For Headache "Had bought 200mg Ibuprofen over the counter today at the pharmacy while receiving my medications. Never did think too much of Tylenol and always did hear the horror stories of Tylenol and liver failure growing up, so as I've become an adult I've weaned towards Ibuprofen. I had a killer headache and took only one 200mg Ibuprofen. Great relief; my headache is long gone. "

For Toothache "I recently started experiencing a constant toothache from one of the wisdom teeth that had yet to be pulled. Of course, this happened when I was on vacation and I couldn't get in to see my dentist for almost a month (knowing in all likelihood t would have to be pulled). I used 600mg of name brand Advil (coated) up to every 6 hours and it worked consistently. The pain wasn't completely gone, but it was almost unnoticeable. I also had consistent results with 200mg Advil Liqui-gels and 200mg Walgreens Capsules. I did not have any luck using Target branded coated tablets. Happy to say I was finally able to get my problematic tooth pulled. They prescribed an 800mg tablet every 8 hours. So far so good."

For Period Pain "My period cramps are absolutely crippling and the worst pain that I've ever felt. I can't do anything but curl up, rock back and forth, and cry. 400 mgs of ibuprofen every 6 hours or so makes me feel practically pain free."

"Effective within 12-20 minutes. I used this for painful attacks of level 7-8 nerve pain from Occipital neuralgia and trigeminal neuralgia. The paid was quickly reduced to 1-2 and let me get back to life. Don't take too much or you'll get ulcers, so I hear. I rotate with Tylenol for pain. Lasts five to six hours."

For Back Pain "I take 600 mg every morning and midday, and that seems to work mostly, but occasionally I have to take Tramadol for breakthrough pain of my degenerative back and sciatica. I always have to take it with food, or nausea sets in. The use of Ibuprofen also does not have the side effects of E.D. that Tramadol has on me. I use this quantity so I do not rely on Tramadol or get an addiction to it. Sparingly is the word."

For Headache "I've been using ibuprofen for a pretty long time. I have frequent and really painful migraines, and it honestly helps. It doesn't eliminate 100% of the pain, but it makes it bearable enough for me to function in my life. The only thing that bothers me is that I have chronic pain that tends to flare up after I take ibuprofen. That's probably something I'd have to discuss with my doctor. Ibuprofen Sandoz 400mg."

For Period Pain "For menstural cramps, its the absolute best. Stops pain at the source (prostaglandins) so it really helps to relieve many period symptoms. But those with sensitive stomachs will want to use caution as long term use caused me to bloat and get so nauseous every time I took it I ultimately had to stop taking it. I do miss it for periods though- nothing else compares."

For Toothache "I have taken 800mg with 600mg Tylenol at the 6h mark twice a day for several days now for a fractured tooth. It does a really decent job of bringing the pain down from excruciating to bothersome but I have a predisposition to GI bleeds so it is a bit scary over here."

Advil Liqui-Gels (ibuprofen) "Unbearable pain when trying to breathe. Morphine Sulfate had no noticeable effect on the pain. When considering that Pleurisy was an inflammation condition, I took two green Advil gel capsules. Within 15 minutes the pain of my lung dragging on my rib cage had died down to background sensation and in a half hour, it was almost nondeductible. I did this six times over 24 hours and all seems to have subsided."

Advil (ibuprofen) for Headache "Always keep this stuff around. When I catch a real bad headache, this is lifesaving. Tylenol doesn't seem to do it for me. Advil goes to work. I no longer need oxygen tanks with Advil. Four of these and I can get back to life or sleep. Really, really comes in handy."

For Toothache "4.5 hours of periodontal surgery with IV sedation (sure didn’t sedate me very much this time) with no break. The doctor gives me a script for 600 ibuprofen. Tells me to use ice 20/20 on and off. I couldn’t sleep because of the pain and called the doctor in the morning. The ibuprofen wasn't helping at all so he gave me a script for 15 hydrocodone 5 w/ acetaminophen 325. I still had pain 5 days later and had to call again for 15 more. What the hell is wrong with ibuprofen? It might have been easier to get strong enough meds the first time off the street. I’m a retired nurse and here it is 2 weeks later with pain."

For Gout, Acute "Had a gout attack in the night, of course. Took 3x200 Advil liquid gels. Within an hour or so, was able to sleep. Woke up in the morning and pain was at least half. Continued taking 2x200 every six hours for the next two days, and it really made this bout of gout tolerable."

For Headache "I have always found ibuprofen to be the best pain reliever for whatever ails me. However, recently I had what I thought was a sinus headache that could become an infection, so I doubled down on the ibuprofen along with decongestant daily for at least 2 weeks. EVERYONE, BEWARE! I developed what is called a “rebound headache,” which occurs when you take too much of any NASID pain reliever for a headache. It works to relieve the headache, and then it doesn’t, and you end up with a worse headache. This is a real thing. I’m now starting month #4 with a headache that comes and goes but is always on the periphery. Now limiting my ibuprofen to every 3 days and praying for some permanent relief. Be careful with ibuprofen everyone."
