For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Been on the med a month now. Down 10 lbs. Tiredness went away, but have been having really irritating chest pains every day. Cardiologist said I was fine, so I really don't know what's going on. Had to stop the med pre-surgery for four days, and the pains stopped. Back on the med, and they're back again. Wondering if anyone else has this issue."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Ok. So my rating is based on nothing yet, but just wanted to reassure new users because there is a lot of talk about the negative side effects day 1 on Belviq. No headache, I feel just fine aside from being slightly tired. Can't wait to see if it works."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Almost six weeks in... not one pound. The tiredness at first had me ready for bed about 3 pm. I was exhausted. Mouth a bit dry, mild headaches, but they only lasted about a week. Very disappointed that working out seven days a week, being careful with portion size, etc. showed no encouraging results."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Day 4 on Belviq. Cravings haven't subsided, nor do I feel like my brain is signaling me that I'm full or that I do not need that Reese's in line at the market for the ride home. My main concern is the tiredness, the lethargy, and listlessness. It is horrible. I want to stop taking it but have read to 'hang in there.' Oh mercy!! I'm trying, but it's so hard. My husband can notice the difference. My sexual appetite is gone, heck, maybe it's because I'm too tired. In any case, I will continue for several more days as I hear this will go away, but it's so very hard. I am hoping that my cravings for sweets will subside as well. Will update."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was prescribed Belviq because I have multiple health issues rooted in obesity. The first couple of weeks were dramatic, lost about ten pounds, which I presume must have been water weight, as it does eliminate excess sugar through urine excretion. I was still drinking adequate water (1-2 quarts/day) to stay hydrated, but nighttime leg cramps interrupted my sleep up to 3x per night. Also, I was eating less, but weight loss plateaued after the first month. Another side effect that forced me to stop Belviq was the brain fog after taking a couple of weeks. I could not complete a thought, much less stay organized like I needed to be for work. I was also pretty tired most of the time. Not worth it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took Belviq 2x a day about two years ago. It did give me a headache, tiredness, cold symptoms, but they went away after a few weeks. I lost 45 lbs., which I loved. I am back on the Belviq XR, once a day. This one did not give me as many side effects. I did get a little headache and chills, but it seems to be going away. I am on my 5th day. No loss of appetite yet, but I am optimistic because I know it worked before. I do Zumba 3 to 4 times a week, so exercise is not the answer for me, it's eating less so I am watching what I eat and using myfitnesspal app. It costs me $98 now because the prices went up. Good luck to everyone. I say do not give up, just be patient!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Began the free trial and took Belviq for 2 full weeks. No weight loss at all, not even a pound! Made me feel very tired and irritable. Had trouble waking up in the morning. Had a dull headache and constipation. I would highly recommend utilizing the free trial first. This medicine can be very costly."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've taken Belviq for approximately 1 week. I feel the same, and the only side effects are drinking a lot of water and being tired by 9 pm, which is highly unlike me. I get up at 6 am yet still feel tired and wanting to sleep more. I haven't changed what I eat, my portions are less, and I can eat sweets in moderation instead of gorging! I've lost exactly 4 lbs as of this morning. No exercise, no headache, no fatigue once I'm up for the day, no nausea, no dizziness, nothing like that. However, I get chills and cold. No big deal, I just add layers. So here are my takeaways: drinking a lot of water is good, 8 hours of sleep is good, and cold actually tends to burn more calories than being hot. I can live with this, my fear is it eventually becomes ineffective. Also, for the first 3-4 doses, I did notice a bit of a tingly itch, nothing so bad and no hives. Then it just stopped as my body realized there was no danger, apparently."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started the trial exactly 2 weeks ago. Weighed in at 305, 5'9". I am at my heaviest weight, even heavier (20#!!) than being 9 months pregnant. First week, I lost 8#, it makes me super tired, a little crabby, and I get a small headache. This week, I went down to 1 pill a day, hoping it wouldn't make me exhausted. Still tired and only lost 2.5#, but also on my monthly this week. Ugh. Trial is up and I am not sure I want to fork over the $75 each refill. I'm conflicted. So yes, it helps curb appetite and helped me lose over 10#! But I'm also drinking a ton of water and working out 3 days a week."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "First time I took this pill, I had a severe headache. My head was hurting so bad that it actually made me vomit several times. The second time I took this pill, I only had a headache, but nothing as bad as the first time. I felt as if this pill did not cut my appetite. I was still hungry and constantly always thinking about food. Other days I wasn't as hungry, but I was still hungry and wanting to snack. I was on the pill for about 3 weeks before I went to the doctor to weigh in. I only lost two pounds. This pill also made me very, very tired. I didn't want to do anything but sleep. Even after just waking up, I would still be tired."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on this med for a year, lost 7 pounds, but the serotonin syndrome symptoms are not worth it. I have had no energy, profuse sweating, high blood pressure, and consistently high rate. I have been off for 2 days. I had trouble with sleep, episodes of crying, and exhaustion, but my blood pressure is better and my heart rate is already in the 80s resting instead of 100s. Tonight I feel better, though I have had a difficult couple of days. I hope the worst is over. This drug is not worth the risk and side effects. I'm getting out of this clinical trial."