"I have good reason to believe that Metoprolol gave me Vestibulo-Ocular Reflex Dysfunction. I was taking 12.5 mg twice per day for tachycardia and bounding pulse caused by ADHD medication. I had only taken four doses when the dizziness started on March 9th. Although dizziness is a common side effect of beta blockers, this dizziness was and still is one of the most debilitating things that I have ever experienced. It's persistent from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep. A constant sensation of swaying, as well as a false perception of objects in the environment moving, even when they are not. I discontinued it on the day the dizziness started, but I have had little to no improvement since then."

For High Blood Pressure "This is the only medication I take. It is for high blood pressure. Since taking it, I have swollen feet, dizziness, weakness. I really don't like how I feel. I will be talking to my doctor to see if I can stop this medication."

"I am a 69-year-old female. I started having my first bouts of SVT in my early 20s. (I didn't know at that time that I had SVT.) In my late 30s or early 40s, I discovered that I cannot tolerate caffeine - in any amount - and that's what was causing the episodes of SVT. So I just stopped consuming anything with caffeine in it. Was fine for years. Fast forward to my early 60s and being post-menopausal. Started experiencing mild anxiety and intermittent episodes of SVT for the last 5 to 7 years. In March of this year (2024), I wound up in the ER with SVT and a really high heart rate (185). Was prescribed Metoprolol Tartrate, 25 mg twice a day. But that dose made me so tired I couldn't function, and I had vertigo. I experimented with the dosing on my own. Currently, I take 12.5 mg PER DAY. I cut a 25 mg pill into quarters and take 1/4 pill twice a day. Works great. No more SVT."

For High Blood Pressure "I started on a different BP medicine, and one day I was yelling at my son, and my heart began racing. I thought I was having a heart attack. I got really dizzy, so my mom took me to the hospital. They ran tests, and I was fine. A while later, I began waking up with a racing heart, in the 140s. For a few days, I believe it was just stress, but my doc changed my meds to Metoprolol. I've been on it for 10 years. At one point, I lost 30 lbs, and it made my BP too low, so I was taken off it for a year, then got into a stressful situation, and my vitals backed up, so they put me back on. I never had any issues with this pill, it keeps my BP normal and sometimes low, and my heart rate is always low/normal. Some days it gets too low, in the low 60s, and I'll get up and jump around. Lol, I know that's not bad, but for me, I don't like it that low. When I first began the pill, I was tired, nauseous, and dizzy, but my body is used to it now. I never had a heart attack or heart problems, and I took many tests, even wore a monitor for a month."

For High Blood Pressure "Been on this for 5 months since the heart stent. Worst 5 months of my life. No energy, dizziness, depression, shortness of breath. This rubbish is absolutely awful."

For High Blood Pressure "My blood pressure and heart rate went up several times during the winter storm in Houston, so I went to the emergency room and got put on this awful medicine. I started off on long-acting, felt horrible, got put on fast-acting and still feel bad. I have just about every symptom they have on their page - weakness, fatigue, dizziness, itchy skin, off-balance, panic attacks, can't sleep, blood pressure drops low, pulse drops too low, joint pain, muscle aches, hair coming out, headaches, scalp hurts to even gently pull my hair, etc. I go to the doctor soon, I have to get off this stuff. I feel horrible, no energy, and I have a 6-month-old to look after."
