For Bowel Preparation "I bought MoviPrep at Walmart Canada for $32. The doctor prescribed a laxative at 8 am today, which did a lot of the heavy lifting. I followed a liquid diet today and took prep at 6 pm. It took 1.5 hours to begin working. Three hours in, and I think I may be done. I mixed it with lemon/lime Gatorade and chilled it. I plugged my nose and drank 8 oz every 15 min. I am chilled, but that was the only side effect. I'm going to prepare my 6 am dosage now. GLTA."

For Bowel Preparation "I started my prep at 10:00 tonight, 3/6/2015, late due to the storm and having to travel 6 hours away. First off, this isn't my first and won't be my last. I started just on clear liquids on Tuesday so I wouldn't have a lot to come out. So I drank my first liter at 10:00 and not 5 minutes after my first 8 ounces, I was in the bathroom. I continued and got both liters down and have had some ice chips. It's 2:25 AM, I am still on the commode and it's all clear. I did have issues with vomiting this time, which is not me, I have these at least every three months. But overall, I am now hoping I am on the downside and can lay down and get warm. The chills are the worst."

For Bowel Preparation "The first sachet of mango-flavored liquid was almost undrinkable and had to be consumed within 30 mins, followed by another 500 ml of plain water. The water was great compared to the first sachet. The second dose at 9:00 pm was made up of two sachets, allegedly of another 500 ml with punch fruit flavor, and was totally undrinkable. I forced myself to, but felt quite sick as it tasted not of punch fruit but some sickly chemically based sweetener. Aspartame, no doubt. The preparation has a more vigorous and longer-lasting laxative effect than other preps I have taken and gave me quite strong stomach cramps. I felt really dehydrated, exhausted, and cold even through the procedure despite drinking plenty. I started my preparation at 6 pm yesterday and was still needing the toilet at 4:00 am and then again at 9:30 this morning. This is not an improvement on previous preparations - how can this have been trialed by Norgine and considered to be an improvement?"

For Bowel Preparation "Worst prep experience ever. It was the foulest tasting concoction this side of Venus. Honestly… who taste tests this stuff, the Marquis de Sade? Effective? If you enjoy incontinence and blowing up your local sewer system, then Plenvu is for you. Want cold chills and nausea? Then run, don’t walk, to your nearest pharmacy and pay way too much money for this prep."

For Bowel Preparation "Unpleasant taste, but expected that, salty and fake fruity taste at the same time, it helped to take large sips of water after each sip. Effect happened in about an hour, and continued for about 3 hours. I think it helped that I only had 2 slices of white toast and butter 7 hours before the first dose, and followed a strict low-fiber diet the day before the 1st dose. The worst side effect for me was having a severe headache throughout, and feeling very cold, despite it being summertime warm weather I needed lots of extra warm clothing during and after the dose. Totally exhausted on completion so ready to sleep."

For Bowel Preparation "So I was absolutely terrified to use this medication due to the reviews and the fact that every time I have done a colonoscopy prep, I get violently ill, like both ends going at the same time. It is just horrible. But this one surprisingly did not make me vomit. I will say this time around I made sure throughout the day I stayed very hydrated, and I took Zofran prior to starting, which I think helped a lot. I did notice chills at the beginning, and then I did have some body aches, but this went away. I kept the prep super cold and drank it slowly. I also put mine over ice and chased it with water or apple juice. For reference, also I am 23 and 112 pounds. It is a tough prep but just breathe and take your time. :) It is all for a good cause."

For Bowel Preparation "I wished I hadn't visited this page before taking the MoviPrep because I had no worries until I saw the bad experiences. I have emetophobia and saw others having chills and cramps, which were the symptoms of some of my worst bouts of digestive distress. I am delighted to say the only unpleasant thing I experienced was trying to get so much liquid down, because my wife mixed the prep for me and put 4 ounces too many. Other than that, it almost tasted kind of good. Maybe they've improved the flavor since what some other people experienced? I did have slight cramps while first drinking the morning dose, but that could have been the lemon wedges that I later stopped biting because the flavor wasn't an issue."

It's almost a week since I have taken MoviPrep, and today after eating my food, I am still getting abdominal cramps, chills, shivers, and nausea. I hope this is not permanent damage!"

