For Local Anesthesia "Not sure if this is allowed. I see others mentioning prices. Zensa is a fortune! $36 for a tiny 30 g tube! It lasts a week if used sparingly. Easily $2-3 a dose. That was a year ago! Things are more expensive now! It's a crime! A crying shame! It's not that expensive to produce. Whoever owns Alera Skin Care is raking in cash. Zensa is used extensively in the tattoo business. Everyone and their sister has a tattoo now! Used to be taboo, having a tattoo! It's too expensive! It works, but I need a 100 g tube. Or more, I use it on my behind. Going back and forth to the drug store is a physical and monetary pain!"

For Pain "Lidoderm 5% patch 700 mg (50 mg/gram) by Endo Pharmaceuticals worked wonders. Patch stayed in place and provided much-needed pain relief. Now my pharmacy only carries the Lidocaine 5% patch 140 mg (50 mg/gram) by Mylan. This new substitute by Mylan is horrible. It is a plastic-like patch that will not stick to skin, does not breathe, and causes sweating underneath, which causes even less adherence to skin. Even using tape over the patch doesn't help. Unlike the previous Endo patch, this new patch crinkles up on the skin and there appears to be no effective benefit of pain relief that was easily achieved with the previous Endo Lidoderm patch. Do I want to pay for an off-brand that my insurance company does not cover? Possibly. What a racket."

For Neuropathic Pain "Mylan Lidocaine Patch offered by the Veterans Administration are the worst product. Do not waste your money. I am a 90% service-connected veteran, and the tax money going to this product is a shame. I followed the directions to the letter, and 2 hours later, they came loose and wrinkled. I took a picture and will try to post it. Another product that was prescribed to me in an Alaska Native Clinic worked wonders. It is called ACTAVIS, I would give it a 5."

For Neuropathic Pain "I tried the MYLAN 5% patches that the VA prescribes... and like other vets, I can accurately report they are garbage and don't stick to the skin. I tried the topical cream... which was okay if in a pinch... but it's sticky! I have to cover both arms and both legs repeatedly, so this wasn't necessarily a good fit for me. Finally, I was prescribed the QUALITEST brand of the 5% lidocaine patch through the VA and am very happy with the product. The patches actually stick to my skin and stay put! Of course, don't get them wet or do activities where you will sweat quite a bit or they will start peeling at the edges. I'm just thankful they actually stay on. I use them mostly at night when I'm falling asleep. It helps so, so, so much!!!"

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "I couldn't agree more with the other reviews of this inferior product. These Mylan 5% Lidoderm patches are worthless, so don't waste your money on them. You'd be better buying the over-the-counter Salonpas pads, which stick better and are more flexible. I use these patches on my sacrum for pain. I complained to Mylan directly about this product, and they responded that 'their investigation showed no problem' with the patches. I think they're ripping off the consumer."

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "I have used the brand name Lidoderm, by Endo patches for years for my back and even my neuralgia from the shingles. They are flexible and stick comfortably to the skin. They are thick and 'cool' feeling in addition, which I love. My newest prescription was for the Mylan brand. They don't stick, aren't flexible, and feel like plastic. Press and hold after application, and even tape doesn't really help. They say they deliver the same amount of Lidocaine to the patient, per gram of adhesive as the brand name patches. I have to say, it feels like there isn't any adhesive on these in comparison. Hopefully, they will realize that they (Mylan) never get refills and make a change. CVS quit selling this brand of generic."

For Pain "Been using lidocaine patches for a few years now. Had to transfer prescription from Rite Aid to Walgreens because they started using Mylan brand patches. Read the label. They are only 140 mg of lidocaine compared to the standard 700 mg. They get away with calling these 5% patches because they made them paper thin. They don't work."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "Was prescribed this for a severe sore throat. I was really nervous to take this because it’s more like a gel. I measured out 10 ml and swished it around and then swallowed. The medicine tastes like lube. That’s the only thing I can compare it to. And my mouth is numb, but it didn’t really do anything to my sore throat."

