For Bowel Preparation "I've used this prep twice: the first time I drank it as prepared in the container and followed the instructions: drink 3L within 3 hours. After about 2 1/2L, the nausea became too much... it felt like my body was refusing to allow the prep to leave my stomach the right way, and I ended up vomiting what seemed like an entire liter. The next morning, I tried to drink the remaining 1L, but again I started vomiting. The next time, I used lemon for the prep and ginger ale to wash my mouth out, and I decided to extend the 3 hours to 4. That helped in giving the prep a tolerable taste, and I didn't feel rushed to gulp the solution, but regardless, after 1 1/2L, my stomach said 'no more' and I began vomiting copious amounts. The next morning, I managed to drink only 2/3L. The fact is, for some, GoLYTELY is just not a viable option - for whatever reason, the body won't tolerate it. With the nausea and headache the next morning, I felt like I had literally poisoned my body. I know I will NEVER use it again."

For Bowel Preparation "It's a lot to drink, but you can do it. I used a straw and just chugged it down. I did use the lemon flavoring packet. It really didn't taste too bad. My suggestion is that when you first feel an urge to go... go! This stuff works. My doctor had me take 8 oz every 30 minutes, after the first two doses, it started working. I spent the rest of the day on or near the toilet. An hour after my last dose, I was done. I did not have any cramping, nausea, or vomiting. Overall, not a pleasant experience, but this liquid is not too bad."

For Bowel Preparation "Low residue diet 3 days before the test--white bread (toast, PB&J), plain bagels with cream cheese, crackers, pretzels, eggs, chicken, etc. Had jasmine tea, two scrambled eggs with butter, white bread toast with butter, before 9 a.m. Mixed lemon packet in prep and put it in the fridge. For lunch, had DELICIOUS 'Zoup' chicken broth. Also, lime jello, Gatorade, and apple juice. At 5 p.m., took a Zofran to ensure the prep would stay down. Not starving by 6 p.m. when I started prep! It didn't taste nearly as bad as I had imagined. After every few sips, chased it with apple juice or Gatorade. Within 2 hours, was able to drink 1/2 prep. Did its job. At 3:30 a.m., did the 2nd dose of prep. Again, drank only about 1/2 in 2 hours. Because I had eaten so lightly and so low residue for days prior, this was all I needed! Nurse said prep was GOOD! So, I didn't have to starve myself the day before, and didn't have to drink the gallon of prep! Hope this helps!"

For Bowel Preparation "Okay, so today I used MoviPrep, lemon-flavored, and I am someone who cannot deal with bad-tasting things, and this really hit that bad-tasting spot. I am honestly so nauseous from it and feel like I’m going to throw up more than go to the bathroom."

For Bowel Preparation "I could not tolerate the MoviPrep. Pure torture. It took me two hours (instead of one) to complete the first dose. Gave me nausea and could not stand the taste. I had to drink the second dose so slowly to avoid throwing up -- just tiny sips -- that I probably only got down about a 1/4 cup instead of one liter. However, the doctor said I was cleaned out, so it ended up okay. For my first colonoscopy, I had a similar problem (I don't remember what the Rx was), and I made the mistake of telling the office that I had not completed the dose (even though I thought I was pretty cleaned out), and after all that torture, they canceled the colonoscopy, so it was all for naught. That's why I didn't tell them this time (but they didn't ask, thank goodness)."

For Bowel Preparation "I drank the 1st dose at 6:00 PM and finished in 30 min, chasing each sip with a little sip of water in another glass. Both with ice cubes. It tasted like salty/artificially sweetened punch but not as bad in my opinion as I had in my mind after reading reviews. I started watery bowels at exactly 1 hour after starting the drink and 30 min after finishing. It is now 7:45, and it hasn’t stopped. I don’t feel nauseous yet, and no cramping. I’m hoping I’ll get a break to sleep, but I’m remaining optimistic. I’ll update after the 2nd dose."

For Bowel Preparation "I started taking GaviLyte-G in prep for my colonoscopy. I had to drink 2 liters the night before and 2 liters the morning of. I drank the 2 liters in 2 hours as directed and then began to vomit. After vomiting, I did have diarrhea for several hours. The taste was pretty nasty. It tasted like baking soda, salt, and metal. It was difficult to drink, but I continued to meet the guidelines of 8 oz every 15 minutes in order to consume the 2 liters in the prescribed 2 hours. Having this much liquid in such a short time caused bloating and nausea."

