Lidocaine topical "These are totally ridiculous. I spoke to the pharmacy, and they can't help me but suggested I call Mylan to complain. Two hours later, I still need a new RX for a different brand. These are worthless, but how would a person know to specify a brand? Awful, awful."

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "I am a veteran, and the VA recently contracted with Mylan for patches. They are horrible! I have to tape them on. They will not stay on without tape. What a way to scam our vets! VA pharmacy told me that everyone at the hospital hates them. If you have to buy your own, do not buy this product!"

Lidocaine topical for Pain "I've been using the Lidoderm patches off and on for several years, but increasingly more over the past couple of months. I have chronic neck pain, the result of a car accident, and a herniated disc in my neck (C5/6). I'm sick of taking narcotics, and I've tried every form of physical therapy in the book, and while I feel the Lidoderm patches work, they won't stick on long enough for me to really get the maximum results, which is really frustrating. My rating would be much higher if the patches were more adhesive."

For Pain "Mylan brand lidocaine patches are terrible, it doesn't stick to skin, making it useless. I recently received these due to Qualitest no longer making them (Qualitest lidocaine was very effective), but I threw these Mylan ones out after two attempts of keeping them on. Don't waste money. Activis brand is the opposite, being extra sticky/gummy, leaving residue and a terrible allergic reaction. Come on, drug companies, you can do better! Maybe someone can replicate Qualitest patches."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "I use these patches on my neck due to nerve and muscle issues. They don't work as an anti-inflammatory. However, they do help with the main cause of my inflamed muscles. I sometimes get tingling in my face and hands and arms that get pretty severe, and these patches relieve most of the pain and/or numbness within 15 minutes. They do, unfortunately, seem to never want to stay on for more than an hour."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "Lidoderm patch. Rated 6 and 1/2. Used for 12 hours, then off for 12. This was a fairly good addition to my pain treatment for spinal arthritis. I take NSAIDs, Tramadol, and add this towards the end of the day when I feel my spine on fire. It makes a difference, but not sure a big enough difference to justify the cost. Cons - must wear a non-waterproof patch for 12 hours. Patch is no good if you sweat even moderately as it 'unsticks'. It is not re-applicable, can't take it off to readjust or for a shower, so you have to get it right and time it right. Pro - It does help in a manner that pain medicines and NSAIDs don't."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "I have several pain-related medical issues, including fibromyalgia, arthritis in various joints and spine, and ankylosing spondylitis. I experience severe lower back pain when lying down or with physical activity that involves standing for even short periods of time or bending over, etc. I am treated with two types of opioids for pain. However, despite using these strong medications, my back, hip, and pelvic pain exceeds the threshold of my opioid treatment schedule. As a result, I generally use the Lidoderm patches on my back, pelvic area, and hips. All I can say is they are fabulous. I've used these for several years now. I can put on the patch(es) for 12 hours of any 24-hour period. I can use between 1-3 patches as needed."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "I recently was prescribed Lidoderm patches. I was impressed with the relief I got from sore muscles and joints. Later that night, I noticed my shoulder was extremely tender to touch, and when I looked at it, it was severely bruised and the skin was blistering and peeling, like frostbite. So watch heat and cold while using this patch!"

