For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I’m a female in my late 30’s that’s experienced severe constipation since pregnancy 6 years ago. This drug has caused nothing but dehydration, bloating, congestion and weight gain. I will not continue use of this drug."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "Those of you saying it caused stomach pain, bloating and didn't produce a BM should probably make sure that 1. You don't have a blockage and 2. Be tested for pelvic floor dysfunction or possible anal stenosis."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "My husband has chronic constipation since I met him, 33 years ago. Dr gave him trulance 4 days ago as a sample and it works but he is so tense and reacts instantly to any kind of stimulus...dropped a book big freak out, if a minor problem arises it's a huge deal. He slams car doors, complains about everything, is really on edge. This drug must be responsible. Not like this before. Anyone else?"

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "Works well. However, my prescription Part D coverage insurer doesn't cover it. $500.00/mo. is a bit steep. That's $6000.00/yr. just so you can have a bowel motion. The Pharmaceutical Companies are only interested in the dollars."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "I've been on Linzess for years now for my IBS-C. My insurance decided to deny me and MAKE me try Trulance. I'm on day 2 and I've never felt so sick from a medication in my life. The nausea, bloating and nasty belly pains are so bad today. It's to the point that I'm running to the bathroom and not knowing which end its coming out of. Dealing with this while working is not easy. Had explosive diarrhea and now I have the shakes and feel so weak. Btw nausea is at an all time high as well. My stool is now pale in color. I'm all set with this drug!! No thank you!"

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I was taking linzess for the better part of three years it did the job but had major AEs. I experienced bloating, weight gain and the biggest problem for me was stomach pains. My GI doc switched me over to trulance about 30 days ago and as of now not having any AEs. I hope it continues to work this well."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "I was diagnosed with IBD a year ago after a year of tests and changing to a new GI doc, I was placed on a low dose of Linzess 12/2018 but because I was in the bathroom for many hours, I only took it during the week or if I was home (I work at home so that helps). I would not take it on weekends or any day I was off or on vacation. I would take it at 5:15 am and knew by 7:15 am the medication would take affect. By the afternoon, I was able to go out. My doc changed me to Trulance this December hoping that this medication would have a different effect. It does not. I do the same routine with this medication. During the times that I did not take Linzess or do not take Trulance I take a 6-oz glass of prune juice and 2-3 medjool dates from Costco at night. Sometimes I warm the juice. This remedy usually helps me. I am hoping at some point to get off any medication."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "Trulance is working great so far. Doctor says to continue it for 90 days. My BM is better and consistent. I hope I don't have to take it for life but so far it works just great without evil side affects of Linziess."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation " I'm sick as a dog as I type this. I feel beat up & sore w/ terrible spasms after being on the commode ALL night. I feel really bad, because my Doctor really wanted this to work for me & fought so hard with my insurance company to get Trulance approved. He wanted me off of Lactulose, but I cannot go back to that due to the same symptoms I'm having now. IBS has ruled my life for so long & I eat so healthy & exercise, but I just cannot "go". I live a life of constant pain & spasms...."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "Nope. Nope, nope, nope. This stuff was a disaster for me. I have MCAS and hEDS, and over the past couple of years, my motility has slowed down a bit. I had been considering motility-enhancing medications for some time and discussed with my new GI doctor if anything like that would be helpful. We talked about Linzess (which I had tried years ago but it gave me diarrhea) and Motegrity (he felt it would be too harsh). He suggested Trulance as a good option since I'm sensitive to many medications. I took a half dose at 10 am. Exactly two hours later, I started experiencing the urgent need to use the bathroom (I had some rumbles and cramping beforehand). Within 20 minutes, the consistency changed from straining to liquid, accompanied by intense gut pain. It has now been three hours, and I'm still not finished. The stool is mostly liquid with a small amount of solid. It feels like I'm going through a colonoscopy cleanout. I'm grateful that we have a high-quality bidet seat in our toilet. I will never take another one of these pills again, not even at a half dose. It's pure and simple torture."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "So I’ve been taking Trulance for almost a year now. The lowest dose (3 mg) I believe. I went to a GI dr because I was having stomach pain. I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy done and everything looked good minus some gastritis and a really loopy colon. I ended up having robotic pyeloplasty due to an UPJ (Ureteropelvic junction obstruction). She put me on Trulance to help me have good BM’s. I take one pill 30 mins before breakfast. And then I have to stay by a toilet for at least an hour. Explosive, runny, and loud Hershey squirts. So I guess it does make me go...even though it was actually my kidney that was causing the stomach pain. Dr said my colon is loopy and I’ll have problems if I don’t take something. My real complaint is the weight gain. I would say probably 10 to 15 lbs in almost a year. Thinking about switching. Or seeing if I can get off the meds altogether. Hope this helps. God bless and good luck!!"

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "Second day on trulance, both days I took half a pill. Just to be sure I'd go, I had taken 2 sennas the night before. Today result was watery as if I'd taken mag. citrate. For me, this is pretty powerful. I think it'd be best if they would give a 1 mg tablet. No doubt I can stop the senna now. I wanted to because over time you need more and more of senna. (for me anyway). So now I'll skip the senna (was on 4-5 pills) and try half the pill. If that works I'll try 1/4 or 1/3. I can see why headaches is an issue sometimes...losing a lot of water. So drinking up!"

