For Bowel Preparation "I think if you prepare your diet well the week leading up to your prep, you should be fine. Make sure you are hydrated and somewhat regular in the days prior. I found the taste fine when put in the fridge. Yeah, it's not my choice of beverage, but certainly is not repulsive, as a lot of these comments suggest. I had no issues taking the whole solution while chasing it with sips of Gatorade. I mixed the sachet into a 700ml mixer bottle, so there was less to drink overall and chased it with little sips of Gatorade. Since I'm a slow drinker, I started maybe an hour early and finished it over 1.5-2 hours while watching TV. Didn't feel bloated or have any cramping, but everyone is different, I guess. Felt some bubble guts after about 40 minutes and started to poop. Don't trust any farts after drinking bowel prep, lol. My stool was pretty much clear after the first prep and only ended up using about 2/3 of the second one later. Not scary at all, would recommend it."

For Bowel Preparation "Had to fast for 24 hours, which is not good news for somebody who tends to get stomach acid, so I already felt sick. It is ridiculous to take sipping it, as 1 liter is a large amount of liquid. I sucked it through a straw. Although the liquid was not nice, the worst thing was the effect it had on my tummy. It felt as if it was going to explode and was so swollen I looked pregnant. I was producing liquid through my bowel after the first dose. I propped myself up in bed and had about one hour's sleep. The next dose was just as bad. I know people's bodies are different, but could it not be foreseen that a person who gets irritable bowel would have an adverse reaction? I have to say the nurses and doctor at the examination were wonderful. Gas and air worked well with me, but I told them I would never use this prep liquid again."

For Bowel Preparation "Worked fine. Mixed water with Crystal Light lemonade first, then let it get to room temp. Then mixed in MoviPrep. Tasted fine. My problem is the side effect 24 hours after the last dose. Lots of stomach discomfort and bloating, not from the procedure since it had to be canceled because the doctor was away. Yuk...have to do this again next week...he did reimburse me the 50 bucks for the script."

For Bowel Preparation "Needed to go after 30 minutes, probably been around 10-12 times in the 2 hours. Feel a little bloated but generally clean and empty (craving food already, of course). So long as my girlfriend eats her perfect risotto in the other room, then it's okay. People complaining about the taste, it tastes completely fine. Like an old fizzy drink, slightest (teeny-tiniest) metallic taste, but apart from that, it's just very sweet and syrupy. It could have been 5000x worse, then it could be named 'disgusting.' Wish everyone a happy result and hope we all get stronger stomachs in the end!"

For Bowel Preparation "I started drinking 4 liters of GoLYTELY at 3 pm, for a scheduled colonoscopy at 3:30 the next day. The directions said to drink 8 oz every 10 minutes until the stool was clear. I did the first 2 drinks 10 minutes apart, then 15 min apart, then 20 minutes apart as it made me full and bloated, plus a little nauseous. I asked Google how many cups are in 4 liters, and when I found out that there are 16 cups in 4 liters, I started drinking it again after 10 minutes, until the entire amount was finished. It took me 3.5 hours to do, and I had my first BM about 2.5 hrs after starting. 3 hours after finishing, I’m drinking clear liquids and still having to go to the bathroom. But now it’s mostly light yellow water with flecks of sediment. So I guess I’m ready for the procedure! Too bad it’s only 10:30 pm now and I have to wait until about 6 pm tomorrow to eat!"

For Bowel Preparation "Probably would have been easier to choke down if the texture of it in my mouth didn't remind me of the strings of dog drool my dog has after drinking water. The taste was horrible, and adding flavor packets did nothing to change that. It caused horrible chills, severe bloating, and horrid abdominal discomfort. And made my GERD symptoms worse."

For Bowel Preparation "It is a bit like drinking seawater, so not great, but not awful. I had one strongish stomach cramp during the evening, and my stomach felt hard and bloated, but other than that, no real pain, just the urge to go to the toilet every 25 min or so. It was nothing like having a stomach bug. When I was taking the second lot the following morning, I had no pain, just the need for the loo regularly. I did feel a little bit dizzy at times."

