"I have recently started getting migraines due to my chronic insomnia. I'm in my 70s. My doctor gave me some samples of Nurtec. I took them at the first sign of a headache, and I felt great. Clear-headed with no headache. My doctor prescribed it as a preventative which I am to take every 2 days. Medicare paid for most of it so the cost wasn't prohibitive. However, now that I've started it as a preventative, I've been getting brain fog, even when I slept okay the night before. Also, a little dizzy and having vision problems when I read. These could be side effects that will go away. I don't want to give up on it yet, but if the brain fog continues, I'll have to stop taking it. The brain fog is as bad as a headache."

"I get chronic headaches with occasional migraine. I’ve tried many, many headache medicines. Triptans never worked for me, Frova made me sick. Amitriptyline didn’t do much. Topiramate worked very well - but it made me lose weight (I’m already underweight). Finally, I asked for Nurtec about a year ago. I love it! I have zero side effects. It doesn’t ALWAYS work, but it stops it from getting worse. But usually, it makes me 99% better in about an hour. I only take it as needed, not as a preventative. If you have a copay or deductible, don’t forget to sign up for the copay savings card from Nurtec, saves me $900+ a month (I have a deductible) - the copay savings card brought it down to $0. Insurance wanted me to try two triptans before covering Nurtec - luckily, I already had."

"I’m on my third pack of this medication. I've used it at least 30 times. It works pretty fast-within an hour my migraine is gone. However, today for the first time, about 4 hours after taking the tablet, the migraine is gone, but I started experiencing really bad stomach cramps, diarrhea, and dizziness. I will wait it out and see. I hope this is just a coincidence since it was saving me from excruciating pain until now. The last migraine that I had went for 7 days straight, 24 hours, and sent me to the ER as I just couldn’t take the pain. Overall, I would rather have the cramps and stomach pain than my horrific migraine."

"I have tried 37 different medications and/or alternative therapies, and nothing has worked except Zomig. I have chronic daily intractable migraine (meaning I’m somewhere on the migraine continuum every single day). I get 12 Zomig tablets a month, and I need 2 tablets for it to be effective. That makes 6 days out of the month I could function. Finally, my doctor prescribed Nurtec as a preventative. I get 16 tablets per month. The first few times I used it, I was extremely sick to my stomach, but each time it seemed to decrease the nausea a tiny bit. As the days went by and my body acclimated to Nurtec ODT, it has become a lifesaver as a preventative. It reduces the acute pain, though not as much as I had hoped for. However, weirdly enough, the alternative day I don't take it, the medication works extremely well as a preventative. That day ends up being a low/no pain day. I have had migraines for 15 years, and Nurtec ODT has been the only thing able to actually reduce pain for acute migraine and lower/stop the pain when used as a preventive."

"I have had COVID-19 several times because of my compromised immune system. I was diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome 6 months ago and long-haul COVID. My migraines started around that time. I had the light flashes in my eyes, followed by a searing pain that starts in the middle of my head and resonates to my face and down my neck. Nausea was a problem because the pain was so intense. Nurtec has been a lifesaver for me. I take one when the light flashes or 'floaters' are in my eyes. If I can take it immediately, the pain does not manifest. If the pain does start, it is diminished within 20 minutes. I usually fall asleep very quickly and wake up in about an hour pain-free. I still have that bubble-head feeling for a few hours, but I cannot express my relief in having this medication. I tried 2 other medications, and they helped a little, but Nurtec works quicker and prevents the full migraine episode. I am on the as-needed dosage. I was experiencing 6 migraines a month, now I am down to 2."

"It took the edge off the pain, but onset was at least 2 hours. I had pretty severe nausea and indigestion, along with feeling like a zombie after taking. The abdominal distress lasted into the next day, along with a mild headache. Not really what I was hoping for, but I guess better than having severe migraine pain. I was able to function at subpar."

