For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on B for about 2 weeks and lost 5 lbs. I'm not doing anything extreme diet-wise... eating calories based on BMR and plan to exercise more regularly next week. I've had a mild cough, fatigue, and body aches, but I hear it'll subside. It's worth it right now. I seem to have more awareness, self-control, and get full faster. I have hypothyroid, and losing weight was always hard for me, even with crazy programs and costly supplements. For the first time in forever, I feel in control of what I'm choosing! I know it will be a long journey, but I'm ready."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 5'4" and need to lose 50 pounds to get to a weight that I think I will be very happy with. I have been on Belviq for 2 1/2 weeks and have lost 8 pounds. I am eating much smaller portions because I feel full, thankfully, and the biggest miracle is that I don't have any cravings - even sweets! The first few days on it I was nauseous and feeling tired, but then that passed, and for the most part, I'm just achy. Particularly my lower back and knees. That's not necessarily unusual from time to time, but this is every day and more intense. I have had no headaches, mood swings, or feeling high that some people have reported. With my discount card from their website, in Atlanta, I pay $115 per month as my insurance does not cover any drugs like this. I'm excited and hope to continue the 3-pound-a-week loss - I'll take it! Good luck to everyone - it's certainly a journey!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 51-year-old female, 6'0" tall, and my weight has really ballooned in the last five years. I started on the trial, I wanted to make sure it would work for me before I spent a lot of money. I had headaches and body aches the first two days, and I am sticking to a high-protein diet as well. I have lost 13 lbs in the first two weeks! I am pretty good at dieting but have not been able to stick to anything for a long time. My food cravings are totally gone! I still have an occasional headache, but that is okay, I can't wait for a year to go by. I really feel like this is going to work!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started 5/14/15, and after schpeel from my doc about 15% experience headaches, I prepared myself for a huge headache by noon. I took it at 8 am, no headache by noon or after. I was really tired and had body aches, but could be from the cold I had as well. Able to function all day though. My weight Thursday was 226.7, as of Saturday am, my weight is 224.5. I am learning my hunger is mental and not physical. My mental cravings are still present, but not actually feeling hungry, so I can stop at a few bites because nothing really tastes as good as it does in my 'hungry mind.' So I'm definitely becoming aware of my triggers. Can't wait to see my results after 1 month."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on Belviq for about 12 days. The side effects the first week were a little rough: severe dry mouth, body aches, dizziness, fatigue, and I actually gained 3 lbs! But if you can get through that, the 2nd week has improved. The side effects have mostly disappeared, with the exception of the dry mouth. I have lost the initial 3 lb gain and am down 3 more! I'm never hungry and have to remind myself to eat. When I do eat, I'm fuller faster! My insurance didn't cover it, so I downloaded the 15-day free sample and the savings card from the website, and so my cost will be $75 a month. I'm planning on staying on this pill and will keep you updated on the progress. I'm pretty excited now that I'm seeing the weight loss!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Ok, so I started taking Belviq on July 11, 2015. I took 1 pill at 9 a.m. I started feeling like I was intoxicated, dizzy, and very tired for like a half an hour. Then my muscles began to feel a little achy in both arms, my cheeks on my face started feeling achy like I had been smiling for 2 hours, and a little lower back pain. It all was just a little discomfort, nothing too alarming that I needed any pain meds for. After a couple of hours, it had passed, and so did my appetite. Once I noticed the time, it was 7 p.m., so I made myself eat a salad and took the 2nd pill. I didn't like the 2nd dosage because it made me feel dizzy and like I just came from a bar. So I only take 1 a.m. pill a day. July 11-July 18: 288 lb to 282 lb, 7 days lost 6 lbs and feeling good."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I tried taking it for a total of 5 days and was so dizzy I was bouncing off the walls. I felt very lethargic and couldn't even function. I'd wake up in the morning feeling like I was 90, with all the aches and pains. And worst of all, it didn't do anything to curb my appetite! In fact, it made me hungrier! I went back to my old buddy, Phentermine."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started this medicine last month. At first, I lost a few pounds. However, the headache was incredibly bad. By week 2, I was wondering if I should continue. I read some reviews on here, and everyone said to keep going until day 14, so I pushed through. By day 14, I had gained 7 pounds, and my entire body ached, as well as my head still hurting. My mind felt fuzzy, and I overall felt horrible. I decided to stop taking the medicine. Good luck to everyone taking the pill. It was not for me. :("

