For Bowel Preparation "Easy to put this product in perspective if you've had lots of colonoscopies. Get them every 1-2 years since young adulthood. I have issues with the ones that contain vast amounts of liquid; not yummy either, and I have more nausea because too much liquid too fast. This product, by far the best I've used, also prefer to the OTC method. The smell is lemon, like lemon cleaning products. Don't sit smelling before; just drink it. It tastes of salty lemon Gatorade, so don't use lemon Gatorade as your extra liquid. With this stuff, I had fewer cramps, one of the easiest to take, and cleaned me out great. Side note makes the process easier and cleaner: stop eating seeded food (and nuts) another 24 hours before the diet starts; anything with seeds, including berries and certain veggies (carbs and protein are good)."

For Bowel Preparation "I've spent many hours reading all sorts of horror stories on MoviPrep. Here's mine (I'm currently on the final glass of the 2nd dose). Two days before the procedure, I ate very lightly. Yesterday, I ate nothing, but did drink lots of fluids, including Gatorade. Drank the first 32 oz at 6 pm. Took me 1.25 hours to get it down. Tastes yucky, but not THAT bad. Results started pretty much right after that, and I stayed in the toilet for a solid hour or more. It didn't hurt, just a little uncomfortable and some tummy gurgling. Went to bed and got some sleep, but woke up feeling a little nauseous. Then I had to get up at 3:30 to do my 2nd liter. Almost done now. We'll see if all goes well at the appointment."

For Bowel Preparation "Okay... Taste: not great. A bit like a syrupy/metallic taste. Just drink it very quickly and you’ll be okay. I drank mine within about 10 minutes. Makes you feel slightly nauseous drinking it that quickly, but it’s much better than messing around and drinking it slowly. Bowel movements started about 20 minutes after drinking. You basically just pass liquids. I probably went to the toilet 5 or 6 times during 1 and a half hours after finishing the drink. Didn’t need to run to the toilet, or sit in the bathroom for the duration. You can feel that you need to go and you can go at your leisure. The second dose seemed to work quicker, within probably 5 minutes of finishing the drink. Again, over a 1.5 hour spell, I probably went around 6 times - passing liquids only. Use wet wipes, whack some cream on, and you’ll be okay. You get sore towards the end, but it has to be done."

For Bowel Preparation "After reading these reviews, I was terrified as I have severe emetophobia (fear of vomit), and if you’re in the same position, let me reassure you, it will be fine! I had to drink one liter from 5-7 pm and the second liter from 8-10 pm. Some tips: 1. Refrigerate it beforehand and drink it through 2 straws. 2. It tastes like salted water, not pleasant but completely bearable when chased by something (cordial, apple juice, lime wedge). Create a station of drinks. 3. Sip each glass in a half-hour stretch, that’ll help to not get stomach cramps/nausea, there’s no need to chug! I also paced around as I drank, which helped with bloating and distracted me from the taste. 4. Create a comfortable environment in the bathroom and distract yourself with entertainment, I had Gogglebox on my iPad loudly (helps if it is a funny show as it keeps you in a good mood). 5. Get ready for bed beforehand, in pajamas, make-up off, etc., as you’ll spend the evening on the toilet. 6. Give yourself a pep talk for the last glass!"

For Bowel Preparation "I chilled MoviPrep, took my time between 2 glasses, tried a straw, tried to mix with flavored iced tea, but still did not manage fully the first liter. The 3rd glass just came back the same way it went down straight away as the taste was overwhelmingly bad. No effect even after partially drinking, so my hubby went and got me senna, and I took 2 of them before going to bed. Now I am in the morning before my afternoon appointment, going to the toilet, but unsure it will be enough. I had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy a few years back in another country, and the prep was much better, less amount to drink, don’t recall such a vile taste, and it worked beautifully. At that time I did not eat 72 hours before, so that was more the challenge. The only positive effect of MoviPrep was that after the first sip I was no longer hungry as I got nauseous, bloated, and felt sick."

For Bowel Preparation "Started drinking this MoviPrep at 11 pm. It's the most disgusting thing I have drank. Every time I took a sip, I felt like throwing up, but had no choice taking it, so took it in big gulps. Finished the first liter within 1.5 hours. After 45 minutes, all hell broke loose. Went to the toilet about 10 times. It was all watery. It's worked absolutely fine, but tastes awful. I wish I didn't have to take the second liter."

For Bowel Preparation "This works. Fast. I did take a suggestion and add a packet of flavored drink powder, but it was so foul, I'm not sure it made any difference. I struggled with nausea during the first liter, so for the second liter, I poured the swill into a chilled stainless steel measuring cup and slammed it. Gawds bless all of us who have to drink MoviPrep!"