For Bowel Preparation "Most ingredients in this are the same as in Movicol, which I take regularly for IBS-C maintenance. I usually have flavorless Movicol and stomach its salty taste easily. I’m taking MoviPrep to prepare for a colonoscopy tomorrow and barely tolerate this horrible, overly artificially sweetened, artificially flavored vomit juice. Trying to get it out of the way as quickly as I can, I got the first liter down in about half an hour or so. Feeling extremely bloated and nauseous. Felt lightheaded shortly after finishing. I’ve done this once before, so I am prepared for the ‘evacuation’ and know what to expect there. I know it is effective. My main problem with it is that I honestly feel like it would be more tolerable without all the extra sweetener and flavor in it! I don’t understand how they think it’s better this way! The awful aftertaste is 100% from the sweetener attempting to mask the underlying saltiness."

For Bowel Preparation "I followed every step, from the diet for 7 days prior until the split dose. My biggest problem had been gas and bloating, no cramps, starved from 1 pm yesterday for my appointment today at 3 pm. It was unsuccessful. The colon was not cleansed despite being unable to leave the bathroom from 6 am this morning. Now I'm back home with horrendous cramping and bloating. All the diet fasting and drinking the liquid was all for nothing, I won't go back for another try."

For Bowel Preparation "My appointment was for 7:30 a.m., so I had to take MoviPrep the day before. I found the taste to be so disgusting I could not finish my first liter, and it made me sick. It made my bowels move as it should have done, but because of the sickness, I had to cancel the appointment. My stomach now feels bloated. I am now going to have to use something else. I'm not happy at all."

For Bowel Preparation "3rd routine colonoscopy. Received this product from Kroger pharmacy. This was by far the worst prep experience. Lemon flavor okay, getting it down okay, but esophagitis all night, bloating, pain, nausea, vomiting x 8 with pink color. I did not vomit until after all prep down. The clean out was good. I never had this with prior."

For Bowel Preparation "2nd time having a colonoscopy, first time a breeze from beginning to end, even drinking the prep (TRILYTE) NO PROBLEM. Flush lasted only hours. This time the prep was PEG-3350 with Electrolytes, horrible. Why? Flavored unnecessary, very heavy, the combination made me nauseous, bloating, distended belly. I was RUNNING to the bathroom 2 days later, my stomach has never stopped rumbling and growling. I have little to no appetite. Took the prep on Tuesday, today is Friday and I still feel ill."

For Bowel Preparation "I've been doing bowel preps since 1991, and NuLYTELY brand has been the best, however, since COVID, unable to get flavor packs, only lemon lime is offered, which I'm not crazy about. Other brands, particularly generics, I vomit and get abdominal bloating, and legs swell. Never had any bad effects from NuLYTELY. I get colonoscopies yearly and has NOT caused any colon issues. Taking 2 Ducolax pills in the AM prior to starting NuLYTELY helps clean the colon. Dr. prescribed that regime."

For Bowel Preparation "I found the first dose harder to handle than the second. I had cramps after the first dose. It was hard to get down and took me 90 minutes to finish. The second dose I finished in 35 minutes. Both doses made me bloated and nauseous. I also had chills after the second dose. It seems to be working as expected. I didn’t find using a straw helped, but keeping it cold and taking water after each drink of the solution did help."

For Bowel Preparation "I started my first dose at 4:15. It’s now 7:00, and my stomach is so bloated and cramping and gurgling that I cannot even think about doing dose two. I’ve never heard or felt my stomach doing what it’s doing. The instructions say if you’re experiencing severe bloating, wait until your stomach feels better to start the second packet. Gurgle gurgle, stomach cramps. Whatever preps I used before, I did not have this happen. I thought it was going to be much better when they told me I could do the ‘mini prep’. I have to be in tomorrow for 8:30 AM. Can I take anti-gas pills? I’m scared to start packet 2. I will not do Plenvu again. I’m tough, age 62, never had stomach cramps or period cramps before - feeling crampy is a first for me."

