For Nasal Congestion "Claritin-D is amazing. It allows me to breathe and work/drive/live at the same time. I actually feel better than normal when I take it. I wake more refreshed and seem to focus better. No negative side effects for me."

For Allergic Rhinitis "This Claritin-D is good for nasal congestion and allergies. However, I have about 2-3 hours of sleep per night. The worst side effect is that it restricts urinary flow, and it makes the urine cloudy. It caused blurry vision and raised blood pressure (maybe due to the pseudoephedrine?). I thought I was having kidney failure with the restricted urination. Be careful when taking this medication."

For Nasal Congestion "I took this at 10:00 a.m., and it is now noon the next day, and I haven't slept at all. Will never take again, wish I had found this site before taking it. And the pharmacist said it could make me drowsy! Ha!!!"

For Nasal Congestion "I have taken regular Claritin for years with no ill effects. My wife went to the pharmacy to pick up for me, and they gave her Claritin D 24 hour. I asked her what it was, as the package looked different, she explained that the pharmacy told her it’s a new formula. I took it for 6 days and had terrible insomnia, fast heartbeat, and anxiety all day. I did not realize that the medication contained an extra ingredient, it had loratadine plus pseudoephedrine. It was the pseudoephedrine that was the cause of this, and I had just thought it was regular Claritin. This medication should come with very clear warnings, as it is actually dangerous."

For Nasal Congestion "I have post-nasal drip and swelling from mucus in my throat. I’ve had surgery, which was only about 50% effective. I started taking Claritin-D about 3 years ago, and it helped open me up but made me too jittery and made my heart race. I needed the pseudoephedrine to open me up. I discovered if I cut it in half, it doesn’t affect me as badly, and it still works to open me up. I have to take it by 10 am so it doesn’t affect my sleep later. No other effects from this medicine."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Worked great for my sinus and allergies. Had head and throat issues so bad, so the pharmacist recommended Claritin-D 24 hr. I made the mistake of taking it at noon, and it is now 6 a.m. and I'm still awake. Wired and jittery, and my anxiety is raging. I can't sit still... not worth the lack of sleep."

For Nasal Congestion "Incredible med!!! Have tried everything for allergic nasal congestion for years. I take the Claritin 12-hour in the morning, which keeps my head clear for 24 hours. The 12-hour works for 24 hours for me. Wake up unplugged!! I also use a Navage sinus rinse to clean my sinuses 2 times a day."

For Nasal Congestion "I took this pill one time, and it's horrible. I couldn't eat, and nervousness is an understatement. The bottom line is this: I now realize why you can only purchase it from behind the counter of a pharmacy. I have never done meth, but this is probably a pretty close first. You all know that this is the main ingredient used to make meth, right? Horrible. I'll stick with the congestion."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Like many have said, it definitely cleared up the horrible sinus pressure I was having, but the trade-off was spending the entire day feeling 10x more miserable because of the crazy side effects. It made me feel drowsy, woozy, and extremely nauseous, while also feeling anxious, unable to concentrate, and unable to sleep all at the same time. I also had a sensation of pressure on my chest and felt like my heart was racing. Never again."

For Nasal Congestion "Claritin-D is very effective for getting rid of congestion. Also very effective at getting rid of any chance for a good night's sleep. I was taking it for about a week and got about 1 hour of sleep each night before I figured out what was causing my insomnia. Back to regular Claritin for me. I would much rather suffer worse symptoms than not sleep at all."

For Nasal Congestion "I love this product. It clears my congestion and in 30 minutes I can breathe again. I prepare for the side effects and, for me, they are worth being able to get air up my nose. My day takes a 180 turn for the better. Oxygen level goes up. Life is good."

