For Vertigo "I have recurring bouts of vertigo about 3-4 times a year. It seldom lasts more than 14-20 hours but is severe at times, spinning surroundings and a feeling of falling backwards. Usually, the drowsy feeling stays with me for 2 days. I have tried the natural remedies but find that Bonine or meclizine works the best for me. I have had a hard time finding it over the counter the past year."

Meclizine for Motion Sickness "Took Bonine for a 3-hour flight, and it worked great. I get motion sickness very easily, and Bonine stopped the nausea and dizziness. I did have some drowsiness, but I will take that over the dizziness and nausea any day."

Meclizine for Vertigo "Woke up with severe vertigo and vomiting. One Antivert tablet stopped the nausea, second pill 6 hours later stopped the vertigo. Only side effect was a little drowsiness. I did not drive, but I was able to do some housekeeping. Antivert was a blessing."

For Vertigo "I'm a little worried the drug seems to help me perfectly with my vertigo. But it makes me feel ridiculously like I'm drunk - I don't mean I'm drinking and mixing it with alcohol. I have a very severe reaction to the original Dramamine, which did this to me, which is ironic because that's why it's not prescribed to most people. But this stuff makes me feel drunk, and I haven't seen any similar experiences."

For Vertigo "I've never had vertigo until several days ago. My husband forced me to see a doctor after I had fallen a few times and got car sick out of the blue. The doctor told me that's what I had, no big deal, it will work itself out. Prescribed Zofran for the nausea and meclizine for the dizziness and lack of balance. He warned me to not take it until I got home because it may cause drowsiness. I took it early enough, thought I would have slept off the drowsy feeling but come to find out the side effects made me feel worse. I went to work anyway (I didn't drive), hoping it would wear off. I felt like I was high and drowsy, floating on a cloud, couldn't concentrate or focus on my job, was spacing out and daydreaming about nothing."

For Vertigo "I've had vertigo for years. I take meclizine but have had vertigo since this morning, and the meclizine is not working. I am only taking 12.5 mg. I used to take 25 but couldn't stay awake, so my doctor cut the dosage down to half. Miserable. Can't lay down, so have to sit up in the living chair tonight."

Meclizine for Motion Sickness "I have been on both a 5-day cruise and just returned from a 7-day cruise. Was introduced to Bonine on the first cruise by a friend, also on the cruise, who provided the Bonine for all 4 'cruisers'; not one got seasick. This last 7-day cruise, I took my 14-year-old daughter, who also did not get sick. It did make me a little drowsy, so I skipped it one morning we were in port for the day. I forgot to take it when I re-boarded the boat and was feeling woozy and remembered I hadn't taken it that morning. I popped the Bonine and immediately felt fine. Have not heard of any friends being successful with prescribed seasick meds, and not one complaint about taking the Bonine. Thank you, Bonine, for a fabulous 7 days!"

For Vertigo "I had vertigo for the first time one night, couldn't sleep on my sides at all. Did the maneuvers to try and fix it, and it did. But to my surprise, it got 100 times worse in the morning. I couldn't get out of bed all day, and when I tried to eat or use the bathroom, I'd just throw up. I got meclizine and tried it. Felt drowsy for most of the day, but it definitely helped. A month goes by, and I don't experience vertigo, but it happened again a few days ago. I had a few pills left of meclizine from last time, so I took it, and it worked wonders. I took it a few hours ago because it was getting bad again, and now I feel like a human again. No drowsiness or anything!"

For Motion Sickness "After years of suffering from motion sickness, I finally tried Bonine. I've been taking it for about 2 years now for car rides longer than an hour and plane rides. For me, it only works if I take it at least an hour before travel. If I take it when I'm already sick, it only works about 50% for me. This wonderful medicine has allowed me to travel. Before, I used to dread going any distance. I do get a little bit drowsy, but not to the point where I cannot function. I can still work, sightsee, etc. I sleep wonderfully when I'm on it!"

Meclizine for Motion Sickness "Works well, but after 24 hours, need to sleep for at least 8 hours. OBTW - I have a USCG (U.S. Coast Guard) license, and it specifically prohibits taking Bonine within 24 hours of operating a vessel for hire. Kinda stupid rule if you ask me. Seems like a seasick captain would not be a good idea!"

For Motion Sickness "I've taken Bonine for motion sickness, or if I wake up and my head feels a little off, I get the one that says less drowsy, and it works great, a lot better than regular Dramamine that knocked me out. I don't even think it makes me drowsy."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Amazing for nausea of any kind (motion sickness, migraine nausea, etc.). I have an egg allergy and get extremely nauseous and vomit if it accidentally gets in my food. Meclizine even helped with that! The chewable kind works quicker. Can find at most stores OTC. It does make me drowsy for up to 24 hrs, and you definitely don’t want to have any alcohol within that time frame."

For Vertigo "I rushed to the ER after experiencing vertigo very strongly. I was shaky and off balance and very scared. I just got up from my sofa and everything was a blur, a very scary feeling. I was given meclizine for vertigo, but it makes me so drowsy that most of the day I am laying down and sleepy. It did help me because I haven't felt dizzy, but I am very scared of it happening again. I can't feel alert, so tired and drowsy. I hope I get better."

For Vertigo "I've had Meniere's syndrome for decades, sometimes such that I have to crawl from dizziness. Nausea and dizziness go away in an hour after several tablets. However, I also have bipolar disorder, so I take Valproate or other anticonvulsants, and I'm 85 now. One Meclizine, added to my usual meds, makes me sleep day and night for over 48 hours, and my heart and/or lungs seem to slow down, so I dream I'm very tired, which I am, and I actually think someone old or weak could die from combinations of things that cause lots of drowsiness, so I recommend that a few of you readers be careful!"

Meclizine for Motion Sickness "I took Bonine on recommendation before going to Universal Studios, as some of the motion-simulated rides there make me feel nauseous. It’s been 2.5 days, and I am still so incredibly drowsy. I’ve been drinking lots of water each day to try and flush it out of my system, but it seems to be taking an incredibly long time to wear off completely. I won’t be taking this again. I’m going back to Dramamine."