For Pain "The brand, Lidoderm Patch, worked wonders for my post-surgical neuropathy on the site of the scar. The patch stayed in place and relieved the worst of the pain. However, when I was forced to use the generic, it was awful! The backing on the patch was almost impossible to get off. When we finally did, the patch rolled up in a ball. When trying to apply this mess, it would not stay put. It came off within minutes of application. It was a waste of money."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "I have a non-union/unfused sternum from open heart surgery. This is one thing that really helps with the pain. The only bad thing is insurance will only pay for it if I have shingles. I only wish the FDA would do further studies so that those of us who need this patch can get our insurance to cover it. The insurance covered it until 2016."

Lidocaine topical "I use the Mylan Lidocaine 5% patches for pain from arthritis, hip replacement, and can't get them to stick for more than 1 to 2 hours. If my lower back gets warm from sitting or walking, it just slides right off. I have found no solution. I've tried wearing them at night, same issue. If your body temperature rises, they are useless. I use no lotions, etc., on the area."

Lidocaine topical "These patches are a waste of money. My portion was $71.00. They don’t stick to your skin. The material is like thin, cheap plastic. I can’t believe this company is allowed to rip people off like this. Especially people in pain. I’m stuck now for a month with severe lower back pain because my insurance won’t let me get a different brand. So thanks for the pain, Mylan. You should be ashamed. The other brand I was on was perfect."

Lidocaine topical for Hemorrhoids "Purchased RectiCare 5% lidocaine cream, have tried on hemorrhoid pain several times. This stuff does not work. There was absolutely not one smidgen of difference in the pain. Plus, this stuff is terribly expensive. WHAT A WASTE! I will keep it for bug bites, I guess. Hopefully, it will work better on them."

For Pain "I've begun using lidocaine 5% patches made by Qualitest for neck and back spinal pain. The patches stuck like glue and were very effective. Eventually, insurance no longer covered them! I was able to get more... some were Qualitest, but then they switched to the Mylan patch... what a horrible product!! They are extremely hard to apply, then crinkle and fall off within hours... giving little to no relief from the spinal pain. I'm sure they are expensive... and I end up using many more of these cheapo Mylan patches than the 'good' patches. PLEASE get rid of them, they are worthless... Stick to a reliable product that is worth the money paid for them!!! Make the 'good' ones affordable!!!"

Lidocaine topical for Local Anesthesia "I noticed a couple of extra things. Because I started using a small dab, about the size of 3-4 grains of rice, on my abdomen. It covers an area of about 4 square inches below the navel. It's been very helpful for my other problem, which could be either Crohn's or a form of Colitis. For general skin use, I find it best to have a bare stomach (no clothes in the way) and slowly apply/rub the cream onto the area directly from the tube. Be careful not to touch it, as it will absorb and evaporate. Make sure to wash your hands if you accidentally touch it, as it would probably be bad if you rub your eyes without washing them. Considering my internal experience, I can confirm that getting this cream in your eyes is not recommended. Overall, it's pretty good, but quite expensive. I can easily go through this 30ml tube in a week, even though I'm trying to use it sparingly. However, you do need to use a certain amount for it to have the proper effect, especially for a fissure. The cream is soothing, kind of like a warming pad on my abdomen but it also numbs the area. I can move around a bit, but not at 100%."

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "I agree with everyone else, Mylan definitely missed the mark with this one. “These Lidocaine patches do not stick and do not seem to have any numbing effect.” After playing tug-of-war to get the patch out of the package and then applying a band to try to hold the patches intact, I discovered they offer absolutely no pain relief. I don't understand how a company can get away with producing such a poor product. Also, I don't understand why anyone would give them a rating above a 1. This product needs to be removed from the market immediately! I will be contacting the FDA regardless of what Mylan says. If I had known about the poor performance of this product, I would have NEVER accepted this prescription. The pharmacies should be ashamed of themselves for filling prescriptions with this product. I'm sure they're aware of its ineffectiveness. Believe you me, I will be letting my pharmacy know how I feel about them as well. This is definitely an ineffective drug!!!"

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "If I could give Lidoderm patches a 0, I would!!! The worst patches I’ve ever used, the 4% ones from CVS are much cheaper and more effective. The patches are plastic and do not stick to the skin for more than 5 min. I need to constantly push on my skin to make sure they stick and are there. I’ve used in the past the Watson ones, and they worked like a charm - they adhered so well that I could take a shower with them!!! What a waste of money those patches are. I am going to the pharmacy tomorrow to complain - I hope they can do something for me."