For Bowel Preparation "I used Plenvu to prep for a colonoscopy I had yesterday. I was extremely worried after reading the reviews that it was going to be a terrible experience (this is my second colonoscopy and used Suprep the first time). I did the 2-day split dosage. I started with the first drink around 6 pm, and by the time I finished (about 30 minutes), it was already affecting me. That lasted for about 2 hours, and then I was done…no cramping, and I slept really well through the night. I took my second drink at 4:30 am, and I had more stomach discomfort than the night before, but my doctor had also prescribed gas pills that I took after the drink, which helped. By the time we left for the hospital (around 8 am), everything was done. I was extremely cold after drinking the second drink in the morning, and that lasted for about an hour and a half, and then passed. I have a very sensitive stomach and am also prone to nausea, and I didn’t have any of those kinds of feelings/side effects."

For Bowel Preparation "I have to drink two bottles of this stuff, 2-day cleanse, and this is my second night. I started drinking it with a lemonade powder, I LOVE lemon anything, lol. Anyway, to me, it tasted horrible with the lemon, so I tried it by itself, and it tastes like baking soda and water. Last night at the beginning, I felt a little bloated and a very little nausea. After things started moving, my stomach settled down. I am drinking two jugs because my first test I used something else and it did not work as well as it should have. I pray this will be the last time for a long, long while! It does do the job!"

For Bowel Preparation "I had rectal cancer and a rectal resection in 2012. Used MoviePrep and Half Lytely with no problem. Two years have passed, and I experience nausea more frequently than before, and I am unable to finish even a third of the pineapple-flavored GoLYTELY. So bad. Salty pineapple, whoo whew."

For Bowel Preparation "I'm 29, and this is my second time in less than two months having to take MoviPrep. They couldn't complete the colonoscopy the first time around. Everyone has different side effects, but for me, it makes me so sick. I have to get a colonoscopy every two years, and this terrifies me. I'm very petite, and my stomach just doesn't hold out to 2L of it. I took the first batch at 5 pm, and it took me 2 hours. The second batch is not so easy. I started at 9 pm, and it's now 10:30 pm, and I can't stop vomiting. I've drunk half of the second batch, and my bowel is clear, so I'm hoping that will be enough for my colonoscopy tomorrow. The no eating and sitting on the toilet doesn't bother me at all, I wish there was something less nauseating!"

For Bowel Preparation "I took my first dose of Plenvu for a bowel prep at 6 pm this evening, drank 500 ml of water after, and within 5 mins, I felt bloated and uncomfortable, and then 10 mins later I was on the toilet. Feel quite nauseous but haven’t been sick. I don’t feel poorly at all so far, but after reading the other comments on here, I’ve already prepped Dose 2 and put it in the fridge. I think I’m averaging 3-5 minutes in between bathroom visits, but as long as it works for my procedure tomorrow, I don’t mind. Not looking forward to Dose 2, but it’s got to be done. Yes, flavors are difficult as they’re sweet and salty, but I had it alongside a glass of tonic water to help. I think 30 mins isn’t much time for 500 ml, but at least it gets it over and done with."

For Bowel Preparation "I thought the second dose was going to kill me before I had even drunk 2/3 of it. I was nauseated and lightheaded. I took a sip of decaffeinated tea, which was quickly followed by simultaneous projectile vomiting and diarrhea. I am so angry that I don't intend to ever have another colonoscopy, let alone attempt to ingest this product EVER again."

For Bowel Preparation "So far, (after first dose, before second) satisfactory. Finished first dose, followed with equal volume of water. Not a great taste, but no gagging or nausea. No other side effects. Liquid bowel movements at 1 and 2 hours after. No anal area problems. May have helped that my instructions included a three-day low fiber diet, then only clear liquids 36 hours before the first dose, and Dulcolax laxative 24 hours before the first dose, so my system was already empty. Also, I weigh 265 lb, so effects possibly different than for smaller people."

For Bowel Preparation "Getting ready for colonoscopy and unsuccessfully tried Go-Lightly before. My doctor said to mix with Sprite or Gatorade. I did and used the container provided, put the Sprite in, then Plenvu, and it erupted all over the countertop without stirring or shaking. I was excited to try this new prep, since my family has a history of colon cancer, this is a necessary evil. First gulp, I was horrified! It was so nasty tasting! I tried a few sips and got very nauseous. I wanted this to work, so I added apple juice too. Much easier, but still gagging. I finished it, added more apple juice, and just couldn’t finish the last inch of liquid in the bottom of the container. Very, very slow acting! It has been 4 1/2 hours, and my insides are rumbling, but not much else. I am very disappointed."

For Bowel Preparation "I was given the unflavored 4-liter bottle of GoLYTELY for colonoscopy prep and the split protocol (drink half at suppertime the night before and the other half 6 hrs before arrival). I was told I could add sugar-free lemonade Crystal Light (no other options permitted). The prep itself worked as expected, despite the fact that I was only able to drink 2/3 of the total volume. I developed severe nausea after the first phase of the prep and had to quit 2 glasses into the second phase. The super-salty flavor wasn't the problem -- I think it was the huge volume consumed quickly and the strong plastic odor/taste of the solution. I did not get dehydrated or dizzy (drank lots of fluids), so I think this stuff is the ticket if I can figure out how to beat the nausea."