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started using Belviq this May and have seen some nice gradual weight loss. The total weight loss is 27.35 pounds, and I am pretty happy with that overall. Starting weight was 203 pounds, 5'6," and now I can start to exercise a little bit. My side effects were very minor, just dry mouth, and I was a little tired early on. This medicine has helped all my statistics for the better, and that is more important to me and my doctor. Good luck as I will lose the other 30 pounds over the next eight months."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Belviq has been a huge disappointment. I have suffered from the following symptoms: exhaustion, constipation, and brain fog. I not only didn't lose a pound in 1 1/2 months, I gained 5 pounds. The fine print, which I hadn't read, says that you can lose 5% of your body weight. Who in their right mind would pay this kind of money for a 5% loss? $313.00 in my area, not covered by insurance, with the Belviq coupon, it drops to $113.00. I have colitis and am an insomniac, so I didn't have to deal with constant diarrhea (only went every 3 days) and slept through the night without medication (but wanted to sleep all day, hence too tired to move and maybe the weight gain). I wish I had read reviews like this before I wasted my time and money. I would like to say that I work out 4 times a week at the gym, walk over 6 miles 4 times a week, eat well, and don't drink, so this was a last hope for me to try to get rid of the fat around my middle from the Cushing's syndrome I was diagnosed with 4 years ago."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was on Belviq for almost a month and couldn't handle the side effects. I did lose 4 pounds, but that could also be due to diet and exercise, not so much the Belviq. It made me so groggy and just exhausted. I could literally sleep all day if I could. Belviq was not for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq after coming off of Phentermine, and I have also had gastric sleeve weight loss surgery 17 months ago. The first 2 days, I was so exhausted and chilled I could hardly move. It has helped decrease hunger, and I eat less now but haven't lost any weight, still maintaining a 131 lbs weight loss but need to lose more. But last night, I noticed I was producing milk. I have now read up that can be a side effect. I go to my gyn tomorrow and will know more, but I'm pretty freaked out!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have gained weight after a total hysterectomy. I could no longer exercise the way I used to before the surgery. I tend to overeat because I LOVE food and actually am always hungry. I am 5'5" and am 205 lb. I took Belviq XR 20 mg for 5 days only. I HAVE NEVER been so tired in my life!! I was uncoordinated, slept like a rock (probably only benefit), and still needed to nap during the day, which is not compatible with staying employed. Also, I had really bad brain fog, urinary incontinence (who would've thought this?!!), and absolutely no motivation to get up, let alone exercise. The biggest kicker is that I WAS SOOOOO HUNGRY!! I had huge cravings for sweets, chips, and ice cream-things I don't love on the regular! Like all the time. I had paid $107 for it with the use of a coupon, and I am just going to swallow that. I so wished it had worked, but I like being employed and being alert and oriented during the daytime."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Been on Belviq now for 4 months, with a 41-pound weight loss. It has worked very well and has taken away my snacking cravings. I'm satisfied eating good, healthy food. The only side effects I experienced were in the 1st 2 weeks... major thirst, very tired, and chilly."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Used a 'card' that is available on the Belviq site, brought it down from over $300 to $98.00. Have been taking it for 10 days - the only thing different I feel is being extremely tired and dizziness. If I don't feel anything soon about 'feeling full' or cravings, I'm going to stop taking it. It's not worth the fatigue!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have only been on Belviq for 1 week. I'm not sure if I have lost any weight yet. I am experiencing many side effects: bad headache, slightly dizzy, very tired (napping almost daily), and stomach issues (heartburn and diarrhea). I'm giving it 6 weeks, and then I will decide what to do. I'm hoping the side effects go away within another week."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started the Belviq with optimism. Quickly realized this is not for me. Already depressed after father's death a month ago, causing me to eat and gain 10 lbs in that month. The first dose made me lethargic, dizzy, unable to function my daily routine. I took 2 more days to give it a chance. I broke out in a rash during that time that looked like shingles. I was also very nauseated and was awoken with an agonizing headache. I flushed them. Money wasted."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started taking just today! I couldn't believe how full I got at lunch. I am making sure to eat a little something low cal, low fat, and low carbs every two hours. Never hungry, slightly tired, and a little bit of nausea after I ate lunch. However, I'm very excited about how I end up in a week."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I tried this medication twice. The first time I started at 164 and lost to 157 and then stopped; however, it helped me maintain the 157. I am 5'2" at 59 years. The first three days had a severe headache, but then, like magic, it went away. My insurance wouldn't pay for the medication after 9 months because I didn't lose any more weight. I then tried again about 6 months later; my doctor recommended it again, and I started at 167 and lost to 163 and stopped losing. I also, this time, began to feel very tired and depressed and realized after about three weeks that suicidal and depression are side effects, so I had to stop taking it. Now I am at 176 on my scales; on doctors, I am 180, and this is all in approximately 18 months."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Belviq last night. I was told to take one 20 mg pill before bed. The reason is because my doctor said one of the side effects is being tired. Well, I barely slept 6 hours. I had opposite effects. However, I felt slightly dizzy, achy (even my hands hurt), and had cold-like symptoms. I don't know if the sneezing and coughing are a coincidence or a side effect. I have read it is, but I only had the one pill. We went to dinner tonight. After I ate, I got sick to my stomach and needed to lay down. I'm having the hardest time losing weight. I have been on a lot of different supplements. I'm not sure this is worth it."