For Pain "I have been using the Lidocaine patch by another pharmaceutical company, and I must say your product is inferior to the other patch. It is very hard to put on and does not stick. I use it for only 4 hours, and it starts to roll off. Sorry to say this, but you need to go back to the drawing board and make this better."

For Pain "Initially used the Watson 700 mg patches and experienced great pain relief. Since my Rx was renewed, my pharmacy filled the prescription to Milan 140 mg. These are the WORST. They are absolutely useless and a complete waste of money. In addition to having an insufficient amount of medication, they are extremely uncomfortable and do not stay on your skin. There is no reason to ever use these things except to line the bottom of a bird cage."

For Pain "While I've gotten very helpful joint pain and referred pain relief from other brands, the Mylan brand patches are a waste of time and money. The backing is thin but stiff and unsuitable for anything but a flat area, obviously, they made the 'adhesive' layer thin to cheap out on the amount of lidocaine, and the difference in pain relief is immediately noticeable. And then they won't stick. The website, but not the box, says to press on the patch for better stick, but then pretty much admits you will need tape. I only am out a small copay, but my insurer spent over $200 a box on this garbage. I'll have to get an exemption from the quantity limits to have another brand ordered. In the meantime, I hurt more than I should have to."

Lidocaine topical "This Lidoderm is the worst patch ever. It’s hard to get out of the package, and it doesn’t stick to your skin. This patch is a waste of money, and they should be ashamed of themselves for making such a bad patch. Average people don’t know the difference when they go to the pharmacy, and they get stuck with this rubbish that doesn’t work."

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "I was on this site to see if their patches were still any good when it says Exp 09 2017, LOT X4078. My doctor ordered these to give me relief from the horrible pain of shingles in 2016. I took them back to my pharmacy and told them they just won't stick to your skin or stay on no matter what size you cut them to. I asked for a different brand and was told that is the only one they could get. And here it is 2021, and I am seeing complaints that they still don't stick. Why hasn't the problem been corrected and how can they still be on the market? Shame on you is right. These are very expensive, and insurance only covers a portion. They should be reported to the FDA. Please someone report them to the FDA. Mine are too old for me to report them, and the pharmacy refunded my money. I have no idea why I still have them. Found after moving."

For Pain "Really no idea if the medicine works or not because they do not stick. If you can lay on your stomach for 12 hours and not move, then maybe you can figure out if they work. I cut one in half, stuck it on my low back, got in bed, and 5 minutes later I feel something I am laying on. I reach down and pull out something that looks like a French fry, only to learn it is my pain patch that lasted a total of 5 minutes. I put the other half on and sat down to type this review, and when I got up out of my chair, it was all rolled up. PITIFUL, PITIFUL PRODUCT. I AM RETURNING IN AM FOR A FULL REFUND. DO NOT BUY THE MYLAN LIDOCAINE 5% PATCH. NOT WORTH $5.00, MUCH LESS $200+. DON'T BUY IT."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "Was prescribed to me for a tooth abscess in my lower left molar, severe swelling (left side of mouth, cheek, jaw, and my throat) and for pain in my left tonsil... which hurt so much that I couldn't eat, barely drink, actually I just couldn't swallow anything PERIOD! By getting this solution... I am now able to swallow a little better and although my molar is still in A LOT of pain... it is now actually stand-able to some degree; which I know it wouldn't be if I didn't have this to take. Negatives: 1) Tastes really gross but worth it for the relief. 2) Hard to keep it in your mouth, without it oozing out (large dose/small mouth, I guess) 3) VERY thick! I use a dosing syringe to get all of the med especially to a specific place in my mouth."

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "My first question is, why did Mylan discontinue making the cotton patches that actually stuck to your skin and start producing a less quality patch that would not stick to a dry surface of any kind? Secondly, who tests these products and provides the thumbs up for quality control? And third, why do the consumers have to settle for less quality medicines as the prices inflate to purchase and the stocks just continue to rise?"
