For Migraine Prevention "Hell to the nooo. Hell to the no, no, no! Took it for two nights, besides the other common side effects-fatigue, brain fog, etc. I had a level 10 migraine the day after my second dose, one of the worst ones I have ever had. Wasn’t informed that headaches are a side effect. Don’t even bother trying unless you want to spend your weekend in bed. The pharmacist said I could discontinue after being on it for a few days and wondered why I am trying all these old drugs with huge side effect profiles. I regret taking this, the half-life is extremely long, and I hope it is out of my system sooner than later."

For Migraine Prevention "My journey to migraine treatment has been an absolute rollercoaster. I was taking nortriptyline for about a year, and it was working great. Lol, I got migraines less frequently, and when I did, they were less severe. Unfortunately, I had to switch to Topamax because of another medication. I was on that for about 6 months and came back to nortriptyline after I stopped the other medication. I've been back on for about 3 months, and it doesn't seem to work for me anymore. I've been getting more migraines again, and they're as severe as ever. In fact, I have a headache nearly every day. Just goes to show that finding the right medication is all trial and error!"

For Migraine Prevention "I switched from amitriptyline to give nortriptyline a try because amitriptyline was causing slight hair loss and the great reviews I read here. I can only give it a 4 out of 10. I gave it a fair shot, giving it 2 months and going up to 125-150 mg to try and kill the head pain and was still getting headaches, not every day but 2-3 times a week. I have had to switch back to amitriptyline, it was the only medication ever to give me 2 whole months with no headache, plus it gives me fantastic sleep. I will live with any hair loss if my head doesn't hurt when I wake up. I wanted to give nortriptyline a good try because of the reviews I read here, but for me, it was a waste of time."

For Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome "I’m taking nortriptyline 30 mg in addition to Pregabalin 150 mg per day. The Pregabalin wasn’t helpful enough on its own, even when on a dose of 450 mg per day. Nortriptyline has allowed me to bear more weight on my affected arm and increased my arm’s tolerance to being used (RSD in shoulder and arm). This has allowed me to be able to do more basic daily activities. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to do most chores, grocery shop, or even drive very far. I am very slowly adding on more activities. When I am on Pregabalin only, my progress remains stagnant and I have to rest most of the time to manage the pain. Side effects are annoying (morning tiredness, headache, brain fog, and dry mouth), but they’re better than the pain and lack of function. I’d rate it a 10 if it weren’t for the side effects."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome "This drug also saved my life. Severe neuropathy pain and IBS had both latched onto me. I also suffered from headaches, which Nortrip helps some. I cannot imagine living without it."
