For Vertigo "I have to say, after using this medication, I felt so much better. It helped restore me back to some order after experiencing pressure on the head, ears, nausea, and dizziness! I was feeling so out of balance, and this pill did restore my normal balance."

Meclizine for Vertigo "I took one chewable tablet and have been drowsy and out of it for two days now. I've had severe nausea that comes in waves, dry mouth, a headache, and blurred vision this whole time. My heart rate is also very high. Overall, I feel like I'm in a daze, can't think straight, and just not very well overall. I will never take this medication again, and I hope it wears off soon."

For Vertigo "I could not lift my head off the pillow for two days. I was so nauseous and lightheaded. I finally went to the doctor, and he diagnosed me with BPPV and central vertigo. He gave me this medication, and the next day I felt way better. I have had to take one every morning since. But it didn't make me really tired, just a little sleepy. Hope this helps."

For Vertigo "I have been taking this as needed for a year now. I was experiencing bad vertigo and ended up having a brain tumor. Two surgeries and three hospitalizations later, I still experience some vertigo and vision issues. I take 25 mg as needed, and it helps tremendously! It does make you drowsy, but after using it for a while, that side effect does subside. I have had no other side effects from it. I find it very calming, and it also helps with mild nausea, which typically accompanies the vertigo."

For Vertigo "I used to have occasional bouts of severe vertigo. Started taking 12.5 mg of meclizine each night at bedtime and have had NO episodes in years. Vertigo is the sickest I have ever been. Disorientation, nausea, vomiting, crossed eyes, the whole gamut. I can't function without meclizine. It gets a 10 from me."

For Vertigo "Had vertigo due to crystals bouncing around in my inner ear. Dr. prescribed meclizine 25 mg every six hours until I was able to do 3 sessions of therapy to get my crystals back where they needed to be. 15 minutes after taking a tablet, I could walk and not fall. The spinning slowed down, and then the nausea would stop. I was so thankful my Dr. prescribed meclizine during this time. I don’t know how much more I could take of feeling like a spinning wheel."

For Vertigo "Just started Meclizine 25mg 3 days ago to treat vertigo condition. Works great, but it makes me so sleepy. I take it before bed now, and only once per day, as opposed to the recommended 6 to 8 hours. I've been dealing with nausea and dizziness almost daily for the past few years, this medication has provided instant relief, and I am now almost guaranteed to sleep through the night."

Meclizine for Motion Sickness "I didn't get motion sickness until after we got off our 7-day cruise. I have been fighting nausea and dizziness for a week now (the doctor said it is normal to suffer this after a cruise). After reading these reviews, I went and bought Bonine. I took one pill, and I feel great! Sure wish I had researched this a week ago!"

For Vertigo "I have been reading these reviews using Meclizine for dizziness. I have been on it for about a year (25 mg) but don't seem to see any results. The one thing that is missing is my problem. I have no problem walking, looking up or down, or any of that. My problem is I can only lay on my left side, my back for a short time, but the right side is out. I become so dizzy I feel sick to my stomach, even attempting to make me sick. As I said in the beginning, the Meclizine doesn't make a difference."

Meclizine for Motion Sickness "We are cruisers and have been on many since 1980. My doctor at the time told me to try Bonine, and it has gotten me through many a rough sea, and I'm always able to enjoy myself. I have forgotten to take it twice, and each time got motion sickness. So I always recommend it to family, friends, and other new cruisers."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I get horrible nausea when I have migraines, the symptom ends up being worse for me than the actual head pain. I usually just tough it out, but I remembered that my doctor had prescribed me meclizine when I first started having them, and it worked great back then. Within a few minutes of taking this, I could breathe again! I get really bad anxiety when it comes to vomiting, so my blood pressure went down too. Definitely going to be a regular in my medicine cabinet."

For Vertigo "I've never had vertigo until several days ago. My husband forced me to see a doctor after I had fallen a few times and got car sick out of the blue. The doctor told me that's what I had, no big deal, it will work itself out. Prescribed Zofran for the nausea and meclizine for the dizziness and lack of balance. He warned me to not take it until I got home because it may cause drowsiness. I took it early enough, thought I would have slept off the drowsy feeling but come to find out the side effects made me feel worse. I went to work anyway (I didn't drive), hoping it would wear off. I felt like I was high and drowsy, floating on a cloud, couldn't concentrate or focus on my job, was spacing out and daydreaming about nothing."

For Vertigo "I have had several extreme bouts of vertigo over the past couple of years, followed predictably by nausea and vomiting. After about 3 hours, I can get up, but for the next 24-36 hours, I just want to rest or sleep, as it takes all the starch out of me. This last time, I have been given a diagnosis of Meniere's disease. The last vertigo attack happened in a public place and resulted in a trip to the ER. They gave me Meclizine, and I think it was helpful in the aftermath as I felt like my balance was off for a couple of days. If I feel another attack coming (they are hard to foretell), I may try the 3x daily 25 mg to head it off. I asked my doctor if I should stay on it, but he said no...not sure why?"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was having morning sickness symptoms while going through menopause. I was sick for 3 months, having every test known to man to figure out why I was nauseated 24/7. Then, on a whim, my gastroenterologist gave me a prescription for Antivert/Meclizine. Wow, within 20 minutes, the nausea had subsided. You have to continue your dosage until the nausea has passed. Sort of builds up in your system. Stop too soon and the nausea comes right back. Now I only use it occasionally."

