Rivaroxaban for Deep Vein Thrombosis "I was diagnosed with 100% DVT blockage in my left leg. The hospital gave me heparin for less than 24 hours. Then told me I had a choice to take Xarelto or Eliquis. I chose Xarelto. After taking the first pill, it upset my stomach. The second pill upset my stomach. They sent me home with a prescription. Almost immediately, I started bleeding a lot. It continued. I’ve been taking Xarelto for a little over a week now. I have a surgery upcoming in about two weeks and need to go off Xarelto five days prior to the surgery, which concerns me. I cannot get an appointment to see a hematologist until four days before the surgery. The last couple of days, the bleeding has stopped, but the pain in my leg is much worse, making it difficult to walk. I’m thankful for the Xarelto at this time. I started taking the pills with food and had no more problems with an upset stomach."

Rivaroxaban for Deep Vein Thrombosis, Recurrent Event "I bumped my leg after being on it for two days and had major bruising. Mind you, I don't bruise easy, and I'm dark. Plus, it hurts really bad. Otherwise, going well."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "On rivaroxaban, and I have itches constantly all over my body and my scalp. I've had a terrible 10 months, and my doctor kept saying it is not medication, but finally I said I wasn’t taking rivaroxaban anymore, and he put me back on warfarin that I’d been on for over 15 years. I started warfarin on Friday and had taken Xarelto (rivaroxaban) for two days along with my warfarin. I've been back to the warfarin clinic today, my blood was in good range, so I will be interested as to how long it will take for my itching to go away. Also had pains in knees and legs, tired, couldn’t sleep, depression, my eyesight deteriorated enough to stop me from driving, also very itchy eyes and ears."
