For Neutropenia Associated with Chemotherapy "After three Neulasta shots, three weeks apart, each one caused basically the same side effects, which was severe pain. After the second or third day, the pain started, and it was the worst pain I have ever experienced in my lifetime. In the bones and muscles. I took Advil that seemed to take the edge off but didn't take it away. Tried Tylenol, and it was basically the same, not much help. The severe pain lasted for about five days. Even seven or eight days later, I still had serious pain in the bones but not as bad as the first five days."

For Neutropenia Associated with Chemotherapy "My little brother has stage 4 pancreatic cancer that has spread to his liver. He was diagnosed in early September of this year. He got up early on day 2 after taking Neulasta and complained about severe pain from his stomach to the back of his neck and shoulders. We just heard about the Claritin medication application through this newsletter and others. I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for recommending the Claritin to help stop some of the pain. He just hates taking pain medications for the way it makes him feel. He is just so worn out all of the time. Will try and get back to you nice people for helping with the advice. He has a very rare cancer, so we will see. Again, thanks for the advice."

For Neutropenia Associated with Chemotherapy "I was doing great until day 3. I started feeling a few pains. By day 7, I was crying and headed to the ER. I felt like I was in labor. First it was my stomach. My back was the worst. I was in extreme pain."

For Neutropenia Associated with Chemotherapy "Do not take Neulasta. I was given the patch on the arm after the 5th treatment of chemotherapy, and it felt like I was tortured! My shins, toes, and fingers were literally throbbing with pain, it felt as if someone took a sledgehammer and swung it hard on my bones. I was crying for days. Zyrtec, Claritin, and pain pills did not work! I will never, ever take Neulasta, nor do I trust the drug companies! I had to use a cane to walk because, at times, I almost fell because of the pain. This is 9 days later, and I am still in excruciating pain. Shame on you, drug companies!"

For Neutropenia Associated with Chemotherapy "My 89.5-year-old mom got a shot of Neulasta on Tuesday. Her first and only one. She has been so sick; we are assuming from the shot. She has a red rash and severe left upper abdominal pain. Sharp pains and tenderness. And sharp pains when she breathes in. It has been 5 days since the shot, and the pain is still strong. She isn't having bone pain at all, like some others have. We are hoping she feels better any minute now and have delayed seeking medical attention as we hope this will pass. She sees her doctor again in 3 days and hope he acts like he cares."

For Neutropenia Associated with Chemotherapy "Claritin 3 days before infusion of chemo and 6 days after. No discomfort to speak of. Bad pain without Claritin. Blood counts still very low at nadir. WBC .9 and ANC .3."

For Neutropenia Associated with Chemotherapy "Bar none, the use of the Neulasta Onpro Patch after chemo (for Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma) produced the most excruciating pain I have ever experienced. I’m a tough old broad of 70, but after two attempts to comply with my oncologist’s recommendations, I begged him to just let me die instead. OxyContin did not touch the pain, as I felt every bone in my body was ready to explode. I could not sit, stand, lie, or walk without bending double in agony. And guess what! My WBC dropped from a normal of 4.6 to 2.9 and is still that way ten months later. My son is an oncologist and prescribes Neulasta as an absolute last resort for patients who demand it, thanks to clever advertising! A money-maker, yes; a helpful drug? I don't think so."
