For Vertigo "Meclizine made me feel more off balance. Was prescribed this for dizziness. It makes me feel like I'm going to fall over. Will have to cut the dose in half and see how that works. I have BPPV, so I'm hoping physical therapy helps again."

For Vertigo "Had a bad neck adjustment and was taken to the hospital to make sure it wasn't from a stroke that I got very dizzy. They said it was not and gave me this for the vertigo. I took half (12.5 mg) the next morning when intense spinning started, and it seemed to help, and then 4 hours later spinning again :( so I took a whole 25 mg pill, and though it did make the spinning stop, I've been out of it ever since. I feel tired, off balance, just 'off' and strange in general and haven't gotten out of bed all weekend. I'm going to try a more natural remedy and exercises next."

For Vertigo "I'm a little worried the drug seems to help me perfectly with my vertigo. But it makes me feel ridiculously like I'm drunk - I don't mean I'm drinking and mixing it with alcohol. I have a very severe reaction to the original Dramamine, which did this to me, which is ironic because that's why it's not prescribed to most people. But this stuff makes me feel drunk, and I haven't seen any similar experiences."

For Vertigo "I took 5 doses of this medication, it made me sleepy, which made it difficult to function. I was unable to drive myself and concentrate at work. I also developed a rash on my neck. I was instructed by the pharmacist to stop taking the medication, take a Benadryl, and apply an over-the-counter cortisone on the rash. The rash went away within two days, but I still have vertigo. I am being told that there is no other medication that can be prescribed."

Meclizine for Vertigo "Just started it today and hopefully, it’s going to reduce my vertigo. I'm 83 years old and have been feeling dizzy and off balance for a few days. I called my doctor and was told to take Dramamine. Hopefully, I’ll know tomorrow if it’s working."

For Vertigo "I was having severe dizzy spells, which I thought were due to another medication or condition. My PCP did a thorough exam for motion sickness, and it sure did make me dizzy and queasy. He prescribed Meclizine, and the problems subsided after about 48 hours. I'll be flying to the west coast tomorrow, so I will see if I feel lightheaded on the flight."

For Vertigo "No warning, no reason, nausea, pressure headaches, tingly left arm, dizziness. They checked my heart and blood, and all of that was fine. I went to urgent care, and they diagnosed me with vertigo due to an inner ear effusion - I’m on meclizine 12.5 mg 3 x a day, but I can’t even manage that. The medication makes me feel like a zombie. The UC doc also has me on Zyrtec and Flonase, plus anti-nausea - I’m only 6 days into this vertigo, and I’m already over it. Please tell me how to make it stop."

For Vertigo "Horrible. I had a very loud and rude nurse who got mad at me for asking for a half dose (12.5 mg instead of 25 mg) because I don't do well with antihistamines, they make me feel horrible. I was reassured this one wouldn't. I'm glad I only took half. And while they left me there for over an hour waiting for the dose, they didn't keep me even 3 seconds to check any reactions. I even got a little placebo effect, like 'did it help? It might have...' It didn't. My dizziness stayed the same, but about exactly an hour after the moment I took it, my heart started pounding like a sledgehammer, I was exhausted and started dreaming. This then shifted into hallucinations while I was awake off and on, that I couldn't tell weren't reality. I didn't pee for over 12 hours because I couldn't get up and still didn't even really need to when I went, which means it extremely dehydrated me. I've slept for almost 24 hours straight and going back now. Makes me can't wait for how bad I felt before because it wasn't this."

For Vertigo "I've had Meniere's syndrome for decades, sometimes such that I have to crawl from dizziness. Nausea and dizziness go away in an hour after several tablets. However, I also have bipolar disorder, so I take Valproate or other anticonvulsants, and I'm 85 now. One Meclizine, added to my usual meds, makes me sleep day and night for over 48 hours, and my heart and/or lungs seem to slow down, so I dream I'm very tired, which I am, and I actually think someone old or weak could die from combinations of things that cause lots of drowsiness, so I recommend that a few of you readers be careful!"

For Vertigo "I couldn’t even stand/walk without feeling dizzy. Took this, and about an hour later, I didn’t feel dizzy anymore! Yay! But it DID make me feel drunk. Felt drunk with the vertigo, but felt MORE drunk with the pills! But it made the dizziness go away, so I’m happy."