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have just started Belviq as of two weeks ago. I needed help suppressing my hunger, I never felt full. My calorie intake was anywhere from 2000 to 2400, even with workouts, that kind of eating will cause havoc on your waistline. With Belviq, I have successfully dropped my calorie intake to 1375 without feeling starved. I do not suggest using this medication to skip meals. It suppresses hunger, that does not mean your body no longer needs to eat. I feel like that could cause bingeing and achiness. I am losing some real weight with water weight. I would like to share my stats from two weeks ago, the 9th of April: 5’5”, female, at 251 lbs. Today is the 18th, and I have gone down to 245 lbs. I think that’s pretty great, it took a few days to kick in, but it does-give it time. I took ibuprofen the first two days after reading the reviews. No headache that turned into anything. I will leave a one-month review as well. Definitely sign up for a Belviq savings card at Belviq's website."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "The first day I took this, I immediately got a mild headache, this headache lasted the whole time I took it. I have been on it for a week and stopped today. My heart beats hard, I have headaches, acid reflux, body aches, and weight gain. I am thinking maybe it raises my BP instead of lowering it and causes me to hold water. I have been the same weight on an extremely low-carb diet, which is not normal for me. Works for many, but not me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started taking Belviq 10 mg a week ago. Number 1. None of the coupons I printed out gave me any cost reduction, and my health insurance would not pay any cost, so I'm out of pocket $280.00. Number 2. I'm 70 years young, weighed 196 lbs at 5'4'', obese. Number 3. Had terrible side effects the past week: headache, fever, body aches and pain, especially in my feet and hands, have developed a nagging cough and dizziness. It's been one week today, my feet are killing me, and I feel a bit feverish. Now I can at least get out of the house. Number 4. I weigh 192 lbs today. Number 5. So I will continue this journey one more week, if it continues with the side effects, I'll have to quit. Also, I'm very active, I take an accounting class twice a week, lift weights twice a week, walk 5 miles twice a week, and swim once a week."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After my first dose, I started having chills. Could not get warm. Extremely tired and achy. Headache, depressed, just wanted to sleep. No desire to do anything but sleep. Very dizzy. Would not recommend driving. Skipped 2nd dose. On the bright side, I didn't want to eat, too nauseous."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Today is day one. I am 5'2" and weigh 221 pounds. Approximately two hours after taking the first dose, I have a horrible headache and feel pressure in my chest. No body aches or dry mouth, and no nausea. I came to this very hopeful site for support and to read the experience of others, which has been helpful. Thank you for letting people post reviews. It is very beneficial for us newbies."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm rating 7 for now. I'll post again when I've been on Belviq for 2 weeks. The first 3 days I had headaches almost all day long. After the third day, the headaches stopped. I've noticed that I have more body aches than usual and my energy is a lot less. I think these will level out. My weight when I started was 183.4. After 5 days, I am at 183.2. I was on vacation 3 of those days, so I cheated a bit. I believe I would have lost more if I would have been at home. It's hard to diet when you are on vacation. I'm just happy that I lost at all. Belviq does curb my appetite some. Mostly, I don't eat as much when I eat, and I feel full longer. Yesterday, I forgot to eat lunch. I have low sugar and I'm not supposed to skip meals. I am on 2 a day."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I generally tolerate all medications well and was surprised how awful I felt on Belviq. Within a few days of starting it, I came down with what I thought was a virus: body aches, chills, and nausea. I kept on the Belviq since I had just started it. I spoke about this to my doctor, and he said to give it another week or two. Then the aches, chills, and nausea came again. I also felt that the product did not work. I got an additional headache in the evening and then was ravenous. I stopped the Belviq, and the symptoms went away."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq last night. I was told to take one 20 mg pill before bed. The reason is because my doctor said one of the side effects is being tired. Well, I barely slept 6 hours. I had opposite effects. However, I felt slightly dizzy, achy (even my hands hurt), and had cold-like symptoms. I don't know if the sneezing and coughing are a coincidence or a side effect. I have read it is, but I only had the one pill. We went to dinner tonight. After I ate, I got sick to my stomach and needed to lay down. I'm having the hardest time losing weight. I have been on a lot of different supplements. I'm not sure this is worth it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Today is my first day taking Belviq at 5' and 163 lbs. My goal is to lose 40 lbs. My mom tried one of the pills yesterday and felt headache, dry mouth, body aches, and chills for a short while. She noticed her appetite was definitely suppressed. Today is my first day taking it (once a day), and I had a couple of seconds of chills, and that's it, no other side effects. My appetite definitely hasn't been suppressed, but I'm hoping that within a few days, I will see some changes in appetite and some weight loss."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After 1 dose of Belviq XR, within a couple of hours, I had every single side effect. Cold symptoms, dizziness, inner ear issues, lethargy, severe headache, swollen feet and hands, scratchy throat, brain fog. Had all of these flu symptoms, so I assumed that it was the actual flu and not side effects. Then I noticed the itching that others reported. I noticed swelling in my feet and hands - severe swelling. Hurt to put my shoes on. Body aches, joint pain. My mind is mush. All of these are typical side effects of the medication according to the manufacturer. What is ‘typical’ about feeling sick? I ended up having to go home from work because I was not able to function. Basically, I am out 2 days of work, $145 for medication I am not taking, $100 to see the doctor for a flu test (I don’t have the flu, I have side effects)."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Belviq on December 11 and stopped on December 22. While on the medication, I experienced dry eyes, brain fog, aches, fatigue, and after the first week, I seemed to not be able to control my bladder. The medication does reduce the appetite, however, the side effects of the medication were too harsh for me. $245 dollars, the remainder of the medication will stay in the bottle."