"I’ve suffered from chronic daily migraines for 11 years and tried almost every migraine medication out there (triptans, anti-seizure, anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, muscle relaxants, Botox, opioids, etc.). Only got partial success from the triptans. When the CGRP medications came out (finally!), my neurologist prescribed Nurtec. Nurtec has been life-changing for me. It gets rid of 99% of my migraines within an hour. I only take 3/4 of a pill, and I eat 4 crackers beforehand to ward off any nausea. No side effects with this approach. Nurtec has given me my life back!"

"I am in my mid-50s, a female migraineur. The only thing that would work would be going to the hospital and getting the migraine cocktail. Sometimes the pain would be so bad that even that wouldn’t work. My neurologist went through the traditional migraine preventatives such as triptans and Botox. Nothing worked. For a short period of time, I held them back with a ketogenic diet, which was difficult to maintain while caring for my aging parents as they passed. A year ago, my neurologist suggested Ubrelvy, so I researched it and learned about Nurtec. I asked for prescriptions for both so that I could compare them. Both work in my case. Ubrelvy is harder on my system, so I take only half a pill, and I only use it for when I get a migraine in the middle of the night. Nurtec, on the other hand, has been a godsend to me. I do not have the digestive problems others are reporting."

"Works well for me. I don't want to say it's a miracle drug, but it kinda is for me. It does target the headaches and migraines well. Within 1 hour the first time taking the medication, it was strange, it pushed the headache behind my eyes. The pain migrated and then started to dissipate, almost like it was pushing it out of my head. Then it was gone entirely. I haven't had any more head pain since taking this for them. It hasn't had any drowsy effect on me personally, and I'm wide awake. No nausea from the pill itself, which is great. Taste is okay, it's not horrible compared to other medications I take daily, so that's a plus. Dissolves pretty quickly. Only side effect I noticed is mild eye twitching or a type of pulsating. I wasn't having this before starting Nurtec ODT. It started with the second dose and has occurred every time after when taking. It's fine, I'll take that over the headaches and migraines that were debilitating."

"Where has this been in my life? Took it for the first time today and knocked my migraine out within 1/2 hour. This has never happened with any pain management meds. Really impressed, and I feel good. If you have not tried it and are thinking about it, do it. Definitely worth it."

"Side effects are worse than Imitrex, and the taste is awful. If this actually worked, I may have been able to deal with the fatigue, stomach pain, and nausea, but alas, it’s like popping a horribly flavored breath mint with no effect on headaches! No thanks."

"I usually take Eletriptan, which I have been very satisfied with. My neurologist retired, and I was referred to a neurologist who was very stuck on this class of medication. This drug, which was not supposed to have side effects, did not work and exacerbated my gastric reflux. The neurologist's solution was to increase my dose of Omeprazole, a gastric reflux medicine. It was the first and last time I took Nurtec, and I am looking for a new neurologist. I guess I will have to live with migraines when the last of my medicine runs out. The neurologists in Phoenix don't seem to be taking new patients."

"This is the only migraine medication that has ever helped me. As others have stated, it does take about an hour to an hour and a half to fully work, but it does stop my aura from continuing and keeps the headache from surging. Additionally, I don’t get groggy or feel ill from it. I have had two episodes of migraine where it did come back within 36 hours, and then the Nurtec didn’t really work. I don’t love the taste or that you have to dissolve it, but it’s worth it because it works most of the time. I recently tried some samples of Ubrevly that my doctor gave me, and I didn't like it. It didn’t work and made me feel so groggy and sick. Nurtec and some ibuprofen is the right combo for me."

"It has only been 1 week, but so far, so good. The only way I can describe this is by comparing it to putting in a new pair of contact lenses - it's like, woah, I didn't know I could see that well, it's almost overwhelming. This medication is like, woah, I didn't know my senses were supposed to be so clear, it's almost overwhelming. I feel like all the tension in my neck and head is gone, my sinuses opened, and I can think with clarity. No side effects."

"Nurtec has been a lifesaver for me. I was taking sumatriptan and it worked, but raised my blood pressure too high over time. Nurtec not only helps me through my migraines, but it also prevents more from coming without any side effects."

