Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "First of all, it's not cheap, with a coupon, I got it for $88.00. The thing I do like about Suprep is that it is in 2 doses rather than having to drink a gallon of the solution throughout the day. But the taste is awful, with a sweet cherry and heavy saltwater taste. Gulping if you can, otherwise use a straw and down some gulps of ice-cold water after each swallow that seemed to help me. Works fast. Now I'm having to do the same procedure at 4:30 a.m. I'm only wondering now whether I can down the second bottle!"

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "Just finished my first dose. I am scheduled for the first dose at 4 p.m. and second at 8 p.m. for a 7:15 a.m. colonoscopy the next day. After taking the first dose, it took only 15 minutes before it kicked in. Although the salty taste was my main objection, it works quite effectively."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "The reviews listed on the top of this site scared me. There are a lot of reviews on vomiting, bad taste, and bowel explosions. The taste is very bad. I drank it through a straw and cleansed my palate with a small sip of water after each drink. It helped. The medicine worked very well. I read the instructions and followed them to the letter, with the exception of sipping water to cleanse my palate. It would be much better if the taste was not so gross."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "Currently sitting with my head in the toilet after not even half of the first drink. I started it 40 mins ago, and I've been extremely nauseous to the point where I can’t move or I’ll get sick. And I have chills and a GIANT headache. Probably going to have to cancel. These side effects are MISERABLE, along with the terrible, terrible taste."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "After a full day of liquid diet, drank the first bottle at 6 pm. I was able to get it down with a straw, no problem. Drank a cup of chicken broth 15 minutes later to get rid of the aftertaste. An hour later, threw up everything and had to cancel the procedure after I called the doctor. Whatever is left in my system did empty my bowels, though."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "Wish I found this site before my use of Suprep prep because I learned something I wish I had seen prior to using, and that is the use of creams and wipes to help with the butt pain I experienced because of the frequency of wiping my butt. Taking this was not that bad, yes, it’s a little “salty” tasting, but I tolerated it just fine following the instructions with just using water to dilute and follow up with water. It took about 30 minutes to kick in, and I had about 2 plus hours of thrown time, but no urgent runs to the bathroom. Good luck to you if you need to use this, but I suggest soft toilet paper, wipes, and creams in hand to help with the pain from wiping."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "I'm writing this 2 hrs after round 2. The taste is disgusting, unless you enjoy salty, fruity nastiness. I've had chills so bad that one might think I was having a seizure. I've also had cramps so bad that would have, on a normal day, sent me to the ER. I have been dealing with abdominal pain for 4 months, just really hoping to find the cause. Will opt for the Colyte for the next one, as that is what I had 5 years ago without the horrible side effects. Good luck to those who are reading this."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "This kit was given to me free by my doctor's office as they had samples. In the past, it was difficult to drink the high-volume PEG formula, so they thought this would be easier since it was a lower volume of the actual solution. Not! It tastes like the most concentrated cold medicine I have ever had to take, but to top it off, you have to drink 16 oz of it. With the nose plugged, it is easier, but the aftertaste is what makes this difficult. Here is what I tried: 1. Drinking and gargling large amounts of water after each drink. This helps dilute the aftertaste. 2. Hot apple cider. This did little to mask the taste and ended up making it worse. 3. Vegetable broth. This made the salty solution stand out to me. It helped better than the apple cider, though. 4. Diet Pepsi. This artificial sweetness only doubled the artificial sweetness/cough syrup taste of the solution? Not sure about the color, though? 5. Regular Cherry Pepsi. Surprisingly, taking small sips of this after each drink of the solution masked the taste the best."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "This was my first time using Suprep, and it will be my LAST! After paying $109 with insurance, I read all the warnings and took it as directed. The taste was terrible, even though I chilled it. Drank water as directed. Did not work as projected to... also had an episode of projectile vomiting. Doctor said prep was not good but could do a partial exam and found a large polyp. Now I need another colonoscopy because of lousy prep. I am going back to pills. Never had a poor prep before. Don’t waste your money or taste buds on this rip-off!"