For Nasal Congestion "I have really bad seasonal allergies and was desperate to get rid of my horrible nasal congestion. As advertised, this drug does wonders for your nose, but the side effects that come with it are almost unbearable. Constant dull headache makes you jittery and super anxious, random muscle spasms, and sometimes it feels like my heart is going to explode. The lack of sleep tops it off. Sure, it’s great to breathe, but the side effects it comes with don’t seem worth it. I only took the drug for five days before I had to stop."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Took Claritin D yesterday at 9:00 am and haven't slept since. It's 10:49 am the next day, and I'm miserable at work. Was wide awake all night. Thought I was going crazy until I found these reviews. Wish I checked this before buying it!"

For Nasal Congestion "Well, Claritin-D didn't clear up my congestion, in fact, it only got worse, as did the stuffy feeling in my ears. I had no appetite, which was nice, and enough energy to play ball twice in the backyard, take my dog on an extra long walk, and do my first mini workout in 6 months, all after a long workday after 9 p.m. at night. I just thought I felt good or something-then came the no sleep, and I realized it was the pseudoephedrine in the Claritin-D, and I had to take 2 Valium just to sleep!"

For Nasal Congestion "Works awesome! Had major stuffy nose, major sinus pressure, and lots of New England clam chowder in my lungs from a severe cold. I could actually breathe when on Claritin-D 24 hours! Only downside: good luck trying to sleep, plus dry mouth - thanks to the pseudoephedrine in it."

For Nasal Congestion "Well, it definitely worked as far as my runny nose and nasal congestion went. It stopped all my allergy symptoms, but it kept me up close to 48 hours. I didn't bother Googling this until day two. I took the first pill around 6 pm, was up all night and into the afternoon of the next day. My symptoms started to reappear just as I began to get a little sleepy at work, so I took another one. Somehow, I still didn't quite connect my sleeplessness with the Claritin-D. Well, I was up the entire second night, and while I was literally pacing, I decided to Google this and found that insomnia is a side effect of the pseudoephedrine. Didn't take the pill again, and on the third day, around 2 pm, I was ready to pass out. Literally, I had to catch a ride from work because I couldn't stay up."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I tried this for my bad allergies. It did help with my nose itching. I had bad side effects that outweighed any benefits. I have been antsy, dizzy, my heart has been pounding, nauseated, and overall just not feeling well. I can’t wait for it to be out of my system. I won't take it again."

For Nasal Congestion "I used this before it went to over-the-counter. Indoor and outdoor allergies with previous sinus surgery. This works great for me. I do get the 12-hour formula and make sure I take it before 6:00 a.m., though. I also use the non-decongestant form in the winter."

For Nasal Congestion "Works great, only one I get anymore. Clears me up all day, I forget I have a cold. The one with pseudoephedrine you have to sign for only. It is a painful process to go through, but works the best. I have horrible sinuses all my life, this stuff is such a miracle relief."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I took this at 7 am to try and fix itchy eyes. So far, 4 hours later, there is still slight itchiness and wateriness. Worse is the side effects. I feel slightly jittery, yet mentally it feels like I've taken a tranquilizer. I don't feel I'm safe to drive. Basically, if you are a first-time user of the 24-hour version, don't try it on a day you have to use a car."

For Nasal Congestion "Instead of going for my good old generic Sudafed-PE, I went for Claritin-D. Strike one. I got 24-hour relief ones. Strike two. I took the first (and only) pill at noon yesterday. It's past noon, and I had no sleep in the last 24 hours, I don't know how I am still awake. On the bright side, it does wonders for my post-nasal drip and stuffy nose. Still not worth it."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Have terrible post-nasal drip. Claritin is the only thing that works. No generics as good. Do find that the med works half the time it says it does; 12 hr works for 6, 24? About 8. I take 12 hr twice a day in spring and fall. Deal with the hrs it's not working. Doesn't interfere with my sleep."

For Nasal Congestion "Great for treating allergy symptoms and nasal congestion that other medication did not help. However, had an adverse reaction to the medication after a few days of taking it and was told to stop by my doctor; now back to having to suffer with allergies again."