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I was so excited to take this I took one on my way home from Dr as I hadn't gone in 2 weeks! So went out to eat and hour after I took it ran to bathroom explosive diarrhea for 3-4 hours to the point I couldn’t make it to bathroom. So then next time decided to take at night and hour after my stomach gurgles loud for 2 hours then back to explosive diarrhea for 3-4 hours the kind you don’t even know it’s coming ! Wish it would work for me but would rather be constipated at this point !"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "Doctor gave me samples of this after Linzess made me constantly bloated (I looked pregnant) and gave me nothing but diarrhea. Trulance does the same to me when it comes to diarrhea and it seems a bit worse at times, like having to stay on the toilet for 2 hours. Sometimes it doesn't work as great and I feel horribly bloated on my left side until I wake up the next day. One good thing is that I'm not constantly bloated anymore but the diarrhea is a let down because I need to be able to leave the house. It's been 3 weeks on this medication and I'm not sure if I'm really liking it much, I'm not sure what the doctor will suggest next."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "I hadn't gone in 5 days when my insurance finally approved Trulance. My doctor had prescribed Linzess but the insurance company denied it. They wanted me to try Trulance first .(My longest was 8 days without a BM and I ended up in the ER for bleeding after straining.) I took the pill shortly after I picked it up from the pharmacy. Within 1 hour I had explosive diarrhea....yes I felt relief but not better. The side affects are too much...headaches (and yes I drink tons of water), lack of energy (I am usually bouncing off the walls), and the fast weight gain (4 lbs in two days)! I also experienced no bowel movement when I took the second, third and fourth dose. Horribly indigestion and just a flu like feeling. I hope one day I can find relief but for now I think I will go back to laxatives and stool softeners."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I've been constipated all my life - since I was an infant. I've gone up the chain of laxatives and Trulance is my most recent medication. I took it with my evening meal and it worked in an hour, which surprised me. I made six to eight trips to the bathroom before the excitement ended. I then noticed burning in my mouth and on down my esophagus to the end of my rectum. Then my muscles started to ache. It all reminded me of a mobile sweeper that went through my gut and even in the most remote crevices to remove stool. I was exhausted. The following day I thought I was fine and then suddenly I felt incredibly weak and unwell. Noticed slight swelling in my fingers - drank water. I want to give this a chance, but if I start swelling up or gaining weight I will have to look at another solution."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I love trulance! I’m surprised people are saying it made them gain weight, as it is not a listed side effect, and I actually managed to lose 2lbs while taking it. I’ve suffered from severe bloating and moderate constipation for almost two years. I was sick of the constant cycle of laxative on Friday night- flat stomach Saturday- constipation building Sunday through Friday- repeat. I was tired of planning my life around my laxative and my bloat. There were and are many times when I take a laxative and it would do nothing but make me bloat up to two sizes bigger then I am. Trulance has been gentle. No cramping, only mild bloat, and no water retention. My only negative comments revolve around the day long diarrhea, and the stomach distensiom that comes from going off it cold turkey. (I ran out and am waiting for my prescription)"

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "Doctor gave me samples of Trulance 3mg. to try. Took it for 6 days, feeling nervous because side effects include diarrhea. Nothing, I mean nothing, even with a little help (suppository & enema). Felt so bad that I had to take that vile citrus of magnesia to get some relief. It may work for you, but did nothing for me."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "Update on my review below. Been taking this for about a year now and it's a mixed bag of the sacrifice of time to take it vs. the relief. I have been taking 1/2 a pill now every day. I would say you get an hour before you need to go. Working from home I would say it's a good 4 trips to the toilet in those first 2 hours and if I need to actually do something and have a life during the day I will finish the process with a Fleet Liquid Glycerin suppository to clear out the rest and then I'm good for the rest of the day. My new marketplace plan has this costing me $25 for 90 pills and I almost fainted at the pharmacy because it was $150 for 30 pills on my old plan. Trulance basically liquifies whatever is in your intestines and gets it out with no straining. It's perfect for anyone who has pelvic floor issues and can't do the pushing to poop. If you have the time to deal with it, this drug is a life-changer."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "Trulance works great with me and I love the medication. A real lifesaver. Amtiza did not work and linzess gave me constant heart flutters. I typically have a bowel movement within 1-3 hours. Sometimes very wet stools, sometimes not. The first day I took the medication I had extreme pain with bowel movements over night. I only had a fraction of the pain the next day I took it, and now I am painless."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation "Trulance is a life saver for me! I use to suffer a lot because of my stomach, now I take Trulance every morning, go to the toilet about an hour later and for the rest of the day I'm free from thinking about it, I don't get anxiety anymore because of this condition."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I have had idiopathic chronic constipation for about 2 years now. Nothing over the counter ever worked for any more than a few days or so. Only few times over the past two years or so I've got to the point of feeling relief was when I was forced to take a colon cleanse such as GoLytely due to not going for 2 weeks at a time. My doctor has prescribed me Relistor, Linzess and now Trulance. Relistor and Linzess, just like every other medication I tried - lasted for a few days of small bowl movements then slowly stopped working at all. I took Trulance for the first time this morning - I have had normal - medium bowel movements since taking it over 12 hours ago. Mild cramps that come and go, mild dizziness as I get with all constipation meds, but overall can't complain at the end of my first day. Hoping this drug continues to work and clears me out as I constantly am backed up for weeks and I am sure I have about 30 more trips to the bathroom left before I am completely empty."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I take 3 mg at bedtime for my Gastroparesis I wake up each morning with a comfortable, normal BM. At week two I experienced some bloating but it subsided within a week. I have never had ANYTHING work this well. My choices have always been severe, painful constipation or highly medicated, cramp inducing diarrhea. Trulance has changed my life after years of too much time spent and thought spent on my bowel management."