For Constipation, Chronic "The taste is terrible. I would rather there not be a lemon or sweet taste. Thought I was going to be sick. Holding breath, nose, and big gulps is helpful. This stuff does work though. I have a colonoscopy in the morning. I suffered through the first liter at 6 pm and the second at 10 pm. Couldn't make it through the entire second liter. I had about 2 oz left. Good luck, everyone!"

For Bowel Preparation "The worst bowel prep I've ever used. I found the solution easier to handle by refrigerating it before drinking. I don't know how anyone could drink it warm. I can't drink large amounts of anything at once, so I needed to take small sips. EVERY swallow made me want to gag. I am physically unable to vomit, but oh, I wished I could. I was nauseated the entire 6 hours of prep. I spent most of the 6 hours (I took part 1 from 6 to 7 PM and part 2 started at 10 PM, finally exiting the bathroom after midnight) in the restroom and thought I'd done well cleaning out my system. Much to my surprise, the next morning, I still had dark runny stool. Worse, the doctor reported bad prep result with stool remaining, so he was not able to see well. REPEAT."

For Bowel Preparation "Well, it did what it was supposed to, but tastes so bad. I got through the 1st liter okay. I gulped it down. Bowels were moving about an hour after the first 8 oz. I had to drink a second liter several hours later and just couldn't do it. The taste is that bad. I threw up probably half a liter of it. Anyway, it cleaned out the bowels."

For Bowel Preparation "I was so nervous about taking this after hearing all the stories, but I honestly found it no problem to drink. I mixed a bit of lime cordial in with it, and it tasted fine to me. I did feel slightly nauseous after downing the whole liter, however, it soon passed. So far, it is definitely working. Now I know what people mean when they say a tap is turning on! Some gurgling, but no cramps, and I've not had to sprint to the loo or anything. Taking my next lot at 5, so I hope this works..."

For Gastrointestinal Decontamination "Ok, so the 1st time I drank it, I was like, eww, this thing is disgusting. Well, yeah, it tastes like watered-down lemonade with a lot of salt. So, the instructions say to mix it with lukewarm water. You can mix it, then refrigerate it BEFORE you drink the first dose. The only reason why it says to use lukewarm is so that the powder dissolves quicker. Well, I stuck to drinking it lukewarm. It took me 2 hours to drink half of the bottle. I was nauseous, lightheaded, and wanted to quit. My bf called some of the docs on call for me and told him that I wanted to cancel. He advised us nicely and calmly, 'You can stop drinking 'til you feel at ease again. Make sure you drink plenty of liquids.' The 2nd dose isn't as bad as the first. Drink long sips with a straw."

For Bowel Preparation "I found the easiest way to take this medication, and I wish I figured it out sooner. Freeze the solution until it's a slushy, add Crystal Light flavoring, and eat with a spoon. I went from a glass with ice and iced tea mix with a straw, and it took me over 4 hours to drink 8 oz to downing 8 oz in 20 minutes as a slushy. I found it best to not get anything lemon-flavored because you will become sick of that flavor quickly because the solution is a strong lemon flavor. The evacuation was not pleasant but not terrible. I spent short, frequent moments on the toilet. The Dr. says you can actually take as long as you want to drink it, as long as you finish the solution before x amount of time before the procedure. Drink lots of Gatorade the day of."

For Bowel Preparation "Had to fast for 24 hours, which is not good news for somebody who tends to get stomach acid, so I already felt sick. It is ridiculous to take sipping it, as 1 liter is a large amount of liquid. I sucked it through a straw. Although the liquid was not nice, the worst thing was the effect it had on my tummy. It felt as if it was going to explode and was so swollen I looked pregnant. I was producing liquid through my bowel after the first dose. I propped myself up in bed and had about one hour's sleep. The next dose was just as bad. I know people's bodies are different, but could it not be foreseen that a person who gets irritable bowel would have an adverse reaction? I have to say the nurses and doctor at the examination were wonderful. Gas and air worked well with me, but I told them I would never use this prep liquid again."

For Bowel Preparation "Had my colonoscopy a month ago. Just recommended MoviPrep to someone and came here to read what others said. First, there is a 5-day preparation for a colonoscopy, there are some foods you just don't eat. Having cleared a lot out of my digestive system with that reduced diet, the last step was fasting and MoviPrep. I am not a fan of drinking water, but I managed to follow the instructions. (I took mine warm because I prefer hot to cold). The taste wasn't all that bad. I watched a bit of the colonoscopy and saw that my colon was incredibly clean and pink. It looked amazing. Then they had to put me out as I got nauseous. MoviPrep works. That's all that matters."

