Meclizine for Nausea/Vomiting "I have used Antivert for seasickness, and it may be the only thing I've used that really works. The over-the-counter medications for car sickness did not work for me. Also, the medicated pad you wear behind the ear (scopolamine, I think) literally puts me out for hours -- maybe you could cut a small piece. Antivert also makes me sleepy, but less than the others. My friend has vertigo and uses it for that with success. It has to be prescribed, however."

For Vertigo "Three weeks ago, I went to the hospital with lightheadedness, dizziness, my heart was beating fast, the left side of my body was numb, I was not able to get out of bed due to no control of my legs, and my vision was blurry and out of focus. I had a CAT scan, an MRI, blood work, and EKG, and I was there for a week. The final outcome was that in my MRI, they saw something on the left side of my face, but that my right side was cleared. I had no blockage or any kind of clots. The doctor told my husband and me that he thinks that I had a mild stroke and the outcome of it is vertigo. He prescribed me meclizine 25 mg 3x a day. My symptoms are still there, my face still gets numb, blurry vision, my hands shake a lot, I get dizziness, and some mornings I have not been able to get out of bed due to not being able to control my motions. What I can say is taking this medicine helps me out. I am not going to tell you that it fixes it, but it eases and makes it easier for me to cope with vertigo and my daily routine."

For Vertigo "I was diagnosed today with vertigo. I woke up yesterday morning, which was 8/11/2016. I was so dizzy the rest of the day. If I looked down or leaned my head back, I would get dizzy. Today was worse, so I went to the ER. I was given meclizine. I only took 2 so far, seems like it works for a few hours, but I want to take one now before bed. Any suggestions?"

Meclizine for Vertigo "I've never taken Bonine, but I know it's the generic of Dramamine, which is the generic for meclizine that I do take. I had my first attack of vertigo when I was 27. Now I'm thirty, and it has come again all of a sudden. The first time I took meclizine, it worked like a charm, but now that I'm starting on it again, I haven't felt anything but drowsy. I hope it works like it did 3 years ago, but this time I'm going to stay on it much longer than I did the last time."

For Vertigo "I have inner ear damage because of shingles, and the medicine has always helped when vertigo has suddenly been a problem. A little drowsiness, but even that disappears within twenty minutes. VERY effective."

For Vertigo "I have had 2 cases of vertigo, and both times, I ended up in the ER. I was given Meclizine, and it takes about an hour to work, meanwhile, I am unable to stand up and vomiting at the same time. I had one case of vertigo at work at 2 a.m. and had to be dropped off at the ER. Meclizine does work, but it's too slow to take effect. I can't lose many more nights at work, or I'll be fired. I need something that works faster."

For Vertigo "I have been reading these reviews using Meclizine for dizziness. I have been on it for about a year (25 mg) but don't seem to see any results. The one thing that is missing is my problem. I have no problem walking, looking up or down, or any of that. My problem is I can only lay on my left side, my back for a short time, but the right side is out. I become so dizzy I feel sick to my stomach, even attempting to make me sick. As I said in the beginning, the Meclizine doesn't make a difference."

Meclizine for Motion Sickness "We are cruisers and have been on many since 1980. My doctor at the time told me to try Bonine, and it has gotten me through many a rough sea, and I'm always able to enjoy myself. I have forgotten to take it twice, and each time got motion sickness. So I always recommend it to family, friends, and other new cruisers."

For Vertigo "My doctor prescribed Meclizine for my balance and dizziness issues. I've been taking OTC Dramamine Less Drowsy 1/4 pill at night, and it works GREAT. Now I tried the RX 1/2 pill and was out of it all day after taking it the night before. I think I will stick to the OTC version. Seems to work better for me."

Meclizine for Motion Sickness "My youngest son gets carsick after being in the car for 30 minutes. I discovered these tablets and give him half of a pill an hour before we leave as directed, and he's golden. He does not experience drowsiness and acts like his normal self. Trips have become manageable now and I don't cringe with the puke bucket."

For Vertigo "Just started taking meclizine for an episode of vertigo I had yesterday. Still feeling a little off balance and dizzy, but at least the room isn't spinning and I don't have the falling sensation. Went to the doctor today to run some tests, but since I started the Bonine yesterday, the tests were inconclusive, since they couldn't trigger the vertigo. Looks like this medicine works. I am sleepy though, but am still having trouble sleeping, guess it's just being anxious that it might happen again. Also, reading/typing triggers more dizziness. Doctor said to continue on the meclizine for 2 weeks and it should take care of itself. If not, to return to him for further testing."