For Bowel Preparation "I am taking this GoLYTELY prep right now. Please, get an anti-nausea pill to take a half hour before prep. Then when you drink, make sure to have a menthol cough drop in your mouth. It totally takes away the bad taste. It’s not bad at all."

For Bowel Preparation "Used it for a bowel prep before a hysterectomy. You have to drink it fast. I got distracted with the first glass and drank it too slow. Got off to a bad start. I had horrible stomach bloating and pain while I was drinking. It took about 2 1/2 hours for me to start going. My bum is on fire, but I am mostly clear and just liquid coming out. Also, made me very nauseous. There has got to be a better way."

For Bowel Preparation "I get nausea and motion sickness very easily. For me, any bowel prep is going to be a challenge. With this in mind, I took some anti-nausea medicine before the first dose (4 mg Ondansetron). That worked well. The second dose was 14 hours after the first. It didn't taste or smell too bad. The ascorbic acid taste (vitamin C) helped a lot. I didn't take any anti-nausea meds for Dose 2. Ninety minutes later, I had forceful vomiting. Cleaning it up at 3:30 a.m. helped to take my mind off the bloating! :-) I had to run several more times up to 4 1/2 hours after starting the second dose. The procedure went smoothly and the endoscopist said that the prep was great, despite the fact that I probably threw up half of the second dose. Next time, I will ask for enough anti-nausea meds to cover both doses of bowel prep. I suggest that others consider this if they are prone to nausea and vomiting. Even good doctors don't think of meds, as less than 10% of people throw up with bowel prep."

For Bowel Preparation "I took a generic form of this PEG-3350 bowel prep, the lemon-lime. It was already flavored, so no flavor packets to deal with. (Polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution) for my colonoscopy prep. Its taste is very palatable, imagine drinking a 7 Up that has gone flat. It's a mild lemon-lime flavor that's a little bit salty. Easy to drink, no gag, no holding the nose. I took an anti-nausea pill at 6 am (just in case, don't need to be expelling from both ends at the same time, LOL), started drinking the prep at 6:30 pm, and by 8 pm it was working well. At 10:30 pm I was able to go to bed and actually sleep. The second dose started at 5:30 am and was expelling every 10 to 20 minutes up until 10 am. I had to be at the surgery center by 11 am, so I was getting concerned. Just wish you didn't have to drink a gallon of it since I also had to get down an additional 64 oz of water throughout the day, plus the liquid-only diet, that's just too much liquid! I'd choose this prep again, but I'd start drinking it 2 hours earlier than recommended."

For Bowel Preparation "The taste is extremely horrible, it smells and tastes like chemicals. I can't hold it. I threw up a few times taking it. I had to take 4 liters. The lemon package won't even help. How come it smells and tastes so bad?"

For Bowel Preparation "Drink MoviPrep chilled and through a straw. The taste is a salty lemon, vile, awful, thick sludge. Use a chaser of ginger ale or white Gatorade. It’s easier to just chug through a straw. Do not. I repeat, do not go far from the bathroom once you start drinking. It started working within 15 minutes, and I had fasted for 26 hours already. And low fiber before that. I got chills, nausea, gagging from the drink and the taste. The chills lasted three hours. The bathroom trips lasted for 4 hours or more but slowed down. You cannot control it. The urge comes, or sometimes does not come. It just happens. Then it’s time for the second dose. I could barely get through the second one, and I’m more nauseated even after a prescribed anti-nausea pill I had on hand from a previous issue."

For Bowel Preparation "Well, taking this for colonoscopy prep was fearing the worst, but has been a breeze. No pain, slight nausea, and slight headache. Started working within 45 mins. Deduced a star as I took my last lot at 6:45, and it is now half past 11 and still going to the toilet. I want to sleep, lol. But does the job, and don't be put off by the horror stories. It's easy, just chill on the toilet with a good book or phone. If anything, I was actually bored sitting on the toilet so much more than anything, and wet wipes and Vaseline are a must."

For Bowel Preparation "This stuff tastes absolutely horrible. Was able to choke down the first dose, however, I threw up the second dosage but was still able to absorb enough to complete the procedure. It acted very quickly for me (in about 50 minutes) and actually didn’t hurt my stomach too badly at the time. I’m recovering now, and my stomach hurts very badly, and I feel pretty terrible, but it did the job. Overall, it’s effective but pretty unpleasant."
