Romiplostim "I've been on Nplate for more than a year now. Rituximab worked once for 16 months, Promacta did nothing for me. Nplate is working for more than a year now with little to no side effects. Sometimes, a very slight headache the day of the injection."

Romiplostim "Taking Nplate, and it's been helping raise my platelets over 140,000. Mine was at 25,000. So mine does go up and down but stays in a safe range. Only side effect is bad headaches, and I got that under control. I have lupus also and have that somewhat under control."

Romiplostim "I've taken Nplate, 350 micrograms for over a year. It keeps my platelets between 11 and 19. Once it reached 24. Once. IVIG and Rituxan did not work for me. Tavalisse has scary side effects, and my hematologist at Stanford does not recommend it. Steroids made me crazy, and since my partner is on steroids, we can't both be on them together."

Romiplostim "When Promacta suddenly stopped working for me (platelets suddenly dropped to 4k), we switched to Nplate. The big issue for me was travel. No more international trips. When we traveled in the US, I had to find doctors in each location for a weekly shot. Sometimes they didn’t have it in stock, and we would have to wait a day for it to arrive, even after I told them what I wanted. They also required a consultation and blood work, so even if the medication was available, it was still a day out of our trip. Even at home, I had to set aside time every week for blood work and the shot. On the plus side: it worked and kept my platelets (in combination with IVIG) in the normal range. Taking Doptelet now, and it is much more convenient and keeps my platelets between 60 and 110."

"It's been OK. I have a jab in my stomach every week. I feel the side effects have been feeling very hot sometimes, not sleeping well, and fatigue. I think it's good as you only have to have it once a week rather than having a tablet every day, which is preferable."

"It's about time that a medicine came out for the treatment of ITP. My mom has waited for over 17 years for a treatment for her ITP. And this medicine looks very promising to help those like my mom who have ITP! I hope that more new medicines for ITP come out soon and hopefully cure ITP once and for all."

Romiplostim "Nplate keeps my platelets around 150/200. So far, the side effects have been minimal. Amgen offers a coupon, so the cost to the patient is only $5."

Romiplostim "My dosage works, but I've been on it for at least 10 years. I have a feeling that it's starting to have side effects (bad muscle aches, blood clotting too much, my skin feels like I'm on fire)."

Romiplostim "After about two or three days getting the shot, I get really weak, my legs hurt, starting to get ice pick headaches, and I have no energy at all. They have upped the dose two times now, and symptoms are worsening."
