I am usually just the opposite; my usual 70-degree thermostat setting is now on 75, and I'm still so cold. Everyone else is complaining they are hot, so I know it is just me! Weird... I gave it a 10 because I am not hungry at all, and since it is over 90 degrees (outside), being cold is a good thing ;-) Certainly better than a headache or dry mouth."

When I visited with my doctor to ask about Belviq, he was very apprehensive, as he'd had a few traumatic experiences related to Phen-Phen. We discussed it at length, and he reluctantly agreed to provide me with a prescription, with the caveat that I check in with him once a month. Well, in my first month, I lost 12 lbs! Side effects - initial, some constipation and dry mouth - increased fluid intake and both disappeared. I do feel 'foggy' at times, sleep deeply, and find it hard to wake up. Otherwise, all is well, and I'm finding the side effects decreasing with time. Looking forward to continuing the positive trajectory and getting back to pre-preggo weight!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I just started Belviq 4 days ago. Other than chills in the evening (which I don't mind since I live in hot, muggy Florida). I get headaches that last for a very short time and go away. Dry mouth is constant, but drinking lots of water takes care of that. It is too early to know if weight loss will occur or when, but I do notice I forget to eat. That is always a plus. Good luck to everyone and to myself. I am excited to see what the future holds."

My blood sugar level in the morning is averaging 85-120 when it used to be 175-250. The only side effects are dry mouth and constipation. You would think insurance companies would cover this medicine on your plan."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am on my 2nd week (7/10/15). First week felt horrible - morning headaches, severe dry mouth... actually gained weight. At the beginning of the 2nd week - headaches gone but now have mild body aches... still with dry mouth but lost the initial weight plus 2 pounds!! I do not feel hungry at all... but it took about a week for it to kick in. The cost is prohibitive... I will not reorder. Even with insurance, I cannot afford $200.00 out-of-pocket. It DOES NOT give you energy like Phentermine... just makes you feel full. Oh, also, very constipating!!!!! I will finish the bottle - it is working for me. You have to be a 'responder' to this medication, and only 50% of people are (I didn't know that) see if you can get the first 15 days free."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Belviq 9 days ago and am down 7 lbs! The weight flew off the first couple of days (probably water weight), but I haven't lost anything for the last three. I really attribute that to not eating well when I do eat the last few days, but I am eating less and less often. Gone are my desires to snack. I made a salad for dinner and will be taking more control of my diet again, so hopefully I will see some more weight loss soon! The first night I was nauseous and a little dizzy, but nothing too horrible. The next day, all of my side effects were gone. I still get a little dizzy or nauseous from time to time, but nothing too terrible. The biggest side effect is dry mouth, but that just forces me to drink more water."

First week, absolutely no weight loss and hungry. Second week, I noticed a change in appetite. Lost 3 lbs. Third week, I am down five. Appetite is controllable most times. For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq on Thursday evening before dinner, and today is Sunday morning. I weighed in at 327-328 on Thursday, and this morning was 324. I felt the effects instantly. I was shocked how sick I felt after trying to eat a regular-size serving. I've had almost half the usual amount of food at every single meal since I started. And almost zero between-meal snacks. (I did have about 7 fresh cherries yesterday, but that's been the only snack.) No side effects - maybe a little dry mouth. I'm not expecting to continue seeing this level of weight loss continue - but I'm so optimistic about my future now. I had mild side effects starting the medication: headache, dry mouth, loose stools, but after a couple of days it was gone and for the first time ever, I would get a feeling when eating that I'd had enough. I will say that it has decreased my appetite and I get fuller faster in the short time I have taken them. I take 10 mg twice daily. The side effect I have noticed is a dry mouth... I have a major sweet tooth, and after 1 day on Belviq, I have had no cravings for the sweets. I do have dry mouth, so drinking a lot of water, which is a +! My body got used to it, so my doctor prescribed Belviq. I'm not as jittery as I felt when I was on Adipex, but I do have dry mouth (as if I were dehydrated). So far this morning I've only had a cup of coffee, a cup of hot lemon water with apple cider vinegar. I'm about to have a piece of toast with peanut butter. For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm 5'4" and 165 lbs, on thyroid meds, and have not been able to lose the weight from my last child. I took Qsymia a year ago and lost 15 lbs in 3 months, but the side effects were insomnia, which I've never had in my life, and dry mouth. Cost per month was nearly $300.00, not covered by insurance. I gained half the weight back and decided to try a different medication. Now on Belviq XR, my Dr. gave me a discount card, and it only costs $98.00 as opposed to $300.00. I have been taking it for 4 days and have lost 3 lbs! It has not curbed my eating, although I do feel that my appetite is suppressed. I have not had issues sleeping, but my muscles do feel sore, and I am a bit sluggish at times during the day. I have felt like I'm about to get a UTI for a few days now. I also had a few times standing up where I felt dizzy. Those are all the side effects I've experienced."

I started at 180 lbs because I got side effects from Nexium (acid reflux medication) and gained more than 10 lbs in a month. My PCP was willing to prescribe weight loss medication. I decided to try Belviq because the side effects are less than Phentermine. So far, I lost about 10 lbs. No major side effects, and occasionally I felt dizziness and dry mouth for 1 week. For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took it for a week. The first 2 days brought a headache, and then that resolved. I was also a bit nauseous those 2 days. I did notice that I had almost no appetite right away, so apparently it is effective for satiation. I had to stop taking it, though, because of the following: Cough started immediately and resolved the day after I stopped taking it. Dizziness and difficulty with balance. Deep sleep and trouble getting going in the morning, when the dizziness was worse. Sneezing and sore throat. Now, this may sound like maybe I just had a cold, but I didn't. I am a nurse, and I know the difference. Some difficulty with memory and concentration. Dry mouth, but that is no big deal. Another deterrent for me is that I can't take my migraine medication with it."
