Moxifloxacin "The first two days of taking Avelox were the worst for me; terrible headache and weakness. On the third day, the headache was not as severe. I ended up having an upset stomach for the entire ten days. However, I can breathe better, but I did look forward to taking that last pill."

Moxifloxacin "Was put on a 7-day course and was instantly dizzy, extreme dizziness that made it feel like the floor was moving when walking. It does work fast, though, but the dizziness and anxiety almost makes it unbearable."

"Was put on moxifloxacin for bronchitis and pneumonia. Only on day 3 of the medication, however, I feel extremely disoriented and dizzy, with nausea that comes and goes. Feel that my lungs have cleared up a little so far, so it is effective."

Moxifloxacin "I'm on my 11th day (out of 20 days) taking Avelox, and it works. Besides having a headache and shortness of breath, everything seems to be working great. After 10 days of taking it, my pneumonia was 75% better."

"I have been ill for three weeks. The doctor gave me a prescription for doxycycline, but there was no improvement. On a Sunday, I went to a walk-in clinic. They sent me straight to the hospital. After a plethora of wasted tests, they decided that I had bronchitis and sinusitis. This does not sound terribly severe, but I was so sick I didn't know how to cope anymore. Within 24 hours of the first dose, I am much better. No side effects are evident."

Moxifloxacin "I asked my doctor for Avelox for my pneumonia, but she told me that I cannot take it (I had it before with a doc that didn't warn me that I can't take it) because I have hypothyroidism and am on thyroxine. I wondered why, so I looked it up. It keeps your body from properly taking on the thyroxine. You end up with hair loss, itching, etc. (all the hypothyroid problems). I'm upset because it worked so well for me in the past for chest infection. So back to double doses of amoxicillin (makes me sick) three times per day."

Moxifloxacin "I am on Day 2 with Avelox for pneumonia. The worst side effect for me is the nausea. It hits hard and fast. I do feel a difference in my breathing, but my stomach is so riled up now that it is difficult to even move. So far, no other side effects."

Moxifloxacin "I felt much, much better after taking Avelox for 5 days. I did not notice any side effects with it. Three days after I stopped taking it, my symptoms came back, and I think my doctor should've had me take it for 10 days, not 5 like she did."

"I had pneumonia and was given a 5-day treatment of Zithromax, which didn't help, followed by a week of Biaxin, which again didn't help. After the second day of Avelox, I felt a twinge in the tendon of my thumb that I put down to an injury a couple of weeks prior-but I have since read could be a side effect. I have had zero appetite and been forcing myself to eat-no nausea, just no appetite, which is probably a good thing for me. Minor issues with concentration-trying to avoid driving, but since I don't feel well enough to go out yet (just took the 6th dose of 10), it is not really an issue. The symptoms of the pneumonia/bronchitis are improved when I wake up, but still present when I get into daily activities."

Moxifloxacin "This drug definitely saved my life! I began to see changes to my severe pneumonia condition after the third tablet with minimal side effects. Course completed: 10 tablets (one per day) Avelox (Moksifloksacine 400mg). Aftereffects: I continued to have a wheezing sound coming from my lungs for months afterward, even though I completed the course as instructed. Perhaps this was due to a secondary infection?"

Moxifloxacin "I just finished taking this after a 6-day period for pneumonia. It was all fine, except for the restless leg syndrome at night, but that I could handle with an iron pill. The last day I took it, I woke up in the middle of the night with severe itching. I took a shower, changed my bed sheets, used lotion and topical creams. I took 2 Benadryl, and nothing worked! The only good thing is my symptoms dissipated after a couple of days!"

"I was on two rounds of antibiotics (Augmentin), and my coughing hadn't gotten any better, it just got worse and worse until I ended up at the ER twice, having trouble breathing due to too much coughing. My doctor prescribed moxifloxacin as my third round of antibiotics. I finally stopped coughing on day three of taking this antibiotic. And yes, it really came with a bad side effect! I have never experienced side effects with any medicine until I took moxifloxacin. I took the pill in the afternoon, as told by the doctor, and I was feeling nauseous till night."

"I am on day nine of ten, taking Moxifloxacin HCL 400 mg per day for pneumonia. I still cough up white mucus with a slight rattle in my chest. I sleep using a CPAP and hope the last pill will clear out the rattle and mucus. The only side effect I had was constipation."

"If you take any Cipro drugs, it's probably going very dangerous! Just a warning to our lovely doctor community giving Levofloxacin out like candy and destroying people, and they have disabling effects - this affects patients for the rest of their lives!!"

"I started Avelox for pneumonia and felt substantially better within 24 hours. It can make you dizzy or nauseous, but just take it before bed and you wake up fine!"

Moxifloxacin "I felt good the next day after one pill. My chest felt better, but the side effects scare me. I get quick light-headed and dizzy the whole time on this drug. I could not sleep, I felt very restless. But the medicine cleared up my lungs."
