That said, I decided to try Belviq along with nutritional and exercise changes to try to lose weight. Weighing in at 270/5'5'/48 BMI, I found Belviq to be an amazing supplement. It controls appetite so that on a reduced calorie food plan, I really don't feel hungry all the time. I can eat smaller portions and not obsess about food all day or feel starved and depressed. It also changed my sleep patterns, and I am having the best sleep of my life right now. The results are amazing: 20 lbs in almost 6 weeks. I didn't get the headaches folks report, but I do have dry mouth, which makes me drink more water. That's not a bad trade-off, don't you think?"

Lorcaserin for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "My first day on Belviq. I am 41 years old, 5'4" and 168 pounds. I need to lose weight for health reasons. My goal is to be 140 lb. This was recommended by my doctor. I took 1 pill, 20 mg, at 11 am, it kicked in at 2. I am not hungry at all. I did experience diarrhea, dry mouth, and headache. I'm wanting to eat more than I did before starting it. I have read some reviews showing that the medicine took a few weeks to start working. I hope this is my case. I do feel very sleepy after I take it. It is harder for me to get up in the mornings. I feel like I am in such a deep sleep since I have started. My mom tried one of the pills yesterday and felt headache, dry mouth, body aches, and chills for a short while. She noticed her appetite was definitely suppressed. Lorcaserin for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on Belviq for two weeks and one day. I started at 145 and lost 5 on my own and was stuck. Since adding Belviq, I've lost another 7 pounds. The trick is to listen to your brain. Could I eat until I'm too full? Yes. But do I? No. Most of the time, I don't even feel hungry, so I eat half or even less than half of my normal portion. Now that the temp outside is getting warmer, I'm starting to run again, and I'm sure it will speed things along that much more. I've been tracking my calories, and I usually eat 600 or less, and I don't feel deprived at all. Expensive, but it's worth it. Only side effects I've had are dry mouth and constipation, but that's nothing some water and a mild laxative can't cure."

I still seem to have low energy and can't seem to exercise with the strength I had before. None are bad enough to quit at this point. It has totally diminished my appetite and craving for carbs. Lorcaserin for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I gave the medication some points because once I started taking it I immediately experienced a decrease in appetite. I took 10 mg in the morning and 10 mg at night. The first side effect was dry mouth and the second was a crushing headache. I read this site and decided to work through it. On day 3 I developed a huge rash on my inner thigh and then on my shoulders. I had strange nightmares and felt out of sorts. I then had irritability and snapped at my husband and young son on several occasions after day 5. On day six I stood up and felt dizzy and weird. I developed anxiety and felt upset. By day 8 my husband and I talked and looked up the contents of the medicine. Serotonin stood out to me. I stopped taking it. Run."