For Pain "I had used the previous lidocaine patch made by Qualitest, and they are wonderful. Now I guess there is a generic patch made by Mylan, which is a complete waste of time and money. It is like the brown part of a Band-Aid. It rolls up on all sides when applying to the skin. I tried to put one on my foot and then put a sock over it. When I took the sock off, the patch was stuck to the sock. I almost destroyed my sock trying to get the patch off of it. The Mylan patch is so thin and provides no relief whatsoever. We have had a freezing winter, and there is no way to apply any topical lidocaine because of all the clothes that one has to wear at this time. It has been a long, miserable winter, needless to say. I worked many years to have my employer-based insurance. What is the purpose of having the insurance when it is useless to you? What a rip-off."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "Had a spinal fusion back in 2000, and over the years, on and off, I have used the Watson lidocaine 5% patches. Last year, my insurance sent me Mylan. What a waste of time and money. Who thought of manufacturing plastic patches for the skin? They not only pinch the skin but also don't stick at all! I can't imagine if I was walking in the summer and had one on. Shame on you, Mylan, a call to customer service was to no avail. The cost of the Watson brand (which I loved) is so expensive now. I won't be ordering them anymore. The point is Mylan's co-pay was affordable but didn't stick, and Watson's co-pay is too much."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "I tried using the over-the-counter 4% lidocaine and had some relief. I talked to a pharmacist who said that the Mylan should give about 25% more relief. I tried it-purchased 30-5% pads that cost about $0.30 more than the over-the-counter per patch. The Mylan are inflexible, and I have to tape them on. I will not buy more. I may talk to my doctor about just using the over-the-counter and adding a little more lidocaine cream. My recommendation is that customers should not waste their money on these. I also read that the Mylan company is registered in the Netherlands with its main office in the U.S. So, this is a company that can well afford to create an effective product since they obviously do not pay much in U.S. taxes-SHAME."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "The Mylan Lidocaine 5% patches are horrible. Not only do they not help with the pain, but they are very stiff once you put it on, and when you try to take it off, it rips the hair out of your back! It's horrible. I will never use another one again!"

For Pain "My parents had the Lidoderm 5% patches and spoke highly of them. When I somehow threw out my neck/shoulder, I picked up the Lidocaine patch 5% made by Mylan, not realizing there’d be such a difference. The Mylan patches are absolutely worthless! They don’t stick to the skin at all, they fold up and stick to themselves, and I really didn’t notice any pain relief. I tried using these patches twice (12 hours on, 12 hours off), and it was an absolute joke. I gave up on them and took ibuprofen instead, which provided much, much better relief."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "The new Lidoderm patches from Mylan are not effective because they do not stay on, and they do not let my skin underneath breathe. And they want to stick to themselves, which makes them ineffective. I will not use them ever again. The Qualitest Lidoderm patches work wonderfully. The Mylan do not work in all fields. It needs a lot of work."

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "What an absolute waste of money. They are made of cheap plastic. Uncomfortable. Do not adhere. Mylan should be ashamed of themselves. I've used name brand, which were white cloth patches and effective. These are a joke! No relief. I don't believe they have any medication on them. Shame on the company!"

Lidocaine topical for Pain "I've suffered from neck pain for many years from spondylosis and degenerative discs. I see a pain management doctor who prescribes many forms of treatment, one of which is lidocaine patches. I have used Watson brand for a long time, and they work quite well and often allow me to avoid pain meds. Brings the pain down to a tolerable level. CVS pharmacy no longer carries Watson, so I was given the Mylan brand. The Mylan patches are terrible. They do not stay on the skin. I am now using Actavis, and they stay on the skin and are as effective as Watson, which I hear has been discontinued."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "The Mylan lidocaine patches are a waste of money! They don't stay on your skin for more than 2-3 hours. The problems with patches are that the patch is not breathable and the adhesive does not move with your body."

For Pain "The brand name product Lidoderm works excellently. I have spinal stenosis, degenerative discs, spinal spurs, sciatic pain! I used it for 12 years, and suddenly the insurance made me use a generic lidocaine patch. It is so thin, smaller, and plastic feeling. After removing the plastic covering and moving it from the front to the back of my lumbar and sciatic areas, the patch rolls on itself! It also is not as effective! I was told by the insurance company that the patch was not intended for back pain, only for those suffering from shingles. I had shingles in 1980, and apparently the patch had not been invented yet! They prescribed Tylenol 2, and it caused delirium! The manufacturers and insurance companies are complicit in denial of the original product. Nothing else compares!"