Meclizine for Motion Sickness "I wanted to take a helicopter ride while on a trip to Kauai. I have a horrible history of motion sickness. Someone suggested Bonine, so I tried that. I not only made it through the entire 90-minute ride, but I actually enjoyed it and didn't once have the horrible motion sick feeling."

Meclizine for Motion Sickness "Bonine is a game changer! My husband and I have a 28 ft boat, which my husband loves offshore fishing! But I get terrible seasickness! Even if it's less than a foot! Tried Dramamine, and it never worked. I would be green in less than an hour! But then I discovered Bonine. 'God sent!' took 1 pill! The chewable lasted all day fishing! Not to mention it was rough seas about 2 1/2 to 3 feet! It was amazing! So I'm sold, definitely a Bonine fan. It was a game changer for me! This stuff truly works."

Meclizine for Motion Sickness "I took Bonine on recommendation before going to Universal Studios, as some of the motion-simulated rides there make me feel nauseous. It’s been 2.5 days, and I am still so incredibly drowsy. I’ve been drinking lots of water each day to try and flush it out of my system, but it seems to be taking an incredibly long time to wear off completely. I won’t be taking this again. I’m going back to Dramamine."

Meclizine for Nausea/Vomiting "A friend of mine told me to take Bonine because I have horrible morning sickness. I'm pregnant with my third child, and it's an awful thing to have to chase after two kids with morning sickness! It worked wonders for me. I would tell everyone to at least try it!"

For Vertigo "I fly often, but this last trip, I woke up the next day with dizziness anytime I lowered my head. Difficult since I work on the computer all day and meet with clients, so I am up and down all day. My doctor prescribed it three times a day, and that is fine as I am on the fifth day and still get dizzy. I wake up a lot at night feeling like I have to relieve my kidneys. This is more often than before I took meclizine HCL. I do have a dry mouth, but no real side effects."

For Vertigo "I couldn’t even stand/walk without feeling dizzy. Took this, and about an hour later, I didn’t feel dizzy anymore! Yay! But it DID make me feel drunk. Felt drunk with the vertigo, but felt MORE drunk with the pills! But it made the dizziness go away, so I’m happy."

For Vertigo "I came down with vertigo a week ago. I am taking meclizine. Have been for days now. I have been checked out by an ear, nose, and throat doctor. They do not know what is wrong with me. But it doesn't feel like the dizziness is getting any better."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I get horrible nausea when I have migraines, the symptom ends up being worse for me than the actual head pain. I usually just tough it out, but I remembered that my doctor had prescribed me meclizine when I first started having them, and it worked great back then. Within a few minutes of taking this, I could breathe again! I get really bad anxiety when it comes to vomiting, so my blood pressure went down too. Definitely going to be a regular in my medicine cabinet."

For Vertigo "I acquired light-induced vertigo after visiting a Christmas shop that contained a whole room filled with brightly lit trees. I am extremely dizzy and nauseous if I do not take meclizine three times a day. I have absolutely no side effects, but I am concerned about the long-term effects from the meclizine."

For Motion Sickness "I have a very poor vestibular system, which causes severe vertigo, dizziness, and nausea when traveling. I usually use Gravol (natural product, 550 mg) and my travel bracelets for short flights (less than 2 hours). Unfortunately, I was sick throughout the plane ride due to bad weather, and it seemed to set the tone prior to my first cruise. The doctor gave me meclizine, which really helped. I still had some turbulence in the stomach, so I purchased 'Motion Ease' oils (a drop behind each ear) when the seas were really rough! No motion sickness symptoms at all during the 7-day cruise! The only side effect (not sure if from the cruise or the pills?) was that it took me four days to fully regain my balance (tipping on the right was kinda weird)."

For Vertigo "Meclizine made me feel more off balance. Was prescribed this for dizziness. It makes me feel like I'm going to fall over. Will have to cut the dose in half and see how that works. I have BPPV, so I'm hoping physical therapy helps again."

For Vertigo "They also gave me 5 mg Valium for nighttime, so I don't feel like I am falling out of bed. The two together seem to really do the trick, but they had only written me a 7-day supply, so on the 12th day, vertigo came back. This time, the doctor gave me the meclizine and no Valium. Hope it works well alone. I get so scared when I have an episode."

For Vertigo "I have recurring bouts of vertigo about 3-4 times a year. It seldom lasts more than 14-20 hours but is severe at times, spinning surroundings and a feeling of falling backwards. Usually, the drowsy feeling stays with me for 2 days. I have tried the natural remedies but find that Bonine or meclizine works the best for me. I have had a hard time finding it over the counter the past year."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Was prescribed meclizine for nausea/dizziness that started due to a viral infection. It definitely helped in my experience completely stop any of the symptoms I had, the only thing worth noting in my experience is that it definitely made me wanna lay down and sleep."