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "Read reviews on this site before I took the plunge. Cold is good; so is a slice of lemon to suck on. I do not recommend the straw, as liquid is carried to the back of the tongue where all you can taste is foul. If you chug it, at least there is a slight bit of sweetish aftertaste. It worked fine, but I purposely did not eat much bulk for two days before the procedure. Nothing tasted good for about 24 hours afterward. The cranberry juice and ginger ale they gave me after the procedure reminded me too much of the prep. You might be better off sticking to water in recovery."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "Tomorrow is my 3rd colonoscopy. The first 2 times, my doctor complained that I was not cleaned out enough. I was determined to get it done this time. The procedure is scheduled for Tuesday (tomorrow). I began a clear liquid regimen on Saturday. On Sunday, I did the Miralax/Gatorade prep. The Miralax is tasteless in the Gatorade, so nasty taste was not a problem, but I don't think I'll ever be able to drink Gatorade again. Drinking 8 oz. every 15 min. was difficult, but it really worked. I went to the bathroom beginning 1 hour after I drank and went from 4 pm to 2 am. I called to see if I had to do the Suprep today. Yes. Ugh. This stuff is so nasty. I nearly threw it up, and I have 1 more session of it to go. My gut better be sparkling."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "Just got done with the procedure. Suprep was not too bad. Took the first dose at 6 pm along with an additional 32 oz of water and finished drinking it by 6:45. I started going to the bathroom about 6:45 and kept going until 1 am. Use wet wipes and cream to help. I had wipes but ran out. Taste wasn't terrible, but the last few sips were hard to get down. I alternated between the mixture and the 32 oz of water to get it down. I do think keeping it cool helps. I didn't for the first round but put the second bottle in the fridge. I had put my 32 oz in the fridge for the first round and the cool water helped. My next round was at 3:30 am. It was harder to get down but still managed. As mentioned, I had put this one in the fridge to get cold along with the 32 oz of water. Finished it all by 4 am. Didn't really go until about 5:30 and then kept going, sometimes every five minutes. Even had a couple of times at the doctor's office I had to go. The procedure went well. The doctor said the prep was great. All in all, it was worth it."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "Definitely, this medicine works. Awful taste. Took 30 minutes to get down each dose. Better with cold water. Even better if water is so cold it is almost frozen. Took a sip of medicine and a sip of water or something else clear to get it down - I diluted the medicine as instructed. Held my nose to get down the last of it. The medicine worked in the first hour of it going down. Kept working for the next 1-2 hours, but maximum output in the first hour. Use of wipes and butt ointment like A&D is a must by the second medicine dose."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "This was my first time using this prep kit. I had to drink it at 4 pm. The taste is bad, my last gulp caused me to almost vomit. The 32 oz of water was easy. Got a sharp pain in my side and stomach, then I felt like a water line had broken. The 2nd bottle was at 8 pm. I used lemon to taste after each gulp, and it worked. Please use baby wipes and Vaseline because it will burn and hurt. After I was done, I just soaked in a hot tub. Overall, compared to the others, I rate it the best. I just don't get the yellow look at the end, how come it is yellow? You're clean - just yellow liquid. Good luck."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "I started to drink the first batch as directed by my doctor at 6 P.M. Unfortunately, I had not found this site yet. The taste is awful, and it took me forty-five minutes to sip it down. The impact was immediate, and I spent the next two hours in the bathroom. My next batch was at 7:00 this morning. I made sure to pinch my nose, which helped me down the solution in about fifteen minutes. The prep isn't great, but it is effective. I just hope it is a long time before I have to go through it again. Next time, I will use orange wedged between sips to see if that helps with the taste."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "On part two of my prep. The taste of the med is bitter to me. No amount of flavorings or other adulterations would change that. I suppose when you are drinking chemicals, you have to expect a nasty taste. Lots of rumbles in the tummy. It sure worked well! Many bathroom trips, so do not stray far from one. Now I hope this second part works just as well and that I am able to get to the test site before needing the bathroom again! So many are saying how much better it is to not have to drink a gallon of fluid. Funny, with the two 16 oz glasses of water after the 16 oz glass of the prep, you are only drinking 32 ounces less with Suprep."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "So ever since I went through chemo and radiation, I have had no bowel movements without laxatives. I technically was supposed to save this prescription for a future colonoscopy, but I was in too much pain, so tonight I decided to give it a go. It tastes horrible, and I had to stop myself from vomiting. But wowza, does it work. Took about an hour and a half. Actually, I was in the shower and had to literally jump out. I could already feel my stomach getting smaller! Great stuff!"