For Bowel Preparation "Firstly, these reviews gave me hysterics at a time when I’m 4 hours away from my 2nd prep and just off the phone to the medical hotline after thinking I was going to have a heart attack! Strangely, this has calmed me. Four colonoscopies now, and this is the WORST PREP I’ve ever had. I can look past the taste, but the nausea when trying to drink it, the nausea after, the heart palpitations, chills - I am so rugged up and still shivering. Thankful to have found this thread and discovered this is all normal. Looking forward to getting myself to the hospital in the morning so they can deal with the aftermath of this absolute ‘crap’ prep!"

For Bowel Preparation "Probably would have been easier to choke down if the texture of it in my mouth didn't remind me of the strings of dog drool my dog has after drinking water. The taste was horrible, and adding flavor packets did nothing to change that. It caused horrible chills, severe bloating, and horrid abdominal discomfort. And made my GERD symptoms worse."

For Bowel Preparation "Started the prep at 12 PM. I was first given a laxative to take, within a couple of hours, had the runs. Within a couple of hours, I was already yellow to clear. At 5 PM, I started drinking the first dose of Plenvu, within a half hour, I was on the toilet. Five hours of nonstop going! Felt cold during the night, didn't get any sleep. Started drinking the second dose at 5 AM for an 8 AM procedure. I couldn't get off the toilet. I started shaking, so weak I could hardly stand, lightheaded, and my mouth so dry. Needless to say, I had to cancel the procedure. I will never take Plenvu again! Still feeling the aftermath, stomach is so messed up."

For Bowel Preparation "The most difficult experience to take this I have ever had with drinking medicine. Struggled not to vomit and had to block my nose to reduce the taste. I could not finish drinking either of my doses within the advised 30-minute drinking time for each and had to drink each over an hour. I tried using chewing gum mint and polo mints to help with the taste, but it didn't really work. I suggest using a straw and avoiding your taste buds completely. I had chills and became incredibly anxious as I felt drinking it would never end. Traumatizing has been used to describe this by others, and I agree. It worked with its bowel clearing, but it took me so long to drink the second dose I had to finish it on the toilet because things started moving before I could finish. After the second dose is taken three hours after the first, as prescribed by my particular doctor, it was five hours until I could sleep in the middle of the night, as I kept needing the toilet from my bowels."

For Bowel Preparation "This medication worked, but the side effects are significant. I vomited on dose 2 and experienced chills and nausea with both doses. Whoever thought 'mango' and 'fruit punch' were a good idea should take a long, hard look at themselves. Nope!"

For Bowel Preparation "I found the first dose harder to handle than the second. I had cramps after the first dose. It was hard to get down and took me 90 minutes to finish. The second dose I finished in 35 minutes. Both doses made me bloated and nauseous. I also had chills after the second dose. It seems to be working as expected. I didn’t find using a straw helped, but keeping it cold and taking water after each drink of the solution did help."

For Bowel Preparation "It’s my first time preparing for a colonoscopy, and I’ve got to say, I would not wish this on my worst enemy. Had my first dose at 3 AM. The taste was awful, made me nauseous. Drank 32 ounces of water following. This is the amount needed just to get rid of the aftertaste. Kicked in after 20 mins. I was on the toilet for two hours straight. Made it to the yellow/clear phase. I slept for an hour before taking the second dose. The first sip made me vomit. I immediately mixed it with more water to make it even slightly tolerable. I made it through 3/4 of the dose, but had to stop before I was sick again. Drank another 32 ounces of water. The water definitely helps lessen the burning and irritation. To note: with the second dose, I’m cold, I have the chills, and I’m still going clear. Hoping this does not last as many hours as some of the reviews state so I may be able to sleep for a little bit before my procedure."

For Bowel Preparation "Worst experience of my life. Worked as advertised, but tasted awful. I may as well have poured straight salt down my throat. Thought I'd puke there for a while. First dose @ 5 pm and second at 3 am. Never slept... too busy. Butt so sore by daylight, I could hardly walk. Experienced chills all night. Assuming polyps come back benign as expected by doc, I'm done. You'd think if the preps could be vastly improved upon, more people would have colonoscopies."

