Lidocaine topical for Pain "I have 5 bulging discs in 3 different areas, degenerate disc throughout the spine, and arthritis throughout the spine. I also have fibromyalgia. I also have shattered bones in my left hand and left foot. The Lidoderm patch works well for the areas that are quite excruciating even after taking my regular medications. I also find I do not have to take quite as many pain medications when using the Lidoderm patches. Thank you ever so kindly, Kamneo."

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "Ridiculous. ... Mylan should be embarrassed to say the least. You might as well be putting scotch tape on your body instead. That's how useless and uncomfortable the product is! Change your product, Mylan. Maybe Endo Pharmaceutical could give you some pointers!"

For Pain "These are cheap... nothing like the Endo Lidocaine patches that actually stuck to your skin. These Activis Lidocaine patches are wet and rubbery and stick together on the sides and are very difficult to apply. Moreover, once you manage to get it onto your skin, within five to ten minutes they fall off. The Endo brand Lidocaine patches were made of a stiffer material that actually was adhesive to the skin. These Activis are cheap and no good!!"

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "Your patches will not stay on long enough to supply pain relief. When I apply one to my lower back, it folds onto itself within 3 hours, no matter what I do. They need to be like the Qualitest patches that I have used for years."

Lidocaine topical for Hemorrhoids "This cream is the best for hemmies, as we call them in the doctor’s office I work in. I’ve used it off and on for 20 years when I have a flare, when constipation and pushing leave painful hemmies. Nothing is worse. A 30-gram tube will run $60, give or take. But it lasts quite a while. It has been the same price for 20 years. I’ve tried other brands, and they work. But something in this brand makes it last longer. This usually works for me: clean the area gently with toilet paper (TP) and witch hazel. Pat dry. Then apply a peanut-sized amount using TP. Repeat in 2-4 hours. Take Metamucil or stool softener daily, and BMs will be consistent and not hard. Avoid pushing hard with bowel motions. Use hot sitz baths as much as you can. Take an OTC pain reliever, and you’re good to go. Well, for the most part. I had surgery 20+ years ago, and it lasted maybe 4 years?"

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "I had shingles from my right index finger and thumb to the top of my head. I thought my arm would explode at times. Areas of skin on my arm and shoulder had terrible sensations. Lidoderm patches were a great help. I was taking 800 mg NSAIDs with no effect. Went to a pain management specialist who gave me 15 mg oxycodone every 4 hours, Lyrica, and these patches. Max 3 patches - 12 hours per day. The worst was over after two weeks. But the pain continues in my right hand - now 9 months. The oxycodone at bedtime with a patch over the affected parts of my hand will let me sleep 6 hours most nights. The patch doesn't do it all, but it is a good assist. And it is not an NSAID."

Lidocaine topical "I used Lidoderm patches for years with wonderful results. Then generics came out. The Activas brand is close to the name brand, but I end up with my fingers sticky because there is adhesive you can’t avoid when you peel off the plastic. Now I have CVS Caremark for my prescription coverage and was sent a 90-day supply of Mylan patches. These are awful! The previously mentioned patches have a cloth feel on the outside. Not Mylan! Mylan patches have a plastic backing. I can get the patch to stick to my skin, but within 30 minutes, my sweating behind the patch, because the plastic backing doesn’t allow the patch to breathe. Once I start sweating, the patch doesn’t adhere, so it is no longer delivering medication! If I wait a few minutes, the Mylan patch just slides off. Do not bother with the Mylar brand patch. It is worthless! I highly recommend the name brand Lidoderm patch."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "Mylan patches do not stick as well as the Qualitest ones, which work great. Pharmacist tried to give me the Mylan as a substitute, said to use a bandaid to hold them on... been on the Qualitest ones for several years."

For Neuropathic Pain "Received Mylan lidocaine patch 5% for maralthia paresthetic thigh pain. This is my first experience with this brand. Total waste of money. The patches don't stick! If a patch won't stick even when sitting absolutely still, they are ineffective. I am returning them to my pharmacist tomorrow and will request a refund. I am requesting my doctor write scripts for Endo or Watson. My patch barely hangs on as I get into bed (even while holding it down). I get in a position and don't move. The minute I slightly move, the patch begins peeling away. I wake up with a twisty curly sticky thing in the bed. The most infuriating thing to me is to read Mylan's website. They made 3.3 billion dollars by June 2015, and these patches came out August 2015. RIP OFF!!"

Lidocaine topical for Local Anesthesia "Maybe I was too explicit about the anal fissure I am treating, partially with Xylocaine 2%. I'm also using 0.2% Nifedipine gel. It's not a simple subject. There are no reviews. Here is one! It requires some description. I am using it internally, twice daily. The applicator tube becomes dirty/hard to clean properly. I started using my finger carefully, trimming my nails. Starting with the center of your fingerprint, not the tip of the finger, to avoid scratching with your nail. It reduces but does not eliminate the pain. It increases range of motion without pain. It does build-up and has a longer-lasting effect when used every day. It's quite expensive. I want to ask my doctor for 5%, especially if it's almost the same price. That might be too strong and make me lose control of my bowels. I will consult my doctor. I don't think so. I'm still in pain. I haven't come close to having an 'accident.' It does very little for piles (hemorrhoids)."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "I have severe bursitis in my hip. My past prescriptions were patches by Pfizer. They were wonderful! This new prescription I was given, lidocaine patch 5% by drug manufacturer Mylan... horrible! They will not stay on my skin... I cannot return them to CVS. I complained to my doctor and CVS... I will never buy these again... waste of money!"