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "I took the first dose at 6 pm last night, and the taste was the nastiest stuff I ever had. I did not read these reviews first, so I did not know about keeping it cold or using a straw. I did take a sip of water between every few gulps of the poison-tasting liquid. It barely worked on the first dose. I waited a few hours and only went one time to the bathroom. Today I took the second dose and was gagging as much as yesterday. This time I went to the bathroom sooner and a few more times. BUT I do not think I am totally cleaned out. I had my first colonoscopy about 9 years ago and took a million pills with no taste, and it worked perfectly. I hope I will be cleaned out enough to have my procedure done."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "It tastes so bad. I don't know how they got the taste and smell of Robitussin (spelling?) cough syrup, but I couldn't finish the second bottle. I've hated the smell and flavor since I was a kid, so I couldn't choke it down twice. However, it works really, really well."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "After a $50.00 copay, I brought this stuff home and started the prep today. There are two doses, spaced 5 hours apart. This solution is pretty nasty, but you can get it down. I find it best to have it chilled before taking it. I also recommend not sipping it. The aftertaste is very unpleasant. As soon as I finished, I ate a banana Popsicle. That definitely helps. Immediately after drinking the solution, you have to drink two 16-ounce glasses of water. That is a chore. It took over two hours for the first dose to kick in. But, once the cleansing started, it went smoothly. The second dose really does not taste any worse than the first, but it is not any easier to get down. It did not take as long for the Suprep to work. Again, the cleansing part was very easy. There is nothing pleasant about the preparation, but it is manageable."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "I took the Suprep as directed in two doses the evening before my colonoscopy. Very nasty taste, it took me close to an hour to finish. I felt like throwing up, but lucky for me I didn't. Well, I waited and waited to no avail. Had a massive headache, so bad! Bloating and the noises in my intestines were so bad even my dog got scared and started to bark. I still had not gone to the bathroom yet and took the other half at 2:00 am in the morning. By this time, I was feeling so bad from lack of sleep and the headache. I lay up in bed not meaning to fall asleep, and when I woke, I was covered in the brown stuff. I was 8 hours in before this stuff worked. My colonoscopy had to be canceled due to not being clear in time. It just didn't work for me."

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "This is my 3rd colonoscopy and my first time with the split-dose Suprep. The medicine tastes terrible - I could barely get it down using a straw and putting lemon wedges on my tongue after. That said, it did do a great job of getting things cleaned out pretty quickly. Not super excited to repeat this in the morning. That said, no prep is great, and I think this may have been just a little more tolerable since the amount of nastiness you have to drink with Suprep is less than with GoLytely. It was very easy to drink the 32 oz of just plain water after the gross Suprep."

For Bowel Preparation "First colonoscopy at 60. Took the liquid non-carbonated Suprep as prescribed at 6 pm after fasting, instead of clear liquid diet since 10 am. 1st dose tasted bad but was able to drink it quickly. A torrent of stool followed within 2 hours. 3 bowel movements, then sleep. Awoke at 5 am, another bowel movement. The second dose, 8 am, was much harder to swallow. Tasted worse despite being the same product. Struggled to get it down. Drank water in between instead of chugging the 16 oz container of Suprep/water. Finished in 45 minutes, drank more water, sat on the toilet for 20 minutes at a time x 3. Still gurgling when I walked 2.6 miles to colonoscopy where I had 2 more bowel movements, first medium yellow and the 2nd light yellow. Actual procedure was for 3:30 pm. I recommend starting a little earlier (6 hours) with the clear liquid diet and not fasting without previous experience. Just pat if using toilet paper. A spray (toto) toilet must be better. Wash your butt before going to the procedure."

For Bowel Preparation "Started this at 4:00 pm following all instructions. Helpful hint: wipe gently with baby wipes at the onset and use Vaseline. The taste was horrible, but you can get over it with the fresh water afterward. Be near the toilet for at least four hours. Keep a heavy blanket nearby, I was freezing. At 3:00 am, had to do it all again. The dog thought I was getting up to play (LOL). I literally gagged at the first sip, but knew I had to drink it and get this done. I managed to get it down. The second time around, not so bad, maybe three hours. By the time I got to the hospital for the procedure, I was exhausted! All went well, and I was so thankful that day that I didn't have to do it for ten more years!!!"

Magnesium sulfate / potassium sulfate / sodium sulfate for Bowel Preparation "It gets a 10 for effectiveness, a 1 for taste, and a 5 (neutral) for side effects. My mom did Dulcolax and Miralax (both OTC) for her last colonoscopy, and that's probably what I'll do next time if nothing better comes available. I WILL NEVER USE SUPREP AGAIN. I was able to get the first bottle down with the help of ginger ale (I divided the bottle into 2 glasses with water and drank the ginger ale separately). It took an hour to do this. The SuPrep was very cold, and I used a straw, but it did not help much. The aftertaste is horrific and made me want to puke. I did get chills; it started working 20 minutes after I finished. Got down 1/2 a bottle the next day. Luckily, my Dr. gave me it for free because I couldn't afford it. THE KEY IS YOUR DIET."