For Bowel Preparation "I took MoviPrep last week, which has given me abdominal cramps, nausea, chills, and shivering. It's almost a week since I have taken MoviPrep, and today after eating my food, I am still getting abdominal cramps, chills, shivers, and nausea. I hope this is not permanent damage!"

For Bowel Preparation "Wasn't expecting it to taste like Champagne, but this is revolting. Not sure whether I can get the second lot down, as the nausea is getting worse. The extra water that it states I must use to drink alongside it has been used to dilute it further to try and make it more palatable, however, this isn't helping. It is working, but I am not looking forward to the night ahead. I suspect colonic irrigation would be easier to deal with."

For Bowel Preparation "MoviPrep does the job. It clears your bowels in preparation for your procedure. However, the taste and the texture really and truly are nauseating and almost intolerable. I have only so far taken one liter, so still have another liter to go in a few hours - which of course I’m dreading. Having said all that, I did not decide to write this review in order to add to the many detailed negative experiences many people have already shared. I instead wanted to share what did make it more manageable for me in the hope that it will make it more manageable for someone else. I read here that sucking lemons helps, but what I found worked the best for me was to suck the lemon, then squeeze some of the juice onto my tongue and keep it there. Then I drank a few gulps of the MoviPrep solution and straight away sucked some more lemon. This way, the sourness of the lemon was still enough to allow the solution to be slightly tolerable. Make sure not to swallow any bits of actual lemon!"

For Bowel Preparation "BLEAH! This stuff was foul tasting, and while I was able to get down the first dose, which I took at 6 p.m., my body wasn't having anything to do with finishing the second dose, which I started at 6 a.m. I had just finished the third glassful and promptly threw up. No heaves; just opened my mouth and it left in a hurry. Now I'm due for another colonoscopy, since obviously the prep for the first one didn't work, and I'm going to try to take Suprep. Wish me luck."

For Bowel Preparation "So the reason I gave 5 is because I'm currently taking the 1st L. Disgusting, since 7 pm, I haven't managed to finish the last 4 glasses as I would just want to throw up, and I really need this medicine to work as I have a colonoscopy tomorrow. Two months ago, I was hospitalized for diverticulitis, so now I really need to get past this examination. Until 9 pm, I managed to drink almost everything, but didn't have any movement. I thought the solution wouldn't work. Then at 10 pm, when it hit me! Still didn't finish going to the toilet, and like the others said, it's literally like peeing out of your bum. No unbearable cramps, though."

For Bowel Preparation "It has taken me 4 hours to drink one liter. I felt so nauseous drinking it and thought I’d throw up. Been having diarrhea throughout. Drank sips of water in between. Dreading repeating this in the morning. Surely they could create a tablet to do the same job? I don’t mind the toilet bit. The drink is vile. I cannot give a high score because, whilst it does its job, it is definitely very hard, at least for me, to tolerate while drinking due to nausea."

For Bowel Preparation "Most ingredients in this are the same as in Movicol, which I take regularly for IBS-C maintenance. I usually have flavorless Movicol and stomach its salty taste easily. I’m taking MoviPrep to prepare for a colonoscopy tomorrow and barely tolerate this horrible, overly artificially sweetened, artificially flavored vomit juice. Trying to get it out of the way as quickly as I can, I got the first liter down in about half an hour or so. Feeling extremely bloated and nauseous. Felt lightheaded shortly after finishing. I’ve done this once before, so I am prepared for the ‘evacuation’ and know what to expect there. I know it is effective. My main problem with it is that I honestly feel like it would be more tolerable without all the extra sweetener and flavor in it! I don’t understand how they think it’s better this way! The awful aftertaste is 100% from the sweetener attempting to mask the underlying saltiness."

It made my bowels move as it should have done, but because of the sickness, I had to cancel the appointment. My stomach now feels bloated. I am now going to have to use something else. I'm not happy at all."

For Bowel Preparation "I took my first liter of MoviPrep at around 8 pm tonight, and it took me almost two hours to get around 80% of it down. I keep gagging and feeling nauseous. The extremely salty taste hits you first, followed by an awful, sickly artificial lemon flavor. I’ve been chasing each sip with water to wash it away. First bowel movement came at around 10 pm, I’ve gone to the toilet twice since then and probably been sat there for about 10 minutes each time, so it’s not been horrendous. I just hope I can get some sleep. My colonoscopy is at 5 pm tomorrow, so I have to wake up at 6 am and take the second liter."