"I've taken Nurtec for about 4 months now. It does work for me, however, it seems to be causing heartburn and joint pain. I experienced both with one of the injectable CGRP medications (can't remember which one), none of which I no longer use because of side effects and inefficacy. It works for about 2 days, but then I need another dose. When preventatives and acute meds no longer work, it all seems kind of pointless."

"Finally found something that actually works for my migraines. It has helped as soon as I feel one coming on and after I already have one. I get migraines so bad I usually have to sit in a dark room with ice packs on my head to avoid sounds and nausea. I am glad my insurance approved Nurtec."

"I have tried Imitrex, propranolol, Topamax, nerve blocks, zombie, etc. for migraines, not to mention countless OTC meds. I have to say that Nurtec has been the best for me so far. It is the only medication I can take for relief and still carry on about my day. Triptans, like Imitrex, work but make me so nauseated and sleepy. I take Benadryl sometimes at night to help if I am still having some lingering pain. No real side effects for me, I do feel kind of irritable after taking it, but it could be because I am in pain waiting to feel better."

"I’ve had migraines for years, and it took a specialist to finally listen to me and take me seriously. Prescribed Nurtec, and it’s like a miracle. I take it when I start to feel a migraine coming on, and within 20 minutes, the pain, neck and shoulder tension, and brain fog are gone and stay gone for 48 hours. My episodes sometimes last 4-5 days, and I can take it twice and have relief the whole time. Before Nurtec, I thought my migraines were just pain, but now I know that the tension and brain fog are part of it too. No other meds work for me, and I would eat Advil like candy for 5 days just to be able to function. I’m so very grateful for this drug!"

"I was hesitant to try this because of the bad effects I've had from triptans. It made me a little sick to my stomach with some stomach pain, but I had an ongoing migraine for a month and a half, and this is the only thing that broke it! It's amazing. It was a lifesaver."

"I used to get migraines around my cycle, maybe once or twice a month tops. But recently, it's become 1 to 2 a week. And they were bad, all day in bed, vomiting, pounding head, sensitivity to light and smell. Even moving was hard. I went to my PCP and told her I wanted to try this med if she agreed, and she did. She said it's usually not covered by insurance, though, and every time she prescribed it, no patients were able to actually get it, so I didn't have my hopes up. But I went online and downloaded the $0 copay card, and to my surprise, at the pharmacy they apparently had used their own for me, and it was $0. I had a migraine that day, but it wasn't as severe. I had the pain in my head and eye and nausea. I came home and took the med, and was still pretty nauseous, but to my surprise, about an hour later, I felt all better. I thought it was a fluke. I tried the Nurtec again after suffering through a migraine all day, and it worked again. Two more times I've used it, and it works! Miracle drug? Perhaps!"

"This morning, I took Nurtec for the first time. I was awakened by the start of a migraine. Since nausea is listed as one of the effects, I made sure to eat something, like a piece of bread, before taking the medication. After waiting for a short while, I took the Nurtec. Well, my headache had disappeared by the time I arrived at work thirty minutes later. No nausea, no acid reflux, no stomach ache. I find that something light like a slice of bread, or crackers, can help prevent or reduce issues caused by some medications. Nurtec worked!"

"I have had migraines my entire life. Seriously. I have vivid memories of throwing up at dinner when I was four. I have been on preventive medications; propranolol worked well but made me too tired, metoprolol made them worse, indomethacin did nothing, and periactin gave me too intense of nightmares to know if it worked or not. I do take sumatriptan, which does work for the most part, but I often have a lingering ache in the back of my head and they often come back within a few hours. Sometimes it doesn’t work at all. Tonight I tried the samples my neurologist gave me, and I have never recovered so quickly and to the degree that I did. Within 45 minutes, I felt completely resurrected with just a mild soreness left over. With the intensity of the headache I had tonight, I expected to battle it for the next several days."