Lidocaine topical for Pain "I've used other forms of this patch, which works like a miracle pain remedy, and would find pain relief instead of taking opioids, which weren't working anyway. However, to my misfortune, they do not make any other patch that I'm aware of anymore aside from these Mylan Lidoderm patches, and THESE DO NOT STICK TO THE SKIN! I've tried everything to make the patches stick, from putting tape (which I shouldn't have to do) to rubbing it on. These patches need to be re-made to stick! PLEASE...PLEASE...the OTHER ONES...HELPED WITH MY PAIN from a 10 to a 3 with the ones that stick! For me, that's great, I'm happy!"

For Neuropathic Pain "Pretty sad when you try everything you can to get them to stick, but the insurance has to pay and you get stuck with a copay. You put it on, and within minutes it's off. I've had Qualitest brand, and they are number one. They stay put. So I just endure the pain because you can't get the script filled before it's time, and if you use them before you can refill, tough... Suffer... Nice to know pharmacies don't care, and doctors are getting so cold on people with pain issues. They really don't give a poop either."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "I use Lidoderm patch for upper back pain spasms. The patch works well for this type of pain. I also found that the patch works wonderfully for sex. Very seldom can I stick around long (about 30 min) enough for my wife to climax. However, using the patch about 1 hour before sex dulls the sensitivity, which allows me time for her to reach the big '0'. Happy wife, happy life!"

Lidocaine topical for Postherpetic Neuralgia "This is a good medication to relieve a minor amount of the pain. It definitely needs to be stronger so that it works better. Also, the Mylan brand is a disgrace. Why would I pay for this at all? They don’t stick the minute you take them out and remove the backing. They stick to the skin anywhere on your body, like feet, legs, hands, arms, sides, back. They don’t stick. You need to change the way you make these, Mylan. I will, from now on, refuse every order with Mylan patches. No way in heck should people have to pay for extra tape to hold these on. You should be ashamed of yourselves for selling these to people who can’t afford prescriptions as it is. And then you pay the money, can’t get it back, and you’re still sitting, waiting to ease the pain and still waiting for an income. Wrong. All I can say is karma for your company!!! Get some better adhesive or stop making these, Mylan!!!"

Lidocaine topical for Local Anesthesia "Maybe I was too explicit about the anal fissure I am treating, partially with Xylocaine 2%. I'm also using 0.2% Nifedipine gel. It's not a simple subject. There are no reviews. Here is one! It requires some description. I am using it internally, twice daily. The applicator tube becomes dirty/hard to clean properly. I started using my finger carefully, trimming my nails. Starting with the center of your fingerprint, not the tip of the finger, to avoid scratching with your nail. It reduces but does not eliminate the pain. It increases range of motion without pain. It does build-up and has a longer-lasting effect when used every day. It's quite expensive. I want to ask my doctor for 5%, especially if it's almost the same price. That might be too strong and make me lose control of my bowels. I will consult my doctor. I don't think so. I'm still in pain. I haven't come close to having an 'accident.' It does very little for piles (hemorrhoids)."

Lidocaine topical "My mom was prescribed 5% lidocaine patches for off-label treatment of her arthritis. The patch that was applied at the hospital seemed to be good quality (not sure what manufacturer they used). Got mom home, filled the patch prescription at CVS, bought a box of 30 Mylan patches. Retail almost $300, payment refused by Medicare, bought by me using a coupon for $70. Unfortunately, these patches are totally trash! Will not stick properly. Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. should be ashamed. Very unhappy."

Lidocaine topical for Pain "I live with cervical dystonia (torticolis) along with chronic back pain from lumbar fusions from 30 years ago. My discs have degenerated to a severe degree. I am loaded with arthritis all through my body, the worst area being my spine. The dystonia causes continuous head spasms, and that causes ripping pain throughout my body. Along with a cocktail of numerous medicines, the Lidoderm patch has been a lifesaver. I can place it in a specified location, and though it may not make all the pain go away, it definitely numbs the top surface levels, giving great relief."
