Pentazocine for Pain "I have been on this drug Talwin for 6 years for peripheral neuropathy. If I didn’t have this medication to control the flare-ups, I might not be here today. I was so extremely miserable, and this medication helps so much."

For Pain "I suffer from lifelong migraine headaches. This medicine seems to help keep me out of the ER. It is still early to tell, but I am hoping that it will be at least one answer to the puzzle of my near-daily pain."

Pentazocine for Pain "As with any narcotic, use with extreme caution and check before mixing with other prescriptions. Highly addictive for some people. Mother lost her job and ultimately her life as a result of quack doctors and ultimate addiction to this controlled substance. Wrecked my life."

For Pain "I don't think it works better than Vicodin or other narcotics, but it works better than Darvocet and Tylenol 3 with codeine. Lasts longer than Vicodin, but pain is still 3 to 4 out of 10. By the way, I have fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and sciatica."

Pentazocine for Pain "A torn kidney caused me to be in extreme pain, and I was hospitalized. After two days, I got tired of being injected with Demerol every four hours, so I asked a nurse if I could have pills instead. Out came the Talwin. It gave me relief from the pain, and I laughed a lot. After a day or two of laughing, things got scary. Not health-wise, but instead of laughing, I began to have such horrible nightmares that I was afraid to close my eyes. But either way, I was pain-free. I would recommend that people take Talwin if prescribed, but I would not recommend a torn kidney, prescribed or not. Get well soon."

For Pain "Horrific injection for severe migraine! Put me in the ER! Got an injection from the doctor because nothing was breaking the migraine! Drove 12 minutes home. Could not get out of the car. Neighbors called the doctor and took me to the ER. Dizziness, no pain relief, crushing headache, vision problems, weakness so bad the ER could not get sinus X-rays because I couldn’t hold my head up. Gave me a codeine injection which did not work and began projectile vomiting! (Later found to be allergic to codeine)! Admitted to the hospital and had a spinal tap. Was viral meningitis! Talwin is on my allergy list! Never again!"

Pentazocine for Pain "No side effects. Takes a little to ease the pain in the right leg and back. Do not eat at the same time you take the pill, it has a bitter taste."

For Pain "Each time I have a sickle cell crisis and am able to take pentazocine, I feel dizzy immediately and sleep for hours, but once I'm awake, I feel much more relaxed and the pain is gone."