Lidocaine topical for Burns, External "This gel works great. I had a 3rd degree burn from a car accident on the inside of my left leg, just below the knee cap. It started as a blister, most likely (according to paramedics and firefighters) from the radiator hose coming through the firewall and spewing my leg with hot steam. After a day or two in ICU, I guess it apparently popped and turned into a 1-inch deep hole in my leg, which fairly quickly became severely infected. I was scheduled to have the burn debrided, and the doctor came in and covered the entire burn with this Xylocaine gel. He returned approximately 20 minutes later with some lidocaine to inject around and in the burn itself, and I didn't feel a thing. Xylocaine did its job and did it well. Definitely use if you have the ability to choose."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "I started using these about 10 years ago for pain in my foot from a torn tendon. Now I am using it for severe low back pain. This really works. It sticks fine as long as you smooth it on. You can tape it on as well. Also, these patches can be cut to use in various places and to save money. I highly recommend."

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "As everybody has said before, these patches are pure junk. I don't think there is medicine on the patch. I went back to the pharmacy where I purchased them, and they said, 'Yes, we are aware that people said they didn't seem to help.' I asked why they sold them to me knowing that they are inferior. I got no answer. I called the company Mylan. They are issuing me a refund of my purchase price. I told them I am calling the FDA. They said not to bother, by law, they have to report it themselves. I am still going to call."

For Pain "Mylan Pharmaceutical lidocaine patches do not stick to skin, have a plastic backing, so it is very hot. Need to use 10 strips of tape and still did not stick well. Have doctor order from Endo Pharmaceuticals, stick well and has cloth backing. Love this patch."

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "Do not buy the Mylan generic brand of lidocaine patches! They do not stay on. I haven't been able to get them to stay on longer than a half hour. Then I have to put uncomfortable tape all around them. There are other brands of lidocaine patches per prescription to try. Before you get the prescription filled, ask the pharmacist what brand they use and don't spend your money on Mylan."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "Tried patches for back pain due to degenerative disc disease. The patches had no effect whatsoever. I currently just take 800 mg of ibuprofen every 8-12 hours to get the best relief. I refuse to take opioids, and tramadol is a joke."

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "If I could give a lower rating than 1, I would. I have used Lidoderm by 2 other manufacturers in the past, so I can say with authority that the Mylan patch is horrible. What good is it if it doesn't stay on? Having to tape it is unacceptable (and doesn't work), especially considering the cost. I cannot believe the Mylan version was given FDA approval. As a registered nurse, I am appalled that this company would make such an inferior product for people who must live with pain. I recommend Lidoderm widely, but now I am telling everyone I know to avoid it if they have no choice but the ineffective Mylan formulation of it."

For Pain "I'm in a battle over the switch to Mylan lidocaine 5% patches. I agree with everyone here-they don't work, they don't stick, and they're a cheaper version containing less medication (140 mg vs. 700 mg). The pharmacist tried to tell me the Mylan patch still delivers 50 mg/gram of lidocaine. Yes, but it's a thinner patch and therefore less effective. In fact, Mylan's own website states that 'the patches are made of different materials containing a different amount of medication.' For those of you who say that Watson no longer makes lidocaine patches, they have changed their name to Actavis. There is also another manufacturer, Qualitest. Both of these brands make a product similar to Lidoderm. Ask for these brands specifically!"

For Pain "I have used the lidocaine patches by Watson for years for osteoporosis in my neck and back, and they decreased my pain from a 10 to a 3. No narcotics needed. Now I have been given the lidocaine patch made by Mylan, and they are absolutely HORRIBLE. WASTE OF MONEY. USELESS. Not only are they nearly impossible to separate from the plastic backing, once you finally get them on, they start peeling up immediately. These are a total waste of money, and someone should do something about this because the Mylan company surely doesn't care. Now I will need to take a pill to help with the pain..."

For Pain "I have used lidocaine patches for years, they work really well on my back pain. That is until my pharmacist changed brands and I received Mylan brand of lidocaine patch 5%. This brand is a waste of money. They do not stay on at all. When you finally peel it off (which is very difficult), the backing and press it to your skin immediately, the patch begins peeling up. If you get the patch on, you have to take first aid tape and place it on the patch, or otherwise it falls off. This company needs to know that their product is almost useless."

For Pain "I can't tell if this expensive patch is working because I can't get it to adhere. I already use other patches, so I know I'm putting it on correctly, as instructions indicate. I'm in Galveston, Texas, and I am keeping them stored in accordance with instructions. Anyone else having the same issues?"

For Neuropathic Pain "Mylan lidocaine patches are a waste of money, the adhesive and lidocaine layer is too thin - 1/5 the thickness of the Watson generic brand. The clue is the total lidocaine is only 140 mg per pad versus Watson's 700 mg, and thus much less adhesive since the ratio of lidocaine to adhesive must remain the same. Mylan won't stay stuck to the skin, and the non-stretchable backing hurts if/when the patch rolls and pinches the skin. Very disappointing to pay so much out of pocket for such a poor attempt at a product. Never again with the Mylan brand."

Lidocaine topical "My mom was prescribed 5% lidocaine patches for off-label treatment of her arthritis. The patch that was applied at the hospital seemed to be good quality (not sure what manufacturer they used). Got mom home, filled the patch prescription at CVS, bought a box of 30 Mylan patches. Retail almost $300, payment refused by Medicare, bought by me using a coupon for $70. Unfortunately, these patches are totally trash! Will not stick properly. Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. should be ashamed. Very unhappy."
