never had in my life), and was unable to eat for days. My insides hurt as if I had a virus (like someone is twisting your intestines). Day 5 of removing the patch and day 7 post-op, I am still experiencing nausea with no signs of it letting up. I am wondering if maybe the dosage in the patch was just too much for me. So please do your homework before using. I would have rather dealt with the post-op nausea than this."

Scopolamine for Motion Sickness "I used the patch for 5 days before taking it off because it didn’t help nausea, and I was starting to get blurry vision. 2 days later, I was dealing with significantly worse nausea than I had when I was prescribed the drug, my vision was blurrier, I had a strong, painful sensitivity to light, and it felt like my eyes were burning. My doctor failed to disclose withdrawal and adverse side effects of the medication. I feared I was going blind, and I began forgetting things, feeling disoriented, and dizzy. Now it’s been a week since I stopped, and I haven’t been able to keep food down in 6 days. This may be a safe drug for most people—my reaction to this medication isn't common, but it’s an intense drug and can cause debilitating symptoms for weeks after using the patch for only days. Be sure you trust your prescribing doctor and that he or she discloses possible side effects and risk factors, because I assure you that you will prefer motion sickness over the withdrawal symptoms of this medication."

For Motion Sickness "Used for post-op surgery due to a history of nausea and vomiting. The best recovery room experience. I took it off the next morning because I think, combined with the pain medication, I was extremely dizzy/headache. I have never been seasick, but I would recommend it for surgery."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I put this patch on before I went to bed last night. What a mistake! I woke up and felt drunk. I have blurry vision, nausea, dizziness, and dilated pupils. I wore it less than 8 hours. I am on vacation and was supposed to go snorkeling, but I am not sure I am going to be able to go. I wish I had put it on during the day so I would have known this was occurring without wearing it so long. I strongly believe this drug should never be used. Awful."

For Nausea/Vomiting "My doctor had me place this behind my ear the night before surgery. When I woke up the next morning before surgery, I was so dizzy I nearly fell over twice, and I had a terribly dry mouth and sore throat. I had bad anxiety all morning (not from the surgery, I’ve had surgery before and never felt like this), and I started to get shaky, agitated, and feel sick. I asked the anesthesiologist if I could take it off, and he said yes. Within 30 minutes, I felt much better, and the nurses even commented on how calm/better I seemed. He said I probably should avoid that class of medication in the future."

For Motion Sickness "I have suffered from motion sickness since I was a child. Especially when I am at sea on a boat, I cannot last more than 30 minutes without getting sick and vomiting. These patches are great. It was the only thing that worked for me. I was really surprised, to be honest, that it worked so well. About the side effects, I only notice some dizziness, but that is it. I would use it again in the future."

Scopolamine for Nausea/Vomiting "Never take this drug! I was on a 7-day cruise and took the ear patch. At first, I had blurred vision, and after removing the patch off when the cruise was done, things went horrible. I had nausea, dizziness. Went to the doctor and was told I had vertigo and couldn't get back to work. I had to suffer because of the side effects of this patch. Not sure how the FDA approved this, this is a dangerous drug and should NEVER be prescribed."

Scopolamine for Nausea/Vomiting "Long history of post-op nausea (PONV) here. Excellent care team applied the patch about an hour before surgery (along with IV Zofran) to stop the nausea. Really hoped it would help. The dizziness, blurred vision, and very dry mouth made me feel worse-dying of thirst. Drank too fast post-op and had some of the worst PONV ever. CRNA said to wear it for 3 days; I took it off after about 36 hours; my doctor switched me from oral promethazine (did not stay down) to meltable Zofran, which was much better. Hope it works better for others."

Scopolamine for Motion Sickness "Over the past two years, I have used the patch six times. Well, after my most recent experience, I am going to resort to Dramamine again. Like others commenting here, I had many more side effects after using the patch on both ends of my trip. Dizziness, tiredness, and vision issues. But my tipping point occurred 12 hours after applying this last patch. My three-hour flight was great. No problems. I arrived home very late, slept for three hours, and woke with the urge to pee six different times in 20 minutes. There was blood in my urine and painful cramping. THEN I remembered to remove the patch. I slept with no more symptoms and felt fine."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given the scopolamine patch for the first time before surgery as I always get horribly sick with anesthesia. I fared well after I came out of recovery and felt pretty good the first couple of days. The doctor advised leaving the patch on for 3 days. Holy cow, immediately after the patch came off, I felt like I just got off of a carnival ride. I am a week out from surgery, and I am dizzy, nauseous, agitated, weak, runny nose, body aches. I feel worse than I did when I had COVID. I wish the doctor would have warned me about side effects. I will not use this patch again."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I've been taking it for about 6 months straight due to nausea on TPN. It really is just a motion sickness med to me though. It doesn't help me much with the TPN nausea, but it does help with being car sick. When I first started it, my symptoms were pretty extreme that I called my doctor and told him I'm not taking that again. (But after trying multiple different nausea meds, I landed back on scopolamine). I got extreme dry mouth and throat, lost my voice, could only drink liquids, and anything solid I would choke on due to dry mouth. What I assume was my lymph nodes swelled in my throat to the point you could see red dilated blood vessels under my chin, my balance was off, and I couldn't see anything within a 2-foot radius. But I kept replacing it every 3 days out of desperation to stop throwing up. Now I only get a dry mouth which varies in severity, and I can't see my phone for the first day, but by day 2 the symptoms tend to dissipate. (They might have adjusted my dosage a little, but I'm not sure)."

For Motion Sickness "I was planning to go for a boat ride to meet up with friends on an island in SoCal Friday. As directed, I placed the patch behind my right ear hours before departure. I ended up not going due to my second Moderna vaccine I received on Thursday acting up Friday morning. I took the patch off and didn’t feel any negative effects. On Saturday night, I went out with friends and had a few cocktails. I put the patch on-what a mistake. I took it off last night because I forgot it was on, and now I’m going through a bunch of withdrawal symptoms, such as dizziness, confusion, and dry mouth. My cousin, who is a doctor, said it shouldn’t last too much longer. I should be better by the morning or later afternoon. Regardless, I’m never taking this patch again."

For Nausea/Vomiting "This medication was prescribed to me for anti-nausea. It was the worst experience of my life. I had everything from dizziness to vision problems and cognitive issues. It didn’t even completely help with the motion sickness. Vision problems continued even after I stopped using this medication to the point where I had to get glasses, and to this day seems to be progressing. Do not recommend."