For Bowel Preparation "Had colonoscopy 10 days ago, 2 liters of MoviPrep didn’t work. It had a nice strong lemony flavor, took the first liter between 1 pm & 2 pm, plus a liter of water. No bowel movement, felt nauseous, headache, body hurt, dizziness, and couldn’t relax. Second between 5 pm & 6:30 pm with a liter of water. I was bloated, regurgitating, pain. No bowel movement by 11 pm, all fours position alleviated some pain. Hot herbal tea & 1/2 hour of meditation on the loo, slowly it began to happen. Not explosive or often, but up all night with wet wind. Procedure was at 1:40 pm & not cleared out enough. Second colonoscopy on Saturday, I have three liters of MoviPrep. Had low-fiber diet all week. I normally take laxatives nightly, which take a lot longer than it says on the box! My history is chronic slow transition & rectocele. Hopefully, this time it works."

For Bowel Preparation "I’m not a stranger to bowel prep; this is my 5th time. What makes Plenvu unique is the small amount that you’re required to drink. Unfortunately, what it lacks in volume, it makes up in intensity. Everything about this prep is intense. The taste, the gurgling, the bloating — for me, it was all more uncomfortable than usual. That said, no vomiting, and I survived, and it was effective. Btw, I needed more time with this prep. I started dose one at 4 p.m. (instead of 6 p.m.), and dose one was still working 10 hours later. I started dose two at 2 a.m. for a 9:20 a.m. report time. I was pretty much “all clear” by 6 a.m."

For Bowel Preparation "So, thanks to all of the comments on this site re: Plenvu, I made a plan for drinking the prep. I took Zofran anti-emetic an hour before I started the prep (asked Dr. for Rx--thanks to the person who recommended!). I mixed and chilled Dose 1 for about 3 hours in the fridge before I started. I got a McDonald's straw (wide diameter) and put the straw all the way back in my mouth and sucked down the juice. I also held my breath, only breathing through my mouth, to ensure that I would not get the nasty taste. I did get a bit of the bitter taste, but immediately washed my mouth out with water and drank Gatorade as a chaser. I think it was key that I used the straw and also did not breathe through my nose. It took me about 4 long pulls with the straw and I got it all down in 30 minutes. This method worked well--I feel okay except for some dizziness and bloating. Now just sipping cold Gatorade and waiting for the magic to happen. It's been an hour and nothing yet, only noisy gas rumblings..."

For Bowel Preparation "Using the split dose, it seems to be working quite well. I'm 80 y/o, and haven't had a colonoscopy for about 12 yrs prior. Honestly, I'm rather impressed with the taste and the performance. My initial reaction to the flavor was biting into a fresh peach...that portion nearest the pit. Very dominant. On the other hand, though, it's touted to taste like mango [packet #1], so you be the judge. I have no additional side effects beyond feeling a bit bloated [I'm just 45 minutes into packet #1]. It's easy to mix and dissolves rather quickly, as its texture is finer than table sugar."

For Bowel Preparation "This was my second colonoscopy. Can’t remember much of the first one, only that I had real cramps and didn’t produce much. For this one, I started my first prep at 3:30 pm. All I did was just close off my nose from smelling or tasting so it went down easier. Took about 15 minutes to finish prep and then drank two more bottles of water. Didn’t taste a thing. A few belches was the only way I knew what it tasted like. I had some bloating because of all the liquids you have to drink in an hour's time. Took about an hour and a half after I finished, then the floodgates opened. No cramps or nausea with this step. It lasted until about 7:00 pm. Felt okay. Slept about 4 hours until the second at 1:30 am. The second dose was a little hard to get down. I was tired and not much in my stomach to coat the second dose. Got a little nauseous with this step. I took my time drinking the second dose and it took everything I had to keep it down, and I did. It does the job with minimal side effects."

For Bowel Preparation "This was my 1st colonoscopy, so I had no history to look back on. The reviews on here were spot on for Dose 1. It’s an awful mango flavor that’s sweet, salty, and thick. The mere thought of it still makes me queasy. I managed to finish 95% of it in about 40-45 minutes. Drinking apple juice in between sips was definitely helpful advice. I had a temporary crown installed the week before and was on a very soft food diet, so that really helped. Dose one did its job effectively. My doctor gave me anti-nausea meds, and I took those based on the reviews from this site. I had zero issues with bloating or cramping. Dose 2, at a wonderful 4:15 AM, was another awful fruit punch flavor that was just as sweet and salty as Dose 1, but thank God it wasn’t a syrup consistency. I choked down 90% of it and quit when I threw it up. Overall, this was an awful prep experience, but I never really vomited, so thankful for that at least. My colonoscopy went well."
