For Migraine "I have used this 3 times. The first two times it worked really well for menstrual-related headaches. No rebound, no side effects. The third time, I got dehydrated and it turned into a migraine. I think I took it too late because I thought rehydrating would make the headache go away. It worked, but took much longer. It took the edge off after 30 minutes, but the headache did not go away completely for about 6 hours. I am using samples given by my doctor. The packaging is really ridiculous. Way over the top and too much waste and frustration trying to get to 2 little pills. Please be more eco-conscious. You should be ashamed of this."

For Migraine Prevention "Originally, upon reading reviews here, I was hesitant to try this new medication. After years of triptan use and a continued increase in migraines per month, I ultimately decided that I had nothing to lose at this point. So, I took my first Nurtec two weeks ago and it turned out really well for me. I take it as a preventative every other day. I’ve not had a single migraine since the first dose. It feels like a miracle. I’m pleasantly surprised by the outcome. That being said, I did have stomach pain for the first few days. It eventually subsided as my body adjusted. Thankfully, I’ve yet to experience any further side effects, and I’m sensitive to medications. This whole experience has been positively surprising. I will convey that triptans caused numerous awful side effects for me: chest pain, muscle tightness, restlessness, anxiety, difficulty breathing, and eventually rebound migraines. I couldn’t take them anymore. Nurtec is far better!"

For Migraine "Amazing - I take one, and my headache melts away within one hour max. I have reduced headaches down from 15+ to 3-5 days a month, and I take Nurtec, and it’s gone. So glad to have found this after years of pain. I get hormonal migraines."

For Migraine "My doctor ordered me the Kyleena IUD for heavy bleeding. I started having awful migraines several months after it was inserted. My doctor said hormones are 99% responsible for migraines. I started to take Imitrex and was a zombie on it and had to go to bed. I went to my neurologist and he prescribed Nurtec ODT. When my first migraine hit, I was in excruciating pain, and the box was extremely difficult to open. I tried to open it, but being in that much pain made it even harder. Once the package was opened after 5 minutes of trying, it started to work in 30-40 minutes. I have never had a migraine leave so quickly. I was not nauseous or even tired after it worked, and I basically could go back to my normal daily routine. It is a huge blessing that I live in this day and time that we have drugs like this one available to us!"

For Migraine "Nurtec takes my level 10 migraine pain away within an hour. What I get later is lasting dizziness (up to a month of dizziness with just one pill). I also get rebound migraines and headaches, sometimes from just 1 pill, but it’s more severe the more that I take (migraines - severe pain on one side of the head, nausea and vomiting, headaches - pain all over the head and less severe). When I took it more often, my hair started coming out like crazy. I was afraid to wash and brush my hair because so much was coming out. Now that I take it more sparingly, my hair has stopped falling out. I take it as little as possible now, although I still get the dizziness and rebounds from taking very little. I think the manufacturer seriously needs to update the side effects warning. It’s for sure causing my rebounds and dizziness, and as so many have reported hair loss with CGRP acting meds, it really seems unethical to not give these warnings. I rate it a 7 because it works, but side effects are bad."

For Migraine Prevention "I've had migraines since I was a young child. My 2-3 migraine days a month became 3-4 migraine days a week with nausea, auras, speech, and cognitive issues. Sumatriptan gave minor relief and unwanted side effects. While taking Nurtec every other day for 2 months, I've had 2 minor migraines, one self-inflicted. I took an early dosage to treat the breakthrough migraine and adjusted my schedule accordingly. Sometimes migraines try to creep in just before the next dose. I still get some brain fog, but I'm not sure of the actual cause. No noticeable side effects! So happy not to miss work or life because I'm 'sleeping off' a migraine. Feels like a miracle. The disintegrating tablets are convenient, but the packaging is frustrating. The expense is terribly prohibitive. Wish my sis could try it. Currently, my insurance does not cover it, but I receive it at no cost. I would hate to lose access at this point. It's certainly not for everyone, but is a major relief for me."

For Migraine "It works sometimes, but not for long. I wind up having a migraine a few hours later. New problem. I have a rash on my eyelid and sores in both nostrils. I’m probably going to stop taking because it makes me extremely tired after taking for a few weeks. The good part is it can relieve a migraine, and the wafer tastes like mints. No water needed..."

For Migraine "I was prescribed the medication due to cervicogenic headaches with migraines. I was involved in a bad injury due to Takata airbags, and no one can really figure out what's wrong. (They can, but no one agrees on how to fix it without surgery that I can't afford... 100k per joint and 3+ joints, and they don't think it will actually help.) Anyway... it's just plain dumb to put sucralose in a migraine medication when it's a trigger for so many people. It did help the headaches, don't get me wrong... but slowly the migraine settled in due to the sucralose. Do I really want to trade headaches for a migraine? To be transparent, I'm on 600 mg of Lyrica (the max dose) and 80 mg of baclofen (also max dose) for migraines and neck pain. Without the Lyrica, I have daily migraines. My doctor thought Nurtec could help tame them further. For me, it undoes everything the Lyrica helps with. Take my anecdotal experience with a grain of salt, but think twice if artificial sweeteners are a trigger for you."

For Migraine "I feel that this doesn’t really work any better than generic Imitrex (the brand name version works great). I get terrible auras to where I can’t focus on anything, and there are crazy flashing lights before the migraine comes, so I take the meds right away. But the real problem is I get extreme indigestion afterward. The pain is so intense I was thinking about going to the ER. Finally, after a double dose of Prilosec and several Pepcid Complete, it calmed down enough for me to sleep. The pain has remained for days afterward, and I can barely eat anything without pain. Getting tested today to see if it’s something else, but I’m convinced it was the Nurtec."

For Migraine "When my neurologist told me there was this new medication that not only treats migraines, it prevents them at the same time, I was thinking this was the miracle I've been waiting for. I'm going to try Nurtec for at least a month or two before I give it a failing grade; however, I just finished my first two-week (8 tablets of one every other day) regimen, and I was wildly disappointed. Not only has it done a poor job (so far) of treating/preventing migraines, I feel like one time it actually gave me a migraine. In theory, it sounds like the perfect CGRP antagonist medication. And maybe I have to give it more time. But so far, I'm having to rely on my Imitrex. It feels like it's back to the drawing board. :( I don't know how to rate this on a scale of 1 to 10. I wish there was an incomplete grade. But there's not, so I'm forced to give it only a 1."

For Migraine "Warning - Nurtec contains sucralose, a sugar substitute that can trigger migraines. I saw this after I tried it. The medication did nothing for me, no side effects other than a continued migraine made worse by sucralose."
