Morphine for Pain "I was injured in a coal mining accident that broke my back. The pain was horrific. The doctors I was seeing first put me on Lortab 5, and that did not do a thing. After several years, I was placed in the care of a physical therapist doctor, I can't remember the name. He prescribed OxyContin, and that made me so sick. He placed me on MS Contin, and that made me more sick than before, but then he put me on Kadian, the same thing as MS Contin, morphine sulfate, but it was better. It took care of the pain and stopped making me sick. It is a good medication."

Morphine for Chronic Pain "15 mg 3x a day ER. I've been trying to find the right medication to treat fibromyalgia pain. I've experienced nearly every side effect, worst being respiratory problems and weight gain. My attitude has been poor, and I'm completely miserable. It's increased my depression. For all the horrible side effects I've experienced, it doesn't seem worth it to stay on the medication for minor pain relief. The same has happened to me with Lyrica (Neurontin with a prettier name) and tramadol ER. Morphine is by far the worst. I gave it 2 weeks, but I can't take any more of the nausea and illness this medication has caused. I took a morning dose today and feel ill, as usual. I can't wait to flush this garbage from my system."

Morphine for Chronic Pain "Morphine ... great if you want to help with the pain and function. Doc have had me on every pain med there is. I was so doped up I didn't know what I was doing. I would drive, eat, talk to ppl and not remember. Oxy was like heroin (I guess, never did the real stuff). Fentanyl patches were the worst. Felt good the 1st day, the 2nd day you felt like crap, 3rd day you were sick going through a withdrawal. Had me on Neurontin and Soma, and Ambien... Finally, after 15 years I feel normal as I can, with this pain."

Morphine for Chronic Pain "I was given this right after surgery from a car accident; it made me really sick, and the side effects kept me crying the whole time I was on it. It did help with the pain a little, but not enough to counter the side effects!"

For Pain "I'm on Suboxone and Valium every day because I have a bad back, and I didn't want to be on my OxyContin, morphine patches, and a few medicines. I have been on Suboxone for about 3 years now. But the surgery that I'm having is not an option at this time. I have to have it, so I'm glad that I can take this and not feel sick or have any bad side effects. I'm on the 100 mg tablets for two weeks. My doctor said that he is going to up the dose after the surgery and put me on something else too. Then I go right back on my Suboxone plan. So if you are like me and you are on Suboxone, this is a good medicine to be on for pain if you are having surgery, that's why I'm giving it a 10 out of 10. I hope this was helpful in a way!"

For Chronic Pain "Lower back pain /L4/5 region/surgery performed 2014 - condition improved, but (as many would attest), never to be the same and pain-free. This is what I don't understand (after getting into a car accident, having severe lower back pain, and having been on many, if not all (at one time or the other), just about all (whether in the hospital and/or outside of it on pain management), how some people can be on, for example, taking 4 10mg OxyContin pills a day, aside from let's say 2 60mg (or higher), extended-release morphine tablets 12hr dosage), and *STILL* say that they barely get through and/or say if they miss a dose, they get sick, sick, sick, real sick. I and almost everyone else MUST and really know....contin.."

Morphine for Chronic Pain "This did not help my chronic pain at all. I had to use a dosage of 30-50 mg of morphine, and it still didn't touch my pain. I got severe constipation and was violently sick."

For Chronic Pain "I have had back problems for a very long time, female trouble (hysterectomy @ 31 yrs old) and fibromyalgia. I also have severe arthritis (runs in our family, I believe). As for rating this medicine, it helped tons with the pain, but the downside (very bad downside) was after taking it for so long. When you stop, you get so very sick. In my opinion, the sickness is worse than coming off of Percocet, Vicodin, etc. I don't know why that is, but that's just what I expect for myself. I know all about slowly cutting down your doses and all, and I surely didn't expect it to be rainbows and sunshine, but in my experience, it was worse than the DTs you get from the others I mentioned. Aside from that, it did help with the pain a great deal."