For Bowel Preparation "Dose 1 - 6 pm the night before my scope, salty and thick, horrible fake mango flavor. I divided the 500 mL over three glasses and had each one 15 mins apart. I had a sip of water and lemonade after each sip to combat the taste, followed with a combination of 700 mL of water, chicken stock, and black tea. No cramps or bloating, just lots of tummy groans. First BM was around 8:30 pm, followed by four more until 3 am but still nowhere near clear. My gastro said to have the second dose at 1 pm for my 4 pm scope, but I rang and asked to take it earlier, and it was recommended to get things moving. Dose 2 - fruity flavor, much nicer, not as thick. Divided over three glasses, chilled it again, and took 10 mins apart, with 500 mL of water after. Had nausea and had chills after the 3rd glass, had to lie down for 2 hours to combat the nausea. BM became frequent and watery (but cloudy yellow) within an hour, still had BMs 2 mins before going into theater at 4 pm. Dr. said prep was excellent."

For Bowel Preparation "Was prescribed this for colonoscopy prep. Followed my physician’s office instructions to a T. No nuts, etc., for three days before. Day before the procedure, clear liquids only. Took the first dose at 6:30 pm. It didn’t seem thick at all to me. Taste was no good, but none of this is fun. Within an hour of taking it, I had bad chills, couldn’t seem to get warm. It took three hours to take effect. It was not urgent for me. When I went to sleep at 11 pm, my last bowel movement was nowhere near clear. I put three blankets on me and socks to try to keep warm. The next morning, I drank coffee and some broth, as my physician’s nurse said some broth before the second dose is a good idea. The second dose was so sweet, it was harder to get down. It worked faster, as it seems to be a double dose. It took me many bowel movements to finally get clear yellow results. My behind got so sore! I also got the chills shortly after taking this dose. No way I am taking this medicine again, took too long."

For Bowel Preparation "I’m 19, and I have a colonoscopy in the morning. Many of my family members and close friends have had this procedure along with similar preps, however, none of them were ever recommended Plenvu. And let me just say, absolutely never again. Not only did this taste horrid, it left me nauseous throughout the entire night. While drinking it, I threw up 3 times, so most of it probably didn’t even stay in my system, and the chills were absolutely unbearable. I understand I do not have experience with other people, but I can say that I will not ever recommend this to anyone, not even my worst enemy."

For Bowel Preparation "This was horrendous for me. I have no idea what is in this, but I have never been allergic to anything in my life. I drank about half of the first dose, and my eyes got itchy, then I vomited and got the chills, and my face began to swell, then I broke out in hives. For about 12 hours after taking this, my eyes were still red, and they stung really bad. It hurt to have them open or closed. I couldn't get my colonoscopy done, which annoyed me because I'd done the 3-day prep and had my kids looked after, all for nothing. Instead, I ended up in the emergency room. This gets 0 out of 10 from me."

For Bowel Preparation "Yesterday I was reading your comments for MoviPrep 22/10/21, and today I can share with you my experience. On Saturday at 1 pm, I had my gastroscopy and colonoscopy, with a diagnosis from my dietitian for SIBO C and dysbiosis in my large intestine. I have been on a restricted diet for 2 weeks now, so the diet preparation was very difficult for me. So, I started it 3 days before the diet. On Friday, a day before the colonoscopy, I ate at 12 pm 2 scrambled eggs and at 4 pm a small portion of basmati rice with 2 boiled chicken legs. After that, I started at 7:30 pm drinking my MoviPrep. The taste is not nice, a heavy flavor, I could feel 4 flavors - salty, sweet, sour, and bitter at the same time. My trick was to start with small sips of the first glass so my body slowly got used to it. It took me about 1 hour to 1 hour and a half to finish my first liter. I felt chills, tired, and mild dizziness and headache. Keep strong, this became mild after 5 to 7 hours after drinking an additional 2 liters of water."

For Bowel Preparation "Horrible! I don't know who dreamed this up. It's like drinking 4 liters of cooking oil. I was told it's better cold (it's probably the only way you can swallow it). Halfway through, I was shaking so hard that my teeth were chattering. The prep worked, but I will never, ever use this foul stuff again."