For Vertigo "This medicine was great for my gastroenteritis vertigo. The only bad thing I came across was having very strange to very disturbing dreams. At the time of my visit to the ER, I was under an extreme amount of stress, which could be the reason why I had these crazy dreams. But I remembered my dreams in full detail, unlike the dreams before taking this medication. The other side effect was sleeping all the time (which I'm sure I needed at the time due to stress). I did, in fact, have a good night's sleep, which I never do. I never sleep well due to chronic back pain. Also, I had to take nausea pills with this medication."

For Vertigo "I recently got a bad case of vertigo due to neglected calcification in my inner left ear. I've always had ear problems since I was a young child (getting swimmer's ear, trauma to my eardrum from pebbles being forced in there, etc.). So I got this prescription because of that. The first two days, I had a horrible time. I got severe RLS (restless leg syndrome) and could not sleep at all. I found out this was due to the antihistamine factors of the meclizine. I absolutely do not recommend taking meclizine after 3 p.m. if you are sensitive to antihistamines and are prone to RLS like I am. I started taking my 3 doses of 25 mg only in the morning/early afternoon, and it has worked perfectly. I'm kind of a small person, so any dose later in the day will keep me up all night. That being said, it works like a charm now. I highly recommend this medication because it really does wonders for my vertigo and also helps with the nausea that comes with it!"

For Motion Sickness "I have used meclizine on cruises and boat trips as I am susceptible to seasickness in moderately rough waters or worse. Although it makes me a little sleepy, it's not so bad that it affects what I do. It just makes it a little hard to get up in the morning-takes me a little longer to feel 'awake.' Otherwise, I usually feel very good with no nausea. I used it on a *very* rough boat ride once, and although I never threw up, I was nauseous for the last half of the trip. However, considering how sick others were, I felt it was still helping me quite a bit."

For Vertigo "I was having severe dizzy spells, which I thought were due to another medication or condition. My PCP did a thorough exam for motion sickness, and it sure did make me dizzy and queasy. He prescribed Meclizine, and the problems subsided after about 48 hours. I'll be flying to the west coast tomorrow, so I will see if I feel lightheaded on the flight."

Meclizine for Motion Sickness "I have to swallow two tablets an hour before I expect motion sickness to occur (getting on a plane, riding in a car, etc.), and it totally works. Doesn't work instantly for me, though. I also took this for nausea due to pregnancy, and it helped with that too. I highly recommend Bonine!"

For Motion Sickness "We cruise 2 or 3 times a year, and this medication has made it possible for me to enjoy it. The first 2 were several years apart because I got so sick on the first one. The second one, I was sick only one day, and the infirmary gave me some samples of meclizine. Within hours, I felt great, and now I start taking meclizine the day before we sail until the day after we get home. I have had very few issues, a little 'queasy' when in VERY rough seas, but never sick. For those few times, ginger ale has settled me right down. I highly recommend this medication for anyone suffering from motion sickness."

Meclizine for Motion Sickness "Gave one chewable to our son (age 18) on a boat in Hawaii due to big waves and some mild seasickness. Within a few minutes, he had a small seizure (he has no allergies and no history of seizures). He couldn’t control his face, arms, and hands, and his breathing was difficult. Everything was stiff and contracted. It passed within about 15 minutes but was very scary. The captain of our boat has seen it once before from the same medication. Caution that this is a rare side effect, most common in kids (though he’s 18). For him, it also didn’t fully take away the nausea, and he threw up as the seizure was ending."

For Motion Sickness "I have tried meclizine as a prophylactic for motion sickness while fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, with mixed results. The first time out was a complete failure, with severe nausea and vomiting accompanied by diarrhea. The second time was a little better, no diarrhea and limited vomiting, but quite acute nausea. Won't use it again for this purpose, probably won't go out on the Gulf anytime soon either. No noticeable side effects with either event."

For Vertigo "No warning, no reason, nausea, pressure headaches, tingly left arm, dizziness. They checked my heart and blood, and all of that was fine. I went to urgent care, and they diagnosed me with vertigo due to an inner ear effusion - I’m on meclizine 12.5 mg 3 x a day, but I can’t even manage that. The medication makes me feel like a zombie. The UC doc also has me on Zyrtec and Flonase, plus anti-nausea - I’m only 6 days into this vertigo, and I’m already over it. Please tell me how to make it stop."

For Motion Sickness "I took a couple of Meclizine hydrochloride a good few hours before a boat trip in Gran Canaria, however, after no less than 30 minutes on the trip, I came over feeling really rough. To cut the story short, I faced a miserable 3 hours on the boat and threw up countless times. Worst antiemetic I've ever used, and certainly won't use it again."

For Vertigo "I asked my doctor for a medicine to stop this horrible roller coaster. In the last 2 and a half months, I have been on an emotional roller coaster. Hospitalized in Jan. for a nervous breakdown, to put it mildly. Too much to write and too depressing to reiterate. I had jumped to different depression medications, and it resulted in severe vertigo. Nonstop, it was debilitating, and not many knew what I was experiencing. I am shocked how this medication has dwindled that roller coaster drop with nausea. Still off, but much improvement as I thought I would go mad with the non-stop sensation. I look forward to the day with feeling somewhat 'normal' as this has been the most awful journey. Doubters, give this medicine a try."
