Rivaroxaban for Atrial Fibrillation "Some itching with this, but so glad not to go for blood work and to be able to eat whatever I want. Cardiologist put me on this in January as I was on warfarin since Dec 26. This doc does ablations for Atrial fibrillation (and teaches fellows also) and this is what he wanted me to take. Little bruising, minor bleeding when brushing, nothing significant. I also take amiodarone for the Atrial fibrillation."

Rivaroxaban for Deep Vein Thrombosis "Doc put me on this after finding a small blood clot in calf after TKR. First month was not bad but after that, my upper stomach started to hurt off & on all day, every day, migraine headaches every night, insomnia every night and horrible itching at site of incision, bleeding hemorrhoids also. Had a Doppler taken after 2 months and it did not find any clots. Dr took me off of Xarelto cold turkey. Very frightening because I was told you should be weaned off of it but doc seemed to be ok with immediately stopping. It has been 4 days since I stopped and all the above symptoms went away, thank goodness."

Rivaroxaban for Atrial Fibrillation "I have had no major adverse effects from taking Xarelto. However, it seems that since starting this, the back of my lower neck itches all the time. I have scrubbed my neck, I have no rash or appearance of anything unusual, just the itch. Wonder if this medicine could cause this. I believe I ran across an article of someone complaining of the same condition but I don't know where I saw it."

Rivaroxaban for Atrial Fibrillation "I have been on this drug for about 10 months. It seems to be causing some real issues both mentally and physically. I have a problem with localized pain in my shoulder, which I didn't injure. I have muscle pain in my legs and arms and muscle weakness. I used to enjoy my long walks, but now I don't have the energy or strength. I have bouts of severe itching over different parts of my body, i.e., scalp, arms, legs, abdomen, but no rash. I am also having bladder control problems. Some days I feel like I'm losing my sanity. Today is one of those days. I got up feeling like I've been run over by a truck. These days are much more frequent. I'm at the end of my rope. I'm going to speak to my doctor later today, but I have to come off this drug. My atrial fib is pretty well controlled with the drugs I've been taking, but my quality of life has nosedived with Xarelto. Can anyone relate?"

Rivaroxaban for Deep Vein Thrombosis "I suffered massive DVT on my left leg in 1998. I was on warfarin for a few years. I developed what looked like hives or rashes on both of my inner thighs. My doctor said that it looked like eczema. I used all kinds of OTC lotion to ease the itch and some pain, but it never went away. When Xarelto was introduced to the market, my doctor said that I am a good candidate for it. A few months after taking 20 mg a day, the itch on my upper arms started. At the time, it did not bother me because that was the least of my problems. In 2012, I noticed some red bumps on my lower leg that were a bit itchy. It went away after a few weeks. But my body itch continues. In the spring of 2020, the itch and red bumps intensified and appeared all over my body. My doctor said it’s not from Xarelto. The dermatologist could not recognize what these red spots on my body were. I have to wear long sleeves even in the summertime to cover the red bumps and lesions that turned into dark brown spots all over my arms and body."

For Prevention of Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation "On rivaroxaban, and I have itches constantly all over my body and my scalp. I've had a terrible 10 months, and my doctor kept saying it is not medication, but finally I said I wasn’t taking rivaroxaban anymore, and he put me back on warfarin that I’d been on for over 15 years. I started warfarin on Friday and had taken Xarelto (rivaroxaban) for two days along with my warfarin. I've been back to the warfarin clinic today, my blood was in good range, so I will be interested as to how long it will take for my itching to go away. Also had pains in knees and legs, tired, couldn’t sleep, depression, my eyesight deteriorated enough to stop me from driving, also very itchy eyes and ears."

For Deep Vein Thrombosis, Recurrent Event "I had been on warfarin for 15 yrs due to DVT in each upper arm 3 yrs apart. I was absolutely fine on it, except INR was up and down due to a healthy diet! Dr told me about this amazing wonder drug rivaroxaban and that nothing interacted with it. So on her advice, I started taking it! Worse decision I ever made!!! Fainting spells, I was admitted to A&E with hemorrhage of my uterus! Itching like you wouldn't believe! This drug needs banning on women of childbearing age!!! It's dangerous! I have been on this drug exactly 4 months and have decided to go back on warfarin tomorrow!! I can't wait. Never mend something that's not broken. There is no antidote for this drug yet! It's like walking around with a loaded gun! Dangerous!"

Rivaroxaban for Deep Vein Thrombosis, Recurrent Event "I was put on Xarelto for IV blood clots going up my left arm. This drug made my skin extremely itchy! My stomach, my arm, back. I took antihistamine, still itchy. So I have stopped taking Xarelto. Also, it was making me extremely forgetful. Brain fog to the max. I have decided to take baby aspirin instead. Going to my doctor tomorrow to tell him that I won't be taking it again. I was on 10 mg of Xarelto. Hope this helps someone."
