Lidocaine topical for Pain "I have arthritis, carpal tunnel, and fibromyalgia. Wonderful for localized arthritis and carpal tunnel pain, not very good for fibromyalgia pain. Used primarily on wrists, elbows, and hips but have also used on neck/shoulders and knees. Literally numbs the area. Numbing sinks below the surface, relieving joint pain. Especially effective in my hips, allowing me to get sleep. They cause a mild rash, especially if I forget and leave them on too long. They also come off easily. Take a good shower before applying, and they stick better. I wear breathable elastic braces on hands and elbows to keep them in place while I sleep. I love these things, they greatly improve my quality of life and ability to function with virtually no side effects."

For Neuropathic Pain "Watson/Actavis (now Teva) lidocaine 5% pain patches have been very helpful in dulling the shingles-like pain that I live with 24/7. As noted above, when you hit 65, you are out of luck because that's when the FDA approval for only one usage is enforced. To purchase these without insurance will cost as much or more as my monthly Social Security 'income.' Age discrimination, plain and simple. I will continue to fight to get the only topical pain relief that is effective and doesn't cause a rash."

Lidocaine topical for Hemorrhoids "RectiCare worked fantastically on hemorrhoids and the itching, however, I developed a rash all over my upper body. Worth the price if you tolerate it!!!"
